Poll: TMJD-like Facial Pain After Acoustic Trauma

Thanks for the well wishes, @eagerUser. I'm finding magnesium and cyclobenzaprine (10mg) at night to be helpful. Great to see a few answers to the poll. It's helpful to know that I'm not the only one experiencing weird noise-induced symptoms.

Poll: TMJD-like Facial Pain After Acoustic Trauma

Hi all, I am suffering from fullness, spasms, and TMJD-like pain in my jaw and neck after a night out at a nightclub. It has been a year now with some (limited) improvement. I was wondering how many of you have had a similar experience after a noise trauma? Feel free to leave comments if...

When I Open My Mouth or Smile, My Eardrum Vibrates and Feel Some Pain — Is It a TMJ Issue?

Bumping this--I have the exact same issue. Never had TMD or jaw pain before. Then an ear infection on plane led to flutters. A few weeks later, I went to a nightclub and walked out with tinnitus, worse spasms, and the next day developed classic TMD symptoms. Jaw/ear muscles hurt when I talk...

    TTTS Symptoms

Hi all, I'd be very grateful for your thoughts. It's been nearly a year since I went to the club that gave me a barrage of ear problems. Before I went to the club, I'd already developed fluttering (when I yawned or belched) after flying while sick. But the loud music caused high-pitched...

Update: 7 Weeks In — Pitch Gone Up, Ear Fluttering in Response to Percussive Sounds

It’s ok. I’m mostly pain free but get bad episodes that last days with tightness if I belch with mouth closed. Still tugging sensation in ear if I raise eyebrows. Tinnitus is the same. Just under 8 months now.

Relentless negativity is also a coping mechanism. You get the benefit if it works and do not suffer the same disappointment if it doesn’t! Anyways, this thread really hasn’t/won’t change until something new comes out.

Lyrica (prescribed for infection/noise-induced TTTS) takes my tinnitus down to a 1.

Realistically, what will make or break Neuromod is insurance company/public health care approval! The big money’s with the VA—they’re even following a bunch of Veterans’ providers on Twitter. This site’s helpful for individual end users though!

I know I've asked this on the "Support" page, but if anyone has dealt with something similar or has any ideas, I'm all ears (or at least if they aren't hurting). Dentist wants me to get an MRI of my TMJ, but I just find it such a stretch. I've had a slightly deviated mandible for years, but it...

It doesn't work for mechanical issues like ETD.

Presumably, the only type of tinnitus that it will not have a chance of helping is objective (muscular or vascular) tinnitus.

Just thinking over the numbers: if Dr. O'Neill said that around 66% received a clinically significant improvement, doesn't that mean that they improved by at least 13 points on the TFI scale? That's the marker of clinical significance. If that's the case, it's a pretty strong result and in line...
