So lucky. Enjoy your life and savour every minute of it.

Now that you've learned...never give yourself an opportunity to have a real reason to come back to this forum. Remember what you've experienced--forever.
    guys its finally gone....
    SumGuy
I noticed it being reduced to a small mosqiuto sound and I kept doing the valsula movement which now I know was dangerous to do, but I did it once and felt a very loud pop + pain in the ear that had T and later that day it went away and so far has been gone.
    ECP
"Hit the road, T. And don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more!"
    Marina Moon
    Congrats!!!!
I want to write a success story for people to have hope but I consider success when it goes away 100%. Lets hope it does guys
    RunningMan
I would consider a 20 dB drop to be pretty successful. That's about a 90% drop in volume.
    SumGuy
yeah, I just want people to know that it CAN reduce and to not lose hope.
Ghost preworkout seems to eliminate most of my faint t. Not sure why. Maybe some type of additive or ingrident?
Does anyone know if an MLB game would be too loud? I got free tickets to a dodgers game in a few weeks.
    kingsfan
They have a big PA system there and people probably yelling in the seats behind you. They'll be a lot of traffic in the parking on the way out and probably cars honking horns at each other while you are walking to your car.

I don't know what your tinnitus is like or what you can handle.
    gameover
Just don't be stupid. Don't go.
    SumGuy
    yeah, ill skip thanks fellas.
is it strange that green tea or caffeine honestly gets rid of most my t? Ive been drinking some macca and its helped alot
so does this get worse as someone ages?
    SumGuy
@RunningMan so basically, even if mine reduced a ton, im pretty much screwed because as I get older I'll lose hearing and the T will be louder right?
    RunningMan
It doesn't get bad for everyone, but it's just more common in older people and people with hearing loss. I wouldn't worry too much decades into the future and just take precautions against noise trauma.
    SumGuy
@RunningMan thanks friend. I hope we find some relief in the future :)
Just another update, t has been reduced to only annoying when I have headphones on/block my ears with my hands.
    SumGuy
@Pixelito no no type of spikes from what I can tell I would say a .5. I can mask it with a simple tik tok video on the lowest setting (iphone speakers) or going for a walk in a silent neighborhood.

@Blue Crab Just a bit, but its really low and I fall asleep perfectly fine. It seems to go away if I just sleep on the ear that has t.
    Juliane
    @SumGuy Congratulations. Consider yourself healed.
    M
    You will be healed
Kinda dumb question but I really miss the gym. I used to drink caffeine before my workouts 150mg. Does anyone know if I can worsen my T?
Checking in on you how is your ear doing now?
    SumGuy
Hey man thanks for reaching out. Its gone down to a very low level and I can only really notice at night if there is literally no noise going on.

