I have no idea how to habituate to my high frequency tinnitus (~15000 Hz). It's been over 2 years and it's only gotten worse. Only specific YouTube videos come close to masking it.
That’s not how the drug works though. It doesn’t mess with any receptors in your dick that will prevent you from getting it up after stopping the drug. Your ability to get an erection will just return to how it was before starting the drug. So idk, I’m still conflicted but I feel like the risk...
I feel like the odds of worsening tinnitus from low dose Cialis are very rare though. I mean, everything we do is basically a Russian roulette for our ears.
Klonopin 1 mg 2x a week as needed works amazing for me. It’s honestly one of the only things that keeps me going. I know that I will get at least a few hours of silence a week.
I decided not to do it after reading about the adverse effects. It would be around a 30% chance of my tinnitus worsening. I just couldn't take that risk.
I’m leaning towards bailing out of the trial. I really can’t risk my tinnitus getting worse. @Sentinel’s post kinda scared me as well. I am sorry everyone, I hope my reasoning sits well with all of you.
I've had my tinnitus for around 10 months and I've noticed that worsening trend already. I'm pretty positive I'm going to go through with it. I'll let y'all know how it goes when I get the injection on Thursday and the following weeks after.
8/10 tinnitus is definitely not maskable by your car and radio. I think you have your scale skewed a bit, unless you’re basing your scale off your own tinnitus.
Update: First appointment is tomorrow (July 8th). They said the injection will be delivered 2 weeks after the first appointment, so on July 22nd. I will continue to give updates as things progress.
I’ll let you know how it goes for me. The place I’m supposed to go to is super unresponsive and I’ve had to call a dozen times to even set up a date for the appointment. In my opinion, it’s super irresponsible how lackadaisical they’re taking this study.
Personally, Clonazepam reduces my tinnitus to basically nothing for around 4-5 hours. It’s quite addictive but, when taken moderately (once or twice a week), shouldn’t have you develop an addiction.
If you have to listen closely to see if your tinnitus is still there, you should count your blessings. Odds are you will easily habituate and live a normal life in a few months. Just protect your ears from noise and ototoxic medication from now on and you should be fine.
Most things point in the direction that the drug failed though. Having no scientifically significant improvements on the audiogram in any groups does not look well for the drug’s efficacy.
I mean you could see an ENT but there’s really not much they can do for you. Your best bet is to just hope that a treatment comes out soon, which could actually be very soon.
I personally don't know. Depends how I adapt to tinnitus over the years. Thankfully, I'm only 21 and expect to see a treatment/cure before I plan on having children.
Most definitely. I was already a very anxious person pre-tinnitus. Like you said, I’d speculate that most members on this forum suffered from greater anxiety, before tinnitus, compared to the general public.
