Two Year Anniversary

Today is my "day that will live in infamy": a one-year anniversary of me getting my acoustic trauma. Soon I will be celebrating a one-year anniversary of my tinnitus turning on...

T ate my 2017. I have very few memories from the past year. As a result, January 22, 2017 feels like it was about three weeks ago...

How long was it between your acoustic trauma and tinnitus turning on?

For me it was three days and it happened right before and right after New Year's so I'll never forget. (That's also why it took a lot longer to get in to see a doctor even though I knew something was wrong right away.)

My one-year anniversary!.............

@Bill Bauer Happy Anniversary.

@Alue I am sorry if you've already mentioned this, but what about ketamine? There are some trials set to start in New York . There's also a ketamine clinic in Arizona that treats tinnitus with ketamine. I really don't know much about it at all, but maybe it's worth looking into?

I haven't tried ketamine, but I'd be willing to give it a shot. I did do AM101 which is ketamine injected into the ears (I know it's not exactly the same though).

I wouldn't want anything injected in my ears, but if ketamine could make my brain pay less attention to it or actually bring it down, I'd try it. It is expensive, though. The last quote I got was $600 per treatment and there would need to be at least 6 treatments -- possibly more, but I can't remember. In my opinion it's still not a practical option due to the expense and uncertainty of long-term effects, but there are trials being done on intranasal ketamine that seem promising. And then of course you have the clinics that specialize in it if you have the money and are ready to risk it.
