  • I miss sleeping through the night.

    6 hours is all i can get… 7 if I'm lucky .
    RunningMan
Nort was the only prescription I took for depression/anxiety but couldn't reach 100mg dose due to side effects, but 50mg for 2 full months last summer. Weaning off slowly for months now. Otherwise some supplements and zolpidem for now. Lack of sleep definitely a problem.
    makeyourownluck
@RunningMan @ZFire sounds horrible. Was rough for the first 8 months or so but I reverted back to my old self. In my circle I'm known for my ability to fall asleep anywhere.
Duloxetine is really helping with the nerve pain. Feel a bit more normal now. Doing OK ear wise. T/pressure still the same.
Are you starting to notice any improvement? I feel like we are stuck in the same boat, can't even sit comfortably for more than ten minutes without pain in my sit bone and the muscles are all cramped up, doing physiotherapy without much luck so far, only seems to be making things worse, what the hell did we even do to deserve this?
    makeyourownluck
I'm working on changing my mindset. We didn't do anything to deserve this. Shit just happens.

No much change, still lying down almost all day which isn't very comfortable but it's the best of a bad bunch.

I'm going to get a Botox injection into my obturator internus muscle if this new medication doesn't work. Then consider diagnostic nerve blocks to try figure out which (nerve(s)) are acting up.

The pain is so wide spread (from my shoulder blades down to my feet) so I think I have multiple nerves that are irritated.
Hey there, saw your post about your ear fullness after a year.
Going strong with it 5 months now, with the nice bonus of Hearing Loss in the mix. Woohoo........
    Did it improved at all?
    Best wishes.
    makeyourownluck
Unfortunately not. It's been almost 2 years now. But honestly, I hardly even think about it anymore. Bigger fish to fry so to speak. I also have hearing loss.
Hey how is your nerve pain ? It might be the pudendal nerve that is acting up , do the drugs work? It can take some time before they start to have an effect.
    makeyourownluck
Yeah some nerve is angry anyway. Doctors aren't sure which one pudendal or ilioingunal. Or a combination of both. Pain medication helps a bit. Valium is works best. My life is still severely limited. I spend about 23 hrs a day lying down

I hope you find some relief soon, I have been suffering from burning nerve pain myself for a couple of weeks, they don't really seem to find what's causing it, been prescribed Trazodone+amitriptylin, it helps but now my tinnitus is spiking, nerve issues can take a while but things will improve .
Hey Lady Luck, how we doing lately?
    ZFire
Woah, wasn't expecting this many likes. It goes to show that there's many people here that care about your well-being.

Or maybe they like how I called you 'Lady Luck' :)
    makeyourownluck
Thanks for reaching out @ZFire and everyone else. I'm not doing great tbh, right in the midst of it. Don't want to be too fatalistic…. But yeah, it's hard going atm
    ZFire
Damn… I'm really sorry. I can't begin to imagine what you're going through, battling that horrible nerve pain on a daily basis. It hurts seeing someone who's my age going through such a ordeal. I'm not going to bombard you with 'advice' that you probably have already heard or tired of hearing. I know how hard you're trying. <3
Currently on gabapentin, Nortriptyline, diazepam and lidocaine patches for nerve pain. Nothing is working.Any suggestions are welcomed
    makeyourownluck
@MindOverMatter - basically everything from my belly button down. It's a nightmare. Most intense in groin area. Can't sit at all. I got an iud removed just before onset..
    makeyourownluck
Waiting for neurologist, things take a long time in the UK. I'm on 75mg Nortriptyline, 1200mg gabapentin, 15mg diazepam, tramadol when it gets intense but I try limit that as it makes me feel weird. I don't like taking all these things
    makeyourownluck
Luckily no effect on tinnitus. Just need something that actually works. I've had to go off sick from work the past week and I only just got the job 3 months ago.
Life is shit. That's my final assessment of the situation.
    Lurius
@CRGC Yeah, I thought about that. That makes more sense. And I didn't mean that not working 2008 is a good thing. I'm practically disabled, I would do almost anything to get rid of this.
    makeyourownluck
Yeah @CRGC, just not sure I want to keep wading through shit. Especially when the only thing on the other side is more shit.
    CRGC
I feel you @makeyourownluck ... we can't be 100% sure that shit's the only thing on that other side though. We just have to hang in there and hope for positive change. Because change always comes. Nothing stays the same forever <3
hey, i see, you have once had a low hum sound developed. Does this stopped ever since you have developed it?
    makeyourownluck
Yeah, it comes and goes. It's not a bit issue for me anymore. Was never as loud as the other noises anyway. Try ignore it as best you can. @Aschenherz
    A
thank you for your comments, Guys. Unfortnately, the hum is my biggest noise, but it could also be, because it is new, that it is very loud.
    seppl
Have this hum for 15 days. Have normal T too. The hum is sometimes constant, sometimes intermitted. Louder when laying on my back or look up. Hope this Monster will go away.
Suffering severe nerve pain when i sit or lie down. Anyone taking Amitriptyline for nerve pain? T listed as uncommon (1:100) side effect.
    Forever hopeful
Neurontin was originally approved for post herpetic neuralgia and then more broadly used for nerve pain. And sometimes used off label as a mood stabilizer but that's dose dependent. I just wondered if it was an option for you. Both of my cousins are on gabapentin for nerve pain. One has a lot of neuralgia in her feet despite not being diabetic. She also has tinnitus. No side effects.
    makeyourownluck
Thanks @Forever hopeful. I'm a little nervous of any medication that mentions tinnitus, no matter the rarity. Gonna get off these antibiotics in 9 days and if things are still this bad I'll have no choice but to try something. This level of pain is not something I am prepared to live with.
    makeyourownluck
Sorry @Uklawyer, forgot to ask, what dose we're you taking when you T increased?
Just read this about helping people with ear fullness
    makeyourownluck
Great find @Rockman. Thank you! I've been researching this for over a year and have never seen that paper! Will show it to my doctor and see what they say.
    Rockman
Excellent! I just happened to stumble upon it googling ear pain remedies. If I knew how to make a new thread with informative info on it I would. Another one I came across was emoxypine.. which is otc
    makeyourownluck
much appreciated @Rockman. It would be beyond great to get rid of the fullness. I was kinda hoping antibiotics might get rid of it tbh. In the back of my mind, I always thought the fullness was caused by some low grade infection, but was too afraid to take the antibiotics. Seems funny considering the amount of pills I am taking now.
If I see no improvement by tomorrow I am going to be admitted to hospital. Do you get to choose what drugs you get in hospital?
Been poorly but muddling through in this new job. Have a pretty bad infection and been prescribed Augmentin and Metronidazole. Are these OK?
14 months now and the ear fullness is still as bad as ever. Carrying on with life, but it's tough going.
    makeyourownluck
The movement - it feels like there is something crawling in my ear. Horrible imagery, but accurate.
    makeyourownluck
Sometimes feels like my throat on that side is covered in something. I'm thinking the nerves around that area are just fried and creating weird signals.
    makeyourownluck
I can't do the gum because I have TMJD. I might try hard boiled sweets. Thanks for the suggestion @ZFire.
How did the job interview go?
    ZFire
It shouldn't be a problem no?
    makeyourownluck
I have had a shit year health wise. Autoimmune, T, a few other things. I've been off work/uni for 12 months. Doesn't look great.
    ZFire
I thought maybe a drug test is all employers would cared about, but I see you guys do things differently over there in Scotland. Anyways, I sympathize with you. On top of all that, lets also not forget you're raising a child too which is another demanding job in and of itself.
