Turmeric with Curcumin Seems to Be Helping

I've been taking turmeric but my latest bottle doesn't have piperine... is it useless, then?
Turmeric contains only 2-5 % of curcumin, so if you want to try, better buy some curcumin extract. Piperine increases bioavailability of curcumin by 2000%.
On the other hand turmeric contains many good things itself.

@PolishSoldier87

Does Curcumin also protect against other ototoxic drugs besides the cancer ones show in that study?

Does it protect against noise trauma? NAC has been shown to help in that regard but im not sure if it has the same mechanisms as NAC.

Its otoprotective from both but i dont know what scale the protective effect is.
What drugs are U asking about? Cancer drugs are the most ototoxic from f.ex Cisplatin.
Dont know mechanism of NAC protection but it's 100% confirmed that it works, at least at some degree.

I don't know if this is placebo, or if it's too early to tell, but I've been taking curcumin for 2 days now and my hissing tinnitus seems a little better.

It used to be really reactive but I'm having a much easier time masking it now.

I've said this many times before but when I was taking 8 grams per day I had huge periods of no shitnitus. Especially at night.

I have been taking curcumin for a week now around 2 grams a day (trying to get to 3) and my tinnitus seems to been "dampened". It seems less intense than usual. By no means has it disappeared or been cured, but rather the edge has been taken off. It seems easier to mask at night with my machine and it seems easier to distract myself from it. It may be placebo, but a lot of people have this result from curcumin as well so I don't know.

I'm only taking about 1/10th of what you have been, around 6000mg a day with these pills that have bioperine.

I'm only on day 3 and my tinnitus has still been far from gone. I have multiple sounds, mainly a wide tonal ring and the hissing.

Last night I was outside looking at the moon, it was quiet and peaceful, usually my reactive tinnitus would be fighting all of the sounds in the background, but I could only barely hear it, was nice.

Hoping we can get more and more people to try this out

Also just ordered some chelated zinc, I'm going to test my zinc levels and then try some of that as well.

6000 mg is 6 grams so you're closer to his dose than you think.

I wasnt even trying to take it to just quiet shitnitus either, I was trying to use its notch inhibitor properties to induce cochlear hair cell regeneration, which didnt work. Out of like 7 things it mimics with the drug ly411575, it stops a critical process, namely the over expression of the gene Atoh1. I was convinced it would work because it was so similar to the drug they used to regenerate hearing in mice.

So is basically the only thing that is stopping us from regenerating our hair cells is a chemical that stops the process? evolution failed us there.

Curcumin Reduces the Noise-Exposed Cochlear Fibroblasts Apoptosis

Conclusion Curcumin proved to be potentially effective in the prevention and treatment for fibroblasts damage within the cochlear supporting tissues and lateral wall regarding the decreased expression of calcineurin, NFATc1, and apoptotic index of cochlear fibroblasts.

Which brand of curcumin should I buy on Amazon? Please can you send a link?
Many thanks.

piperine sucks, mix pure curcumin with mayonnaise or butter. if your hands turn yellow then youre good.

"In humans, curcumin bioavailability was increased by 2,000% at 45 minutes after co-administering curcumin orally with piperine, whereas in rats, it has been found that concomitant administration of piperine 20 mg/kg with curcumin 2 g/kg increased the serum concentration of curcumin by 154% for a short period of 1-2 hours post drug.
(...)
Another study also showed that piperine (20 mg/kg orally) when administered with curcumin (2 g/kg orally) enhances the bioavailability of the latter up to 20-fold more in epileptic rats. Enhanced bioavailability of curcumin was also evidenced by other researcher when curcumin was administered orally concomitant with piperine. Intestinal absorption of curcumin was also found relatively higher when administered concomitantly with piperine, and it stayed significantly longer in the body tissues"

@Zeneth
No, I don't, I am getting results with much less.
My dosage at the moment is 800mg per day (split in to morning and night).
I suspect inflammation is the cause of my tinnitus, and I'm more sure now.
Results with prednisolone and now with Curcumin.
I do get hormonal fluctuations as well so will be interesting to see how things go throughout the month.

The background (quickly to my onset) - tinnitus 1 month after C-section delivery of twins, gestational diabetic. I was unwell shortly after the birth and felt "not right"for at least 2-3 weeks post birth.
OB told me at my 6 week check that there were some inflammatory markers in my blood when they ran some tests after I complained of feeling unwell.

I have a mild ring in my right ear that I believe is related to a 30db loss at 6,000khz. This remains unchanged on curcumin (and I can actually hear it now, it is normally dominated by the hiss). I am habituated fully to that noise.
The hiss however is much milder at the moment (I can't hear it unless in a relatively quiet environment and focusing on it).
Hi, what kind of curcumin are you taking? Maybe you can give a link? :) Thank you