I'm hoping it goes away 100%

    how are you?
    Thizzle
I'm okay could be definitely better if everything resolved. I'm only a month and a half in with this. How long have you had it?
    SumGuy
about a month and a half in my right ear only. It's def been improving over the past few weeks slowly.
Yep, it started to be on and off tinnitus. Ive created a few tests to monitor it and it def has gone away at times.
a little update: life has pretty much returned to normal? I dont feel much anxiety and I can go long stretches wihtout hearing the ring.
    gameover
Congrats. Now, go live your life, be careful and try to advocate for us stuck in the hell of this.
I believe there will be a pharma treatment soon. I think it will be a pill that would only be used for extreme T and later refined for other
    weehiru
I'll believe it when I see it, put it that way ;) There isn't enough priority in tinnitus research for me to be hopeful that we'll see anything remotely close to a treatment anytime soon. Praying we at least get an update on Shore's device ASAP though
    Varda
Never. Humans will evolve into some sort of animal that doesn't even have a cochlea before they cure T.
    SumGuy
There just gotta be some way to reduce activity in the brain when it comes to these phantom noises. I've saw some members here used retigabine to reduce their t. Maybe a refinement of that could help. I'm no scientist tho :/
I initially got mine from an infection but when they did CT scan they found mucous still in my ears! It's been 11 months and I still have it coming out of my ears! I am super happy for you that it's dwindling down to nothing.
    SumGuy
I also had it in my right ear! sems like we have very similar T experience.
    M
@SumGuy I don't think it's the same. Yours seems way milder. Mine is bad. High pitched clicks, hisses and screeches. Mine is not exactly fluid- it's thicker.
    SumGuy
I see, yeah. I hope it goes away when the fluid is finally drained for you.
I have unilateral t and when I sleep on the ear that has it, after a while it goes away. I feel like a worm is in it. Anyone else have this?
1 month update: T has reduced to basically only hearable in sub 30 db rooms. Mostly only when I lay down in bed. Able to sleep decently
    gameover
If so, you got a 2nd chance at life. Do not fuck it up. I am jealous. I am tethering at the edge of ending it.
    SumGuy
@gameover yeah man, I think I did get one. I'm never forgetting this horror.
    J
Like everyone is saying: Keep protecting. Your ears are hurt but your brain is adjusting and lowering the noise (or however you wish to view it). Enjoy life while knowing it can get worse so be very careful. You're young, have hope! You might even see a real treatment someday.
Anyone else laugh about all the bullshit you stressed about before T hit lol. I have no idea why I stressed. T is much much worse.
    cyberspace
Yes, but long covid hit and sometimes I think I took only having T for granted. I have dysautonomia/POTS hell now and almost faint multiple times a day. The more health issues you have the harder it gets to deal with any of them
    RunningMan
Sadly, now more minor things that didn't bother me much before now cause a lot more anxiety, when in the past I could have brushed them off. On top of T, everything just seems worse.
    crescentsky
I used to take care of my other health issues but since T, I have given up to give F about it. I think I'll be relieved if I was told I have whatever terminal and have a couple of months to live. I wouldn't feel stressed or anxious about it. I would host a massive party to celebrate lol.
How do you guys get haircuts? I'm kinda nervous to get mine done by my barber lol
    HighleyTall
I use a professional clipper too, but last time I used my earplugs for the first time. Being very cautious.
    Pinhead
I've decided to just let my hair grow for now. Every time I go to the barber, it spikes immensely, and it has given me one of my permanent tones.
    SumGuy
ill ask my barber if not , Ill just got to a salon that uses sissors. thx guys
I had a fleeting tinnitus moment that was scary asf. Anyone know if these are a bad or good thing?
    HearingHell
Almost everyone with tinnitus gets fleeting tinnitus. Nothing to worry about.
    Pinhead
I get probably two a day on average. It's when they stay that really sucks, and that does happen. Each one sends me into a panic. I've had them in important meetings and had to run out for fear that it would stay.
    gameover
They don't matter. Initially they freaked me out, but they are harmless. I almost like them know if they happen during the periods of my load static T, as they completely turn it off! I wish they would stay actually....
faint now, noticed major improvements. Ears no longer crack. MY GP said to take another round of amoxcillin to kill off the last baterial
    weehiru
That's great to hear mate! Fingers crossed for you
    4Grace
    Wow that's amazing !
My birthday is in a few days, and I just straight told my friends and family I couldnt go out. It sucks but I need to take care of my T
    weehiru
Same here mate, on the 18th for me. It's my 24th. Friends are confused why I'm not celebrating this year, but I truthfully couldn't muster up the energy to even if I wanted to. I hope you have a fun and celebratory birthday regardless
    SumGuy
thanks man, honestly hope my t goes away soon.
    4Grace
So sorry to hear this. You are not alone. All holidays and celebrations can be difficult. I hope you find a way to experience some joy on that day.
flonase spiked my t back to where I first started wtf. I did what my ENT said :/ im freaking out
    SumGuy
i only did one spray thats it I hope its not forever
    SumGuy
