I was told 6 months as well but by some one on here who has gone through it ,she said it was a slow process ,slight improvement after 6 more so after a year.

be careful with the remeron,i was only on it 3 weeks and it made mine louder so tapered of and its blown both my ears ,its way way worse now,for 3 weeks of sleep its ruined my life,its that bad.

yes mine is high frequency loss,wont touch another med again,hope yours calms down for you.

Hi, my ears have been damaged by mirtazapine after only 3 weeks of use and they feel way worse than they did when my tinnitus first began, I get a lot of pain and the eardrums feel tight and also they feel weird in general, any one else have this after meds damage?

So just an update,went to see a neurologist today regards all the zaps and electricity,did some tests but looks like it could be another 3 months of these symptoms,for 3 weeks of tablets months of hell,sounds are still horrible different electric sound nearly every day,what a life,sorry fed up...

Hi Hugo,can i ask what other symptoms did you get after stopping,i stopped mirtazapine after only 3 weeks and 3 months later im still in hell,way worse t and brain zaps and current in my head,did you have any of these?

I would guess so,did a hearing test last week and ive lost hearing from june when i had one prior to these tablets,it all happened when i came of them.

Hi,just had another hearing test this week,lost hearing since june when i last had one,all down to 3 weeks of mirtazapine,still struggling with withdrawal effects,current ,bran zaps,still down xx

This drug is far from safe,when coming of it i had to go to A &E it got that bad and even the doctor side the withdrawal effects were the worst she had seen and that it was poison,would never have gone on it if i had known,just thought id get insomnia,i wish,every day is a struggle now .

Sounds like youve been lucky Michael , wish i had been that lucky,go for long walks to help you sleep its safer.

let us know how you get on Michael,my symptoms did not start till around the 8th day of being of them and both my ears were ringing and vibrating ,and i think i lost hearing ,waiting for a check up but i know i have. .

hi snow,i would try to do a real slow taper as its pretty rough coming of but even after the 3 weeks i was on it it was changing the sounds i had,in hell at the moment but maria is giving me hope and strength,good luck

yes i was given it due to lack of sleep etc to do with t,15mg,did that does for aound a week then tapered of ,ending on just a quarter of a tablet as it was making my t louder,if only i knew what would happen,this is hell,not on any meds now to scared. thanks

Hi, Does anyone's tinnitus sound electrical? Mine has gone this way since withdrawing of mirtazapine, and it feels like I'm getting brain zaps. It's been 7 weeks like this. Has anyone else had this? The zaps are on one side of my head, hitting my cheek and neck, they're horrible.
