New glasses.. but still I get the double vision. Just have to take breaks in between reading....How are you Holly??
Doing the same "click the box with a bike" captcha over and over is sending me a little loopy
    Holly1987
I did get a bus one time, that was a real highlight in my voting journey.
    Holly1987
Voting is kind of addictive, hitting the vote button is so satisfying. I feel like I'm actually doing something that might help.
    Autumnly
I hope we can keep that spirit up and focus on other projects as a community after the competition! :)
I wish you could post pics in the comments under profile posts.

And emojis! Plus, I want other reactions than just Like. If someone is having a crappy day and posts that as a status, I want to be able to Hug or something else supportive.
    OnceUponaTime
    Me too.
My mother was walking our terrier the other morning when another dog, maybe a bulldog/pit, attacked them. The leash twisted around her leg and tripped her. Winnie is fine b/c my mom intervened, but it cost her. Surgery Friday =/. Least walking Winnie in the morning will help me with my T a lil bit.
    Holly1987
Oh my gosh that is awful, so sorry to hear that :(
I wonder if there is a group of people in another forum getting each other to vote. They have made a dangerous enemy! TT folk want a cure.
Maybe I'm a bit of a killjoy but I hate April fools and rarely find pranks funny. 95% of the time I cringe when companies do something.
    TheDanishGirl
I agree. I find about 98% of them cringe-worthy, but there are sometimes 1 or 2 I like.
    TheDanishGirl
Everybody in my country must sort/recycle their waste/garbage, and all danish households got this small green bucket a little while ago, that is only for food waste. Yesterday a danish fashion magazine had an acrticle that stated that this bucket was the IT-item for spring/summer, and I actually feel for it!! And then I had a good laugh......the fashion world is crazy enough, so it could have been for real.
    TheDanishGirl
I like that this magazine had the balls to take piss on the very industry that they represent. It was quite humorous.
Would you endure 4 hrs of super loud tinnitus per day if the rest of the day was completely silent.

I often find it interesting that people who engage in behaviour we find abhorrent in real life often make for people we find captivating in fiction. Take Don, for example. He's a serial cheater who hides things from his loved ones. You wouldn't want to be with him in real life, bu in fiction, we find him a captivating protagonist.
    T
Because they're flawed, and therefore more like us.
    Agrajag364
Flawed people can be the most interesting, we realise with age. I think Don's bad behaviour is meant to be a function of his inner turmoil as he's also portrayed as kind/moral and remorseful.
I find it very sad seeing birds in cages. Just went to a work friends for dinner and they had a little sad parrot all alone in a tiny cage.

