  • Update#2: T is now very faint at my job (30db). I hope this continues. I did notice alot of popping this morning. No meds yet just teas
    Utdmad89
Tbf you have to have a shit tone of turmeric for it actually todo anything for inflammation.
    Marina Moon
Do you think there is a positional component to your T because of how you sleep?
    SumGuy
@Utdmad89 yeah I noticed that those users were drinking a shit load lol. Maybe it didnt do anything

@marianamoon when I sleep on my back it seems to go away. I'm thinking its a sinus issue or ETD since my t isnt from loud noise
I wonder what happened to all the old users here who were super active. I hope their t went away
    Utdmad89
I think there was a thread about this. Most just got on with their life's, without any changes. And some habituated. Some have also passed.

A lot of people move on with their life, I only came back to give personal advice and be helpful.
    SumGuy
@Utdmad89 hoping all of us can move forward and live a nice life.
That john adams fellow really tried hard to find treatments

@Marshall I really appriciate that, its nice to see that it is possible to move pass t (at least for milder cases)
can anyone help with with tips on how to stop the panic when you hear your T? its really stressing me out
this thing went away in the morning and came back. So tired of this shit
    BB23
If it can go away for a while, perhaps it will go away permanently for you after some time
    SumGuy
I hope so, I'm trying to not feel despair or anxiety over it since it could make it worse. I just dont get how it decides when to activate.
    crescentsky
I think you'll be fine. Just give yourself a couple more months.
personal log #1 : T cannot be heard at 29db again. I am measuring using my iphone. Following trend from yesterday.
    BB23
I hope you never hear it again and get in with your life, forget this site ever existed...
What do you consider the categories of T to be? Like what masking db do you think is moderate t? etc
    Tryn2BHopeful
Haven't found a dB yet I can't hear this shit through, it's either the frequency or the reactivity. Masking doesn't exist for me :(
Silence! rn its 29 db in this study room and I cant hear that monster rn. temporary but im going to stop studying and enjoy this moment
    Tryn2BHopeful
50 dB rn and it's clear as day lol... I think you will be OK. If it doesn't go completely away you will likely habituate. Try not to focus on it.
    RunningMan
Nice. I haven't experienced complete silence in over 20 years, and not even anywhere near that in over 2 years.
    Utdmad89
    You're very lucky
When you cover your ears, I dont hear the buzzing but a motor like noise. Like my muscles moving alot. Do you guys hear that too?
    SumGuy
@MindOverMatter I worry this is from stopping caffiene cold turkey due to my ear infection. Doc said to not drink caffiene during treatment and I used to drink a decent amount for the gym everyday. Maybe it messed up my CNS?
    SumGuy
its really strange. If I put on some headphones, I can a slight tinnitus sound but if I put may hands to my ears and cover them, I hear a motor like vibrations.
    MindOverMatter
@SumGuy TTTS is usually caused by some sort of acoustic trauma and/or stress/anxiety. Often in combination with h. Im pretty sure you stopping drinking coffee has nothing to do with it.
Took care of this body by eating well, sleeping, not drinking for 25 years and this is how my brain repays me. It deserves a bullet
    L along the way
Sounds more like you're deserving healing.. this stuff in unfair.. i hope it gets better
of course, everything was fine and now I have a super high pitch whistle in my ear thats worse than before! I'm sorry friends, I'm defeated.
    Pixelito
Improvement doesn't always happen in a straight line, so don't lose hope. The fact you're having quieter moments is a good sign.
    Tryn2BHopeful
@SumGuy its the nature of T. It can fluctuate for alot of reasons. Stress and sleep can be big factors. Sodium, caffeine, msg... Yours could be related to fluid in your ears so allergies could affect it. Trust me we all understand the feeling all to well. Hang in there.
    SumGuy
@Pixelito thank you, yeah Ive been having some silence epsecially in the mornings. I know for a fact that its gone down alot just want to be free of this :(

Im currently in a 34db room at work and I cannot hear it. I know I used to hear it pretty loudly before
update: it comes and goes, a bit louder sometimes randomly. Hoping it heals up.
more moments of slience, the mosquito like noise has turned into a hiss.
    Tryn2BHopeful
Not to jinx it, but it seems like a good sign that you are having moments of silence. No silence here in 10 months! Happy to see someone getting better!
    Utdmad89
Seems like your one of the lucky ones
    SumGuy
I'm so grateful, I really hope it goes away 100%
my t went from really loud buzzing to a quiet mosquito sound that is still kinda annoying. Anyone know if this is a good sign?
    Jammer
    Sounds good to me.
    4Grace
My dream / count your blessings. You will be okay.
    SumGuy
@Jammer @4Grace thank you friends, I wont take things for granted after reading stories here. I hope you find some peace today.
at work, my right ear suddenly had a super high pitched noise and a wierd pop feeling occurred. My ear ringing stopped wtf??
Really good day today, cant really notice it much.
    Tryn2BHopeful
    I hope your progress continues.
    LukeYoung
The next step once you're comfortable is to stay distracted and come on here less and less
    SumGuy
thank you man, me too. I hope it does too but keeping an open mind that it could get worse
Compared to it ringing like 40db before, and I think its much lower now. I dont want to get my hopes up but I really wish I'm improving(2)
Does anyone know how to tell if youre getting better? Ive been measuring how much noise I need to drown it out and its around 30db now. (1)
    LukeYoung
30db is great. Honestly that's my quietest days but lately mines about 60db.
once again, my experiment worked. If I sleep on either side, t goes away! I wonder what this might mean? Hopefully someone can help
why did it go up?? I havent been around loud noises at all, and its been a few days of improvement
    H
Can see you think your cause is an ear infection. And your tinnitus is somewhat intermittent? Have to give it at least 6 months before you can worry about anything
    Utdmad89
That's just what T does I'm afraid. It sucks.
    SumGuy
@Hardwell Hi yes, it seems like thats the only logical explaination for my t since its only in one ear and the same ear that had the infection. Its steadily reducing until yesterday, and it was really bad. Couldnt sleep :(
wtf I took a napped on my left side and the ringing went down and was barely audible at 30 db (silent bedroom), and when I got up it starts
    LukeYoung
Mine is usually quieter after waking up and gradually gets louder . Something to do with the brain and sleep state.
When should I give up hope? Its been a few weeks from my ear infection :/
    Tryn2BHopeful
6 months is when they say it becomes Chronic.
    Yosemite
A few weeks is basically nothing, I'd say. There are success stories of people whose T subsided within the first year or two. Sometimes time proves to be a healer.
    SumGuy
I think its been getting better, I hope it goes away but I feel thats wishful thinking
    Hows everyone doing today?
    RunningMan
This was actually a better day for me tinnitus-wise than most recent days. More of a staticy hissing instead of single tone piercing squeal.
    BrOKeN_1
I'm feeling fairly decent today. Thanks for asking :)
When I was sleeping this morning, I felt a ton of muscle or something spasams near my ear. Was scary
    Tryn2BHopeful
    Sounds like ttts
    SumGuy
yeah it was really weird, when I tried to relax my face it noise actually went away for a bit.
