    Depression — The Silent Killer

Let me clarify. My suicidal thoughts are not something that sprouted because of my tinnitus or hyperacusis. Most everyone here is focusing on my last question. Let me be clear, my tinnitus and hyperacusis doesn't effect my life like they use to. In fact, when I did have bad hyperacusis I wasn't...

    Depression — The Silent Killer

Anxiety and depression are not foreign concepts to me. Most of my life since I was about the age of 10, I've had some sort of depression or anxiety with varying severity. Recently, it has gotten much worse. And I'm beginning to think I need to resort to medication to help. I get these moments...

This person actually ended up hurting themselves further because of their extreme anxiety. They ended up irrigating their ears (obv not a good idea) and developed Hyperacusis for a 2nd time. This all happened because he allowed all of this to ruin his life.

    Do I Have Hyperacusis? I Don't Know What's Happening

I wasn't sure while reading this if it was Hyperacusis. Then I read "distortion" than it became clear. Yes this is hyperacusis. Fortunately it seems mild for you. I'd suggest finding what exactly caused it or a period in which it began. For me it was loud noise exposure. And my Hyperacusis came...

I Don't Believe 20% of People Have Tinnitus

I'm pretty sure a lot of stars have Tinnitus and hearing loss. Think about it this way, everyone (a lot of people) wants to be a star. Imagine having the whole star dome, singing extravaganza ruined if celebrities started coming out with their tinnitus and hearing loss. I garentee its a common...

Tbh Google says hyperacusis is rare. I doubt that. I just think some people have it mild and don't mind it. I've also met other people who have hyperacusis (hearing sensitivities). I just think it's much more common. However most people's aren't not as severe as others.

Also I doubt an AC system could be causing. But I want to highlight that I am not you. Therefore what my tolerance level to sound is, is different to yours. Hyperacusis = Constant Pain or Not?

Tbh you would rather want stabbing pain instead of lingering pain. Wondering... Hyperacusis and TTTS Relationship

Yes they do. Hyperacusis is believed to be in the brain or the auditory nerve. Or both! (Depends on who you ask and if its loudness or pain Hyperacusis.). TTTS is related to the facial nerve. The muscle in the middle ear are connected to the facial nerve. A quick Google search will tell you...

    Delayed Pain

That's why you had a spike. Stop doing that. If sound on things you can control is discomforting to you then lower the volume to a comforting level. Over protection makes hyperacusis worse it. Does Acoustic Neuroma Cause Hyperacusis?

You won't know if you have neuroma unless you have an MRI. It's not simply something one can diagnose on their own. Cancer is likely the least thing to cause hyperacusis. And even then brain tumors generally, the symptoms come up periodically and slowly progress for months. Not weeks or days...
