  • There's gonna be some sore arses from people trying to get their neuromod into their home countries
    P
I'm in U.K. anyway so hopefully we'll be the first to try it
    GSC
suddenly the gay people who have tinnitus are lucky

Dublin is a popular stag/hen do location from where I'm based, so I will just try to sidle along with one of them and maybe pretend the tongue tickler is some sort of USB Rampant Rabbit.
Saw on fbook a head of a ENT unit told them "there won't be a cure in our lifetime". Probs hasn't even heard of bimodal neuromodulation
    Gman
I wish I could get paid a lot of money for being incompentent, doing nothing except treating people like dirt and spouting moronic statements. What a life it would be!

How sad... He should not even be saying that.

    How old was the dude?

Should've replied with "well, maybe not yours"
They said have an MRI for tinnitus....probs cancel it don't wanna risk noise induced t
    Gman
Nah, they meant they have an MRI they use to cause tinnitus.
Bizzare my hearing test showed a loss couple weeks ago, been at the hospital - they said perfect hearing (normal standard audiogram).
Anybody heard of exploding head syndrome? Last night while falling asleep I think I had it, it was an explosion in my head
    hurtingdream
Yup. Sometimes it happens when I am really tired and about to doze off.
2019 Otonomy will be the only pharma that has drugs in clinical trials that target all 3 tinnitus, hearing loss and vertigo.

I like the idea Paul. Would be great to have a Q&A with them. You have a contact person?
    P
I've tried emailing 2 of the address's but they fail to send, I will do a bit of digging & get back to you. 3 drugs starting phase 1/2 this year with a lot of questions we can ask!!
    P
I've been intouch with ATEOS, he thinks they may be aiming for both acute AND chronic, that I'm sure will spark many members interest, as well as the hidden hearing loss synapse repair trial. I'll see what I can find out Markku & find a contact
Looks like Neuromod won't be with us for a few more months - hang on everybody we could be closer to a treatment that actually turns down
    Markku
Yeah, Belgium. But Ireland was supposed to be first anyway, with the rest of EU to follow. Ireland could still happen earlier (fingers crossed).

In the Q+A, Dr. O'Neill says that they're looking at an initial release in Ireland and "thereafter, we're looking at a number of European countries." This seems to suggest a preliminary Ireland release. If anything, it's good news that their European release is in September. They'd likely want to focus on Ireland a few months prior.
    P
I see it as a good thing because if it was released at the same date worldwide or in Europe, the most desperate will rush out to buy it. This way, the rest of the world can Ben updated on the internet/TT what their chances of success are. Take it from somebody who bought a Tinnitool when it was first released, a quick google search 6 months after revealed it was highly unlikely to do anything
Neuromod twitter showing activity, Hubert the boss has spoken. Have they found a treatment that reduces the phantom perception? Time wil tel
I wonder if Neuromod will come with any news during Tinnitus Week?
    P
Maybe a treatment is coming to u sooner than you think. Those with hypercausis were labelled "super-responders" and achieved as much as twice improvement than just T alone. You need to remember that. Get saving
    OnceUponaTime
That would be a great way to kick off the week!
    P
Wouldn't it be lovely, with a release date and price x
Dr Rauschecker has not heard of bimodal neuromodulation I am shocked, maybe it's a load of shite afterall
    Manny
I agree, but perhaps he hasn't heard of it because he is currently very "into" and involved with his own specific theory (not a bad thing!).
    threefirefour
@Manny it's probably something like that. It's actually an issue in Academia of how specialized and divided very specific fields are becoming.
    Manny
@threefirefour yes, and specifically medicine, as the amount of extant knowledge continues to expand exponentially while individual human brain capacity does not.
@dpdx are you excited for mute button?
    dpdx
I CANT WAIT. Almost 2 years of suffering with T and H.
    Bill Bauer
@Jack Straw It sounds like the less severe one's affliction, the lower is the chance that the Mute Button treatment will be effective.
    P
@Bill Bauer there are people on the thread thinking it will cure their 'mild' T. In the Q&A they neither took 'mild' or 'catosphoric' sufferers in the study, I guess we'll have to wait to see the published results.
