  • I've talked to so many amazing people because of these afflictions. Seems like the really kind people are more prone to these conditions. I love you all. ❤️
I love you brother. You are one of the most people I've ever come across in my life. I've known people my whole life and never felt a connection like I do with you. Would of killed to have you as a siblings, I wish we could meet. So sad to meet a true family member and it be stifled by these horrible conditions.
@Jerad, do you know what's going on with Chinmoku? Do you know what treatment he underwent? Did he find the cause of his constant deterioration? I'm asking because I have the same symptoms as him, same reaction to medication, daily aggravations, I'm in a benzo trap. I'm close to death. Can you help me? My only chance is to take a treatment similar to his.
I would not care so much if it did not get worse but it just gets worse. Very reactive to sound. Very reactive to foods. Very reactive if I clench my teeth. Very reactive if I move my neck. Very reactive if I touch the right side of my head around my ear. I had 5 months of insomnia and I think it killed my nerves and health

@4Grace I dont know if you got something else going on, but your stress level is through the roof for obvious reasons. Somehow you need to find a way to calm your self and I think your T will come down as well.
    4Grace
Mostly the noise. I have lots of friends. My wife wants to do something for long weekend. I say I can't poor girl is sad about this too. My biking group keeps asking me to go out. Can't. My family pushing me to takes meds which I am almost certain will finish me off with T. Holly crap what the hell is going on in my life,
    SarahMLFlemmer
One day at a time guys. The only thing that I've found to relax me is a bath.
I think I have just developed H. Should I go on Mirt? I am getting really desperate. All meds to calm you down are bad for T. In the las three weeks by T has spiked daily with zero relief. I go to family for dinner it's loud. If I wear ear plugs chewing and talking too loud. I need help that does not exist
    4Grace
I know. I am freaking out. I know. Mirt lost hearing I really don't know what to do …..
    Tryn2BHopeful
@4Grace maybe your doctor can prescribe something different?
    4Grace
I tried 3. Again you are very kind for taking the time. It's a lot to adjust to. Complaining does not help but holy crap it's a lot to deal with all in 8 months. Every day is a struggle. So sad.
Hello - it seems like mine gets worse daily. How do you put on ear muffs and ear plugs if it is very loud? When I put them in my tinnitus is crazy loud. I have musicians ear plugs. Even if I put them on my T is way to loud. I can't do it. It's getting worse by the minute please help. I can't stay inside the house all the time
@Jerad Is fleeting tinnitus a bad or good thing? Could it mean the brain/ears are trying to recalibrate and adjust back to normal again? Have you experienced occurrences of fleeting T
    Jerad
@LostTruck ya, I have, but they would usually only last a minute or so. Not sure if it's recalibration or blood flow or just the brain hiccuping or something. I think they're neutral, tbh. Not good or bad. Just part of some ppl's t.
@Jerad Unfortunately I fear I may fall into that severe category. From what I understand, the chances of it getting better are worse once it gets that bad? Mine is very loud, reactive, T and H with ear ache. One ear worse than other
    L
@Jerad If I understand the terms correctly, it sounds like I probably have both. The ear ache suggests pain H and the oversensitivity to sounds would suggest loudness H too? Certain sounds like cutlery clinking plates or mugs, etc are uncomfortable for me.
    L
@Jerad But I've also noticed that if I wear ear protection for a long time and then take them off, everything seems to be louder and more sensitive than it usually is, so maybe that's also what's contributing to the oversensitivity I'm experiencing?
    Jerad
@LostTruck ya it sounds like you have both. A lot of ppl say too much protection doesn't worsen. But some swear it does. It's very individual. Maybe it's worsening ur loudness h but not the pain h. Some say that
@Jerad Have you noticed any improvements once yours became severe? And if so, how long did it take? I appreciate any helpful advice you could give, thank you
@Jerad I'm still early in my recovery process. It seems like you would recommend not doing any sound exposure therapy, correct? What else can I do to give myself the best chance at healing and improving?
A user named Paul something asked me some questions on here, but the post is gone. Was gonna answer them 2day. If u see this, Paul, repost.
    sakrt
How are you @Jerad hope your T/H improving, esp. the noxacusis.
    sakrt
Hi @Jerad how are you coping? Struggling w/ trigemenial neuralgia symptoms atm that I feel to be, or same as noxacusis? I was wondering if you had plf? Have you found and meds. that help? So painful and with loud T/H; torment.
    T
@sakrt, sorry you have to deal with this pain. I hope @Jerad is ok. Haven't seen him in a while.
Is your drone constant? Mine is often intermitted, sometimes constant, sometimes louder, sometimes quiter. Impossible to habituate to this. It changes with my head position.
I hope there is a chance thst it goes away. Ive read some low drone posts here, where people got rid of it.
    Jupiterman
Are you still getting these zaps? Have you tried altering diet or altering supplements?
    Jerad
@Jupiterman ya I'm still getting them. No diets helped. Haven't tried supplements extensively bc I'm so sensitive. I spike to everything. Do u get zaps?
    Jupiterman
Sorry to hear that. I get zaps, but only a few a day and they aren't that intense. In fact they have probably eased in past few months. I noticed when I ran out of Magnesium supplements the zaps became a lot less intense and fewer of them.
God bless you i cant believe you had this since 2 THOUSAND AND FREAKING TWO! *MIND BLOWN* you are a veteran OG for real. the 90s and early 2000s were such a wonderful time and it saddens me you couldnt enjoy those years to the fullest. post 2013 when i got tinnitus everythings been a depressing down slide blur. ive literally just been existing for the past 9 years like a zombie. so i can only imagine.
    KoolKat
i mean for christ sakes the freaking twin towers was still burning with smoke literally near the time you got tinnitus, im sorry but it just blows my MIND how much time has passed from 02. God you are strong. you deserve a cure so much. please let us be the last of this generation to deal with this suffering.
Just wondering - the illustrations/cartoons you post - do you do those yourself?
    Jerad
It doesn't look like I can post my pics of my work on here for some reason.
    Stuart-T
I really like that Batman artwork - quite powerful imagery and you chose very well which images to use. I have a dark sense of humour so actually found myself chuckling at imagery and the mood. You should be able to post your art - there is a thread I think for this purpose in the general chat category. Do you make money out of art? Or just spare time hobby.
    Jerad
Thanks, @Stuart-T. I have a dark sense of humor, too, sometimes. Ya, I'll have to look into posting it on that thread. It doesn't let us post images in these chat boxes. I also like the Batman artwork because it's like a comic strip along with the writing. No, I don't make $ from art, so it's just a hobby. For most of my career, I was working in radio and television/NBC until recently.
I really like how you talk about these things, it makes for intriguing reading. thanks man.
    Jerad
You're welcome. :) & thanks, man. I'm glad you enjoy what I have to say.
Has anyone out there found a solution to improve tinnitus that zings? It's like sparks or electrical shocks. High frequency and is felt too
Need advice- Audiologist wants me to try hearing aids, minor amplification.I got severe T/H from ototoxicity, headphones.Afraid to make worse
    U
I replied in your Introduction thread.
    Philip83
Hey Jerad. I can fill you in with some details about my experience if you want. I'm super busy these next few days though.
    Hottopic29
I wear mine but i have minimal amplification i use for the tones it plays to help with tinnitus i was worried about my hypercacusis but doesn't effect it .. since i control volume keep em low on phone app i have widex ones
Twilight Zone real episode: "Sounds & Silences." 1964. "A man who enjoys noise is driven crazy when trivial sounds become deafening."
I just saw a 1964 episode of Twilight Zone where a man develops a condition similar to H. He goes to an ENT who sends him to a psychiatrist.
I've become just a caretaker in life, trying to care for T, but it bites the hand that feeds it, the Tasmanian Devil it is. Oh, the pain…
T/H remind me of "Hellraiser," where the sufferer is Frank, curiosity meets catastrophe, & the blood keeps running like a sadist's wet dream
Hey Jerad. No zaps here. sometimes sensations yes.

