What Hobbies Do You Have? (and Does Tinnitus Interfere?)

Loud motorcycles should be banned!
The rider wears earplugs/quiet helmets, but do you think about the pedestrian that is standing near you while you take off at 120dB ???
Despicable.

Yes I do....and horses, dogs etc etc. For your information, all the bikes I own or have owned are 100% road legal and thus comply with any noise level legislation. In the Netherlands the fine for exceeding the sound levels is a hefty 420 euro's (---> about a 1000 dollars). For your info, riders wear earplugs and silent helmets because of the wind noise.

Not every rider has to goal to annoy you!

Along with my Doves a run several FB pages for the Town I live in and I am a very keep amateur photographer I am very lucky as I live above a Cotswold valley and I get to take amazing sunrise photos (when we have them) This is one I have taken from my house. I hope you enjoy it.

I also am a huge F1 and my emotions and stress over the last few days were massive. I was on the edge of my seat ( well on the floor tbh) But seeing LH win was just amazing, I am just so happy for him. Fly the flag my son :) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/30168481

Well, the race was pretty boring (again).

Nico asking the team to continue despite the fact that the team wanted to retire the car because of the drive train problems....was the only moment that was interesting.

In the end...Lewis was the better racer and deserved to win....

I agree, but being boring was OK for me, but I think it has been the best season for years. And some good young drivers to look out for next year. I just hope JB gets a drive.

Music, even though it's what gave me T in the first place I just can't give it up. I'n terms of listening, I still listen to a reasonable abount at home, keeping the volume low. Writing recording is a different and trickier beast but I'm trying to manage it in dribs and drabs, playing live out of the question at the minute but hopefully someday will again.

metal detecting
What kind of a metal detector do you have? How long has this been a hobby of yours? What are your best finds?

It's an interesting hobby.

I've read some Finnish metal detecting forums and it's amazing what one can find.

My friend and I have a film company. Filmmaking is our passion in life!

We used to make films and enter them into film festivals which was great fun!

He knows I have Tinnitus and his father also has had it for as long as he can remember so he understands.

We used to specifically pick serene, quiet locations to film which I used to love going to. Now I dread it when we film in these places.

Shame huh? :(

Photography, drumming, and cooking.
Initially photography and drumming had to go. I did not like anything when my T started.
I did not stop cooking as I need to eat.
After few months of stress with T I upgraded my camera so I could continue my photography passion.
Not sure what to do with drumming. I do have electronic kit and I listen on the headsets, but I am afraid.
I want to start practicing again, but not sure if this is a mistake.

Boating: I don't know if it interferes yet, onset was after the season was over
Gaming: Haven't played a video game since onset, going to try this Friday
Cooking: Still like to cook
Reading: Read my first book since onset about 1 week ago
Camping: Haven't gone since onset, probably won't until late spring/early summer

music, video editing

yes it ruins video editing because I dont use headphones much anymore and it's hard to do it without that.

Playing the electric guitar and modifying/upgrading it. Since I am better overall I play more often and started modifying it again. Distraction is a good thing.

Music: Love to listen to music from different countries, since my t is so damn loud it ruins beautiful music, especially classical music.
Reading: I cant read, T is too loud and I see dark eye floaters on pages.
Hiking: Hard to hike when T is so intrusive, ,it makes me cringe.
Traveling/Road Trips: not possible with this anymore, too many unexpected loud sounds, airplane is a no no for me at this point at least.
Cinema: Not possible with Severe T and Severe H
Wine Tasting: I cant be around too many people because T reacts to that, so I can do this but it has to be not around a lot of loud people.
Gardening: THe only hobby I can do.

T interfered with all of my hobbies after being home bound.

Disneyland - Can't go anymore. Used to go every week for the last 20 years.
Movies - Cant listen to audio, have to use captions
Guitar - Can only play acoustic once in a while very very quietly with my fingers.
Photography - Used to photograph Disneyland weekly and areas in my city, now I can only shoot in my studio.
Music - Can't listen to speakers at all. The only time I can hear music now is on this special record player using a toothpick and paper cone to hear the sound.
Comics - Have to order online. Can't hand pick the good ones anymore.
Video Games - Have to play on mute and can't talk to team mates anymore.

That sucks man. Being a musician and having T is a curse!

Anyone here have anything adidas related, boxes advertising promotion items maybe vintage shoes trainers or clothing, anything adidas im interested

I collect anything adidas from the rare vintage shoes and clothing to some modern desirable items, advertising, shop displays , promotional items, badges posters books , whyg? If anything it takes my mind off the tinnitus if only for a short time i forget

Having lived abroad or many years, I enjoyed very much getting my fix of English from watching documentaries on YouTube. I would lie in my bedroom all nice and quiet with just my laptop and I.

I can't do this anymore... tinnitus has taken all the fun out of it!

Agreed - it seems to run at about 80%.....
Tried a nature walk when my T and H were just starting to improve in the summer. Was trying to relax over lunch at some picnic tables when I spotted a group of people in biker gear walking over to some parked motor cycles. I started to run up the hill in a direct line away from them, to get as far away as possible in readiness for them shattering the peace of the summer's day, while my family tried not to snicker at my haste. Luckily out of respect for the families around they hardly revved at all as they set off. They were older bikers but I didn't want to assume that meant they would be well behaved.
