  • I don't even know where to post. I just wanna complain about my T getting worse despite not being around loud noises.

Maybe you could start a venting thread, where the lower than suicidal problems could go? Just an idea. Other than that, I'm so sorry. I still cant wrap my head around how a condition like this can even exist...
@Ava Lugo Plenty of young people having severe tinnitus as well. One of them would be me.
    tbuzz89
More and more young people are reporting severe and intrusive tinnitus which suggests that all of these earbud headphones, always accessible music and other media via mobile devices, etc. is having a seriously negative impact on hearing health. So I agree, severe tinnitus isn't isolated to older populations.
It dawned on me there are probably more TT members dead because we simply don't know if they just left or...left for good.

Many people get these thoughts when (like you) they are about a month or two in. Often it gets better...

@Gabriel5050, probably so, but many leave forums for other reasons. That would be a good thread on why people leave. Possibly negative posts.

This might sound silly, but I'd be willing to bet many slip away silently due to superstition. When you announce or formalize something, it feels like tempting fate.
It's even louder as of today... Again, no reason. No noise, no nothing. Can't tell exactly when it changed. I just wish it would stop.
    Bill Bauer
Are there days when it seems to be quieter than usual?
    G
@Bill Bauer I appreciate you taking the time to answer. It's always the same loudness. At best it's a bit quieter in the morning. I just don't understand what I am doing wrong to get spikes. My environment is as quiet as it can be.
Ok rn my tinnitus is slightly worse and 2 teeth on the top right of my mouth feel like they're vibrating/tingling. Wtf?
Shouldn't have to play the veterans card to get attention to T/H There's clearly sth wrong when so many young people get it now without wars

3M knew they were defective. Company to pay $9 million after allegedly selling defective combat earplugs to US military. The Minnesota-based 3M Company allegedly sold their dual-ended Combat Arms Earplugs, Version 2, to the military without disclosing defects that decreased the actual effectiveness of the hearing protection the device offered.
We could reeeally use some regenerative medicine/new treatment for t now. It'd be nice to all go back to normal simulatiously whn covid ends

Yeah I really want to go back to work. Can't see that happening with H.
Oh, you have T? Name every sound.
    Christiaan
Well, a plethora of sounds: a loud intermittent hum, fleeting 4 hz pure tone + continuous high pitch cicadas. How is yours?
    Steph1710
I have different tunes in each ear. A pattern of three different notes in one. A low hum. A high wavering tone... The list goes on and on.
It should be physically impossible for me to get damage from the low sounds in my home. The universe is playing a bad joke right now.
    Bill Bauer
You are not necessarily getting any actual damage. However, it sounds like you are getting T spikes. To promote your recovery, you might want to do what you can to avoid all of the noises that you know have the potential to give you a spike. You will need to do this for the next 0.5-2 years. After that you will likely heal and will not be bothered by those sounds.
Spike since 30.09.2020. Apparently listening to computer speakers on low to mid volume for a few hours causes spikes now...
When people say the first few months are hard but don't mention for some it doesn't get easier either :/
    Bill Bauer
It gets easier for many people about 2.5-3 years after the onset.
Worse t for no reason. Do I have to wear earmuffs all day or what?
    Bill Bauer
Have you been exposed to any sound that made your ears feel uncomfortable? You'll want to wear earmuffs around sounds like that, even if your brain is telling you that the sounds aren't that loud. Listen to your body.
    G
Well, maybe the stuck freezer drawers and some cutlery. You wouldn't think twice about them without t
    Bill Bauer
I had had T spikes due to similar seemingly minor noises. I found it helpful to avoid that kind of noises. It took 2 years to get rid of this sensitivity.
I sometimes wonder what happened with users that come struggling with tinnitus and then vanish in a few months. I hope they're doing good.

My experience.... you adapt and just keep going with life
