Hey @Liam_Cairns, how are you doing these days? Ears take forever to heal. Have you done an MRI scan to rule out inner ear cochlear hydrops etc? Try to only focus on the positive stories here. This is so hard. I'm going thru what you did now, but we will get there.

That actually makes sense since the fluid would be holding the hair in an abnormal position. People with hydrops often tend to have fluctuating hearing, too. This would obviously be true only during the episodes of hydrops, though, right?

I would get a hearing test done to see where your hearing stands. It may be that you have Cochlear Hydrops which can be treated.

@Samantha R, yeah I'm wondering if my issue is still a form of Cochlear Hydrops, after a week of the Prednisone with no changes I was put on Dyazide and to cut the pill in half. I have been on that for about a week and haven't really noticed any changes oddly.

I had a follow up Ecog at Hough that was much more in the normal range (I need to see if I can get those records though) and did not show results within the hydrops range. My hearing was the same at this visit.

Hydrops is like Menieres without it being a degenerative disease that causes permanent hearingloss and sever tinnitus. Hydrops comes in episodes and can affect your balance as tiny crystals form on the tiny hairs in your cochlear. Love glynis x

Interestingly, my very first diagnosis was also hydrops, and when I asked my ENT doc how she came to that conclusion, she said "by process of elimination: when we can't figure out what it is, we just say it's hydrops". It was obviously the wrong diagnosis too.