I was reading about zaps. it seems to be a common effect of WD and/or switchng from AD to another, along with hyperexcitation from extreme stress. Is this the case for you?

    https://www.anxietycentre.com/anxiety-disorders/symptoms/brain-zaps/

Youve probably read up on it extensively, but I thought this was well written.
    Jerad
Thanks, @DebInAustralia :-) it sounds like anxiety could be a problem, as I never took those meds referenced. But it seemed that my head t/hissing/electrical/zapping started after topical use of colloidal silver. I appreciate u sharing this. Today was a very bad t day. Days like this make me feel like I gotta try something. It's just not sustainable like this—too torturous and unreasonable. Idk what to do.
Catastrophic T/H shouldn't exist; too inhumane. They'd be "just" if—when reaching a certain point—they caused your CNS to shutdown/kill you.
I first got T in '02 & tried to master astral projection to undo it. Time travel…that's the true cure. Any physicists here? Let's get workin
    Damocles
Anyway, it seems to me you're saying we can still go FORWARD. So let's do that!

    LEEEEEET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO @Stacken77!!!!!
    Tatsopa
In theory, going forward is possible. You're right, LEEEEEEEEET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOO. Just chain those researchers to the ground while we go around the world at the speed of light. And a hundred revolutions later, a thousand centuries later (for them, not us), if I spot someone with white noise generators, LEEEEEEET'S crash on the nearest mountain.
    Jerad
Ya, going to the future would be good, too. Let's say we went 300 years forward, certainly a cure or effective treatment would exist by then (I hope). So I guess we wouldn't need to go to the past. But if we were stuck in the future, we wouldn't be able to reclaim our former life in this time period with loved ones, etc.
Feelin Christmasy. T—like the 3 spirits that haunted Scrooge—shows u past, present, future, how u F'd them up, what coulda been, is, will be
T, a parasite that wages war on ur quality-of-life, health, & time itself—the good ol' days become bygone treasures; the future passes away.
hi Jerad. is there anything i can do to help you? i know how you feel ...
    Jerad
@DebInAustralia thanks for reaching out! I appreciate it :-) If u pray please pray for me. I'll pray for u too. It's been tough and hoping to find a solution soon. Are u trying anything new for ur t?
