Not a doctor, this is just my own experience.
It goes without saying if you already have tinnitus - look up what drugs are ototoxic and avoid those in the future!
I never use ibuprofen (Advil) anymore. Even tart cherry extract, which people sometimes use in place of aspirin, is a bit hard on my ears.

What I mention in the video:

Methylcobalamin
Here is the one I use. Jarrow is a great company!

Arches Tinnitus Formula:

Piracetam (for improving microcirculation)
Some people find they need adrenal support along with this

Alpha GPC (need a choline source along with piracetam):

Ocean waves masking noise for tinnitus:

Haven't used lipoflavonoid but I hear it is good.
I personally used Piracetam + alpha GPC (can't be used with ginkgo and a lot of other things), low-salicylate diet, avoiding ototoxic medications and most OTC meds (NO MORE ADVIL. EVER.), bee pollen and royal jelly for natural source of B-vitamins, thyroid and adrenal support, avoiding food sensitivities, masking noises, methyl-B12, methylfolate (I have MTHFR, look it up), detoxification, time, etc.

Thank you so much posting this. I especially agree with what you said about doctors. They're very dismissive towards people with tinnitus. I understand that there is no cure, but it baffles me that every ENT I've seen doesn't even have information regarding treatment.
I remember you once told me about a supplement that worked really well for you. I still want to give it a try, but I started something else that I have to follow through with first. Do you know anything about Lipo-flavonoid?

I also am amazed at how little the ENTs and most doctors know about tinnitus treatments. They tell you to simply go home and live with it.

If you have a salicylate sensitivity, Lipo-flavonoid may aggravate this sensitivity. Although this forum seems to state the opposite.

"RPV1 expression was significantly upregulated in spiral ganglion cells 2 h after salicylate injection and this upregulation together with the increase in the number of false positive responses was significantly suppressed by capsazepine (10 mg/kg i.p.), a specific antagonist of TRPV1. This suggests that salicylate could induce tinnitus through activation of TRPV1 in the rat auditory pathway."

There is also a supplement called Lipo-flavonoid which is for the treatment of tinnitus, which contains eriodictyol, a TRPV1 antagonist. Incidentally, TRPA1 is activated by menthol."

So I see that at least two people have used piracetam to get rid of T. However, I also noticed that @Markku used it but with no result. And, starting June 1, in the US, you need a prescription to get piracetam. Piracetam looks interesting, but I got a bad feeling about it.

Where have you read that starting June 1 one needs a prescription for piracetam in the US?

Maybe my googling skills are lacking, but I really couldn't find any info regarding that.

The letter is dated April 1, bit I don't think they're kidding.
Ah, the letter explains it.

Nutrivene is discontinuing selling Piracetam without a prescription effective June 1st, but they haven't been required to do so by the FDA.

Therefore I think Piracetam will continue to be available in the US without a prescription (although not from Nutrivene), until such time as FDA actually ordering it to be prescription-only.

This is the only post a bout TRP's ? I believe my tinnitus has to do with excitation (upregulation) of TRPA1 or a member of that receptor family. Cinnamon drives me crazy!