About 7 years ago, my employer wanted us to have a team day out at the local zoo. My team couldn't possibly understand that I didn't want to go to the animal prison. I absolutely hate zoos for this reason.
    Holly1987
I hate them too, it's so depressing.
    Drone Draper
One of my old flatmates went to the same zoo on MDMA. He said he could feel the animals' sadness. Fuuuuuuck that.
On the way home from work I was wondering if I would sacrifice a limb to cure my tinnitus. I decided I would be willing to sacrifice one arm
    P
I compare mine to what I'd like to lose the most...T, depression or obsessive compulsive disorder. Having the 3 just feed each other.
    Drone Draper
I wouldn't sacrifice a whole limb, but definitely a finger or two.
    J
el mismo pensamiento tengo yo tambien daria un brazo a cambio del tinnitus
Was just woken up with a completely new tone in my right ear, after about 20 minutes it went away. All those old feelings of panic returned.
    New Guy
Possibly fleeting t...or an LED light bulb. I thought I had a new tone from an LED bulb last week. Glad it's gone!
    Holly1987
It hasn't returned but when it happened I started sweating and shaking, I felt like physically getting up and running away from it. Tinnitus is such a tormentor, nothing scares me more tbh.
    New Guy
I agree. It's scary because it's so unknown. I'm hoping with time I'll learn what to expect and always be cautious in noisy surroundings.
Dieting is so hard, I peaked too early for my wedding and now I can't maintain my weight loss till July.
Just made oatmeal with dates and golden syrup, quite delicious. Overnight oats are also fun but I prefer it hot I think.
In other news I just finished quite a good documentary about a man that lived peacefully with bears until unfortunately they eat him :(
Guys I legitimately just had my worst ear related experience since getting tinnitus, I just cried on the phone to my partner for 10 minutes.
How accurate are noise measuring apps? Currently using one called "sound meter" seems ok.
    Jack Straw
usually 3-5 decibels higher than a professional db meter. But it also depends on the phone.
Does anyone else get a spike after exercising? Lifting weights/circuit training makes mine goes nuts afterwards. V frustrating..
I get very sore ears in cold weather. Damn I miss the days I had normal ears. I'm 50% mad 50% sad this is now my life :(
    Manny
That's so weird, I have the exact same thing! And only since acoustic trauma.
    HanaK
I don't get sore ears but wind noise is absolutely unbearable. It just sounds so damaging even if I'm just walking lol.
I wish I knew how much noise I can tolerate without my tinnitus getting worse so I can just get on with my life.
    TheDanishGirl
And I have had the some thought, that if I get to old age I will say fuck it and go to loud events all the time......even if T gets worse I will only have to endure it a shorter time period.
    HanaK
I feel you. I ventured out and decided to listen to music/sing a bit last night. It wasn't even for 30 minutes and my volume was at 3-4 bars, but my T was screaming after.... Can we not even enjoy life? :(
    OnceUponaTime
    Dont we all!?
I wish voluntary euthanasia was easily accessible. It would bring me a lot of comfort to know there was a way out should it get unbearable.
    S
@Drone Draper can you simply buy that poison somewhere? I'm curious...
    Drone Draper
Yup. The finality of the euthanasia option would work well for me in this instance. I can probably manage what I have now for the rest of my life, but a sudden surge to the hell that Bam or dpdx describes is more pain than I could live with.
    S
Interesting... I'm glad you're doing better :). Let's hope neuromod releases their device sooner than expected!
My spike has gone away, back to baseline. It's crazy how even a slight increase can make it appear SO much louder.
    Holly1987
It's only taken me 2 years to figure this out but stress related spikes (so far) always go away after approx 3 days.
To answer your question. I do believe that all God's promises are true and can be claimed by Christians; however they are all CONDITIONAL on how we are living our lives ( see Deut. 28). I hope this helps you understand!
    Jazzer
....he never writes - never phones...?
I'm getting really into smoothies (earmuffs are a must for blenders btw) tonight I had dates, banana, almond milk, cacao powder and ice.
Is there anything more scary than those like 10 second random bursts where your tinnitus goes SUPER LOUD then goes back to baseline
    Drone Draper
I've seen a few people on this forum say their partner left them. It's pretty terrible. This condition is one of the worst things I could imagine.
    CrystalB
It is hard to maintain a relationship, especially if your partner doesn't understand or care.
    Drone Draper
I feel like if my girlfriend dumps me, I will need to meet someone on a tinnitus dating site.

"I enjoy peaceful mornings, campfires, rain and fans. I also enjoy bi-modal stimulation and would like to have someone to share my time sitting still with a thing stuck to my tongue".
Didn't wash my hands in a crowded public toilet because the hand dryer was so fucking loud I had to get out of there.
    Julien87
A flacon of antibacterial gel can be helpful ;)
    Drone Draper
You not down with the earmuffs outside life? I have decided I will wear earmuffs at in the street and public spaces except work for a while and see how I get on.
    New Guy
I always wear my x5a's in public facilities just in case.
The last two nights my tinnitus has been very mild, I would say a 50% reduction. Nothing has changed in my life or health...
    Holly1987
Oh also I hope it doesn't sound like I'm minimizing mild tinnitus, it can be just as debilitating for some. I've just had it a while now so I am coping better.
    New Guy
I've noticed the t in my head gets louder before a quiet spell as well. I wonder why it works like that?
    Holly1987
    It's so weird!
I find like 90% of all online Tinnitus articles to be terrible "although not life threatening tinnitus can be bothersome"
    TheDanishGirl
@SugarMagnolia - so true that there are "fates worse then death" - there are many illnesses and conditions, severe T with H included, where I would certaintly prefer death. Death is not something I am to scared of......suffering endlessly is!
    Holly1987
    Drone Draper
    Absolute nonsense.

"Although not life threatening, tinnitus can ruin your ability to sleep and concentrate for life, akin to Chinese audio torture. In addition, it is a known cause for suicide".
