Live has changed by the T but letting the T rule your live is something totally different. You should do everything you were used to do, but perhaps in another way. I do go to the theatre knowing the next day will nog be that great. But I refuse to let the T let me live my live. I agree with Kazue.

A MRI will show everything on small details; the hearing bones and blood vessels if a contrast fluid is used. It also might show a type of tumor, but I dont't know the english term for it. ( Vestibular schwannoma?) Most of the times a MRI will not show the cause of the T, it just rules out some.

A GP and an ENT. Had some tests. Conclusion: cochlea damage. And then my brain made the sound I cannot hear anymore. So as Kazue said, it is a phantom noise. A bit sad is the fact that more tones occur and the t went to the other ear also. (or the audible cortex is playing games with me..)

I occasionally take sleeping medication if I'm wrecked. Lately I try to do relaxation exercises and they do help me fall asleep faster. Don't be frustrated if it does not work for you right away, that will keep you awake..;)...

What can I say besides I know what you're experiencing right now. The T comes with ups and downs like a predator jumping it's prey. If you feel bad it'll get you untill you're up on your feet again. So hang in there Tweaker. Things will get better!

Ppl are not bad in general, they just don't understand the full impact is has on a human. It's not just the sound, it's the effect is has on everything, every aspect of your live.

Too much salt is a silent killer. Saying that I think it is not just the salt but a healthy diet like @MikeP505 just mentioned. A diet, exercise, sleep, avoiding stresse etc are keys for a healthy lifestyle.

I'm a runner and the T increases during the run. But I enjoy being outdoors, it releases stress etc. So in a way I benefit more then "suffering: from the T.

Started CBT yesterday so it's a bit too early to say anything about it. But for the first time in years I felt heard, understood and listened to. That was a relief to start with.

Drinking alcohol makes no difference on my T. But after a few glasses of whiskey I don't care anymore..;)

A T can affect your body, it's a psychsomatic unit. Everything interferes. But I have never hear it like you describe it. Perhaps it happenend only once?

I had a MRI a few years ago. Don't stress about it. The more you focus the louder it'll get. Focus your condo, the calm sea and a gentle brease. My T did not react to the MRI, just thought of other things.. If you take @Kazue with you, you might consider someone to help you carry the luggage? :D

Perhaps it'll go away, perhaps not. First you should see a gp to be examined; did you have an infection? Were you exposed to loud sounds? Did, or do you take certain meds? Stuff like that..

I do thing it can help, but it depends on what is the actual cause of the T. If the conchlea is damaged it won't help a bit.

For not getting to sepressed I use an ad. for sleep sometimes melatonine 3mg. Since the T can't be treated I've chosen to do cbt to help me to get over the tinnitus syndrom because the T affects the total of my being.

Wat jomo said: be carefull with it. Prednisone cures a lot, but the side effets can even be worse when used for a longer timeperiod.

An overdose of gentamycine can cause hearing problems, even deafness. Never hear it from amixicillin though.

The only think that really helps? Walking barefooted in the sea, that sound of the waves rolling on and off the beach. No app can do that. Perhaps it's the totl picture.., being outdoor, feeling free, wind, sun.., the movement of the leaves and branches of trees.. donnow.

The noise apps, they sure don't help me though. Everyone should try it for themself if it works for him/her. There is no guarantee. If it helps? Stick with it.

Smoking weed made my T louder and I got very sick! So no.., not for me!
