Hi all!

I'm new to this site. A month ago today I woke up and had intense ringing in my right ear. Apparently a virus caused this but no one is for certain.

I have tried prednisone and anti-viral medications and nothing has worked for me :\. I have constant ringing in my right ear and VERY sensitive hearing from what I have left. I can still hear out of my right ear, it's just the constant ringing and high frequency loss.

That being said, I have numerous weddings coming up and I have tickets to the theatre this weekend. What are everyone's thoughts on what I should do for these events. Do I use ear plugs or do I just suffer through it?

I'm trying NOT to use ear plugs as I want to try to desensitize myself from the every day sounds - toilets flushing, glasses clinking, musical theatre, church.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Use ear plugs if you feel you MUST go to these things - on BOTH ears. You can always desensitize your ears and noise sensitivity with safe sounds and gradually build up within your ear's comfort, not going all in and potentially stepping on a landmine.
