Thank you for this. It looks like there are a few drugs in the pipeline which could possibly reduce/stop tinnitus

Hi All.

I support and want us to all have hope, but as stated this is quite old. Many of those have been proven to be ineffective. I've even tried Memantine and it doesn't work :) But lets never loose hope!

I didn't even see that at first lol :dohanimation:
Funny I saw that too - in fact I took my first viagra since having T more than a year ago and I swear my T was quieter for that day
Maybe worth trying more often - pretty safe drug overall compared to the rest in this list

Yes, it's a rather old video but the point is that there's a lot of money being pushed into this research and there are very promising results in laboratory tests. The tools they have today to create a viable treatment simply didn't exist 5 years ago. In addition to the pure capital investors (in it for the money), the U.S. government is a big provider of funds for this research. The reason is the very large number of soldiers that acquire T due to gun fire noise. The "cure" won't be out tomorrow, but there is literally a race going on within the pharmaceutical industry to find one and with the government push and market need funding is not an issue.

Really? I thought that Viagra can cause hearing loss and tinnitus?

Memantine is well known to be inefficient and even deadly in the long term. But when you tell it to physicians they often grimace because they are still stuck in an old pill paradigm

it's interesting that no one talk about antidepressants as the panacea for all the disorders (y)

Back in the beginning of the mainstream internet, there were many horror stories from hyperacusis and tinnitus sufferers polydrugged by antidepressants and benzodiazepines especially rivotril which switched their brain off for weeks

awful truth! clonazepam destroyed my life. I'm detoxed thanks to trileptal but unfortunately the tinnitus is still alive.
