No I am seeing an upper cervical spine chiro. He is guaranteed me it will go away within 3 months. We will see. I just saw a neurologist who basically blew me off but ordered an mri anyway. I currently am in the process of a full mouth reconstruction, i just started invisalign but my dentist said to give the nightguard a shot. We will see. I really hope this works im so afraid this will be forever.
@Tretred
That's a shame the neurologist just blew you off like that. I used those smile direct club aligners, there really isn't much monitoring going on when you use those except for photos you send to have them check up on your progress like once or twice. Dumb decision on my part to use those. You are smart by going through your dentist, you will have them monitoring your progress all throughout and they will be able to make the adjustments you need if necessary. Yes I think definitely give the nightguard a try. I will say the headaches I used to wake up with in my left temple are completely gone now that I use a nightguard. I don't wake up with a sore jaw anymore either. My T has definitely calmed down since incorporating the nightguard.
Since you will be using invisalign, I have learned from my dentist as your teeth shift it changes your bite slightly, every change in your bite requires your jaw muscles to work differently, that then can effect your jaw alignment, and your neck. There is a domino effect that happens, so keeping up with the Chiro visits maybe helpful. I've never tried acupuncture, but there are people who seem to have success with it, it could possibly help with anxiety too.
Yes my tinnitus did change with sound in the beginning. I remember I used to be able to hear it over loud sounds. Sometimes I thought it was reacting to the sound of my shower. Now that doesn't seem to happen anymore. If the tv is on, dryer is going, my kids are talking I really don't seem to notice it unless I tune into it. If I don't get enough sleep that seems to make it worse the next day. It started in my left ear. It can switch from left to right, but never both at the same time. I used to not be able to be in a quiet room, it was loud and sometimes felt like my ear was vibrating. Now I can be in a quiet room, it's in the background sometimes, but it all depends on how much attention I give it. I have had days where I barely notice it. Does yours change or stay at a consistent tone? Mine goes up a little when I lay down, however I can be standing in the room and barely hear it. My dentist and chiro both believe it's the positioning of the jaw and neck when I lay down. When my T is more noticeable I equate it to someone using a high pitched handheld vacuum in the distance. There are other days where i feel it is a soft whistle or buzz.
All i can say is that as my bite has shifted back and my jaw has started to adjust to the new bite and with my chiro and nightguard I am definitely in a better place than when this started. Distraction is also big for me. I keep myself busy with work, stuff around the house, and get involved with my kids activities.
Is that your child in the profile photo? So adorable. I have two children, they are a big part of my progress. When they started to notice that I wasn't myself when this all started I could see the concern in their eyes and it just motivated me to get beyond this for them. I have my good days and not so good days, but the good days have started to outweigh the bad for sure.
Hang in there!! Hoping you get some relief soon!
(P.S. sorry to bore you with such a long reply)
