    Tell Me Your Happy Place

In the pool. I love just floating on top of the water on my back. Ears filled with water, just floating. It's the most soothing thing to me. I hear the water...nothing else. Of course this only works when there is no one else in the pool. I love walking outdoors where I can hear nature too, it...

Why? Are We Just All Damaged Now? It Seems So Many Things Can Cause a Spike — Are We That Sensitive?

It's a crappy thing, this T. I get paranoid about things too, so your not alone. I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy and am scared to be put under even though it's not for long. I notice my T being seemingly louder under stress...and I recently lost my Dad, now I'm having anxiety and heart...

    My Nightmare

I agree with Karen. Your writing skills are incredible. You should realize your worth in this world and not accept T as a punishment or Karma for something you think you've done in a past life. It sounds like your accepting it as your punishment. I'm truly sorry for your lost love and your...

Is This Normal for Tinnitus? If You Can Get a Handle on the Fear, Will It Calm Down?

I feel for you, I'm sorry your going through this. Are you listening through ear buds or is it playing in the room? I have found that using ear buds, although convenient will raise the T level for me. As for waking up hot, have you ever had your thyroid or hormones checked. This isn't the cause...

    I'll Take Tinnitus, Thank You.

Wow! Just goes to show the passion we feel about T. I understood the thought behind the post. As stated we are all effected in different ways by T. Some suffer more than I and maybe some not as much. I wouldn't wish T on anyone and certainly wouldn't want someone to be at end of the line for...

    Dizziness and Tinnitus

I think what Misery said makes sense. I had vertigo several times before my T took up permanent residence. It was thought that I had meniere' s, but was quickly shot down by another ENT's (second) opinion. It came from a hormonal imbalance at the time. Your dizziness could have something to do...

Is it better to mask it or listen to it?

I'm glad they are working for you. That's awesome! I'm still not understanding fully the point of masking from a hearing aid directly in the ear. Isnt it trading one sound for another? Is that the purpose? I won't even use my ear buds anymore as its bothersome directly in my ear. I use head...

Is it harder to habituate to very high pitched tinnitus?

Katkin, don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone is different. We all deal with it differently. We are here to support and share what works for us. Hopefully you can find something that helps you too. In the beginning, about 3 months ago now, I couldn't see how I was going to ignore this crazy azz...

    Listen for the Silence

Interesting. Sounds like a kind of meditation. I find myself noticing longer periods of time between noticing it. I've gone hours and hours even almost a day. I've had a moment or 2 now that I have had actual silence. It doesn't last long but it's awesome when it happens for sure.

Do You Have Any Other Diseases / Conditions Besides Tinnitus?

I have had floaters also for some time now. I'm 50 so I don't think it's all that uncommon really. I'm a migraine sufferer since childhood. I've had vertigo a few times in the last 6 years or so before tinnitus. I've had hormonal imbalances in last 10 years (Perimenopause). I'm quite healthy...

Tinnitus Tones Change All the Time

I was just about to post something regarding that. Mine has seemed to be basically the same although louder at times. Today after eating some crunchy crackers I noticed a pulse to the T as I chewed and continued. It's something I hadn't noticed before. Is calming down now, but this is new.

Antihistamines and Nasal Spray. Can It Help?

Nasonex does help with allergy inflammation. It is a steroid not an antihistamine. Not sure if your referring to your T going away by using it. I have been on nasonex in the past before my T. I changed to 2 different nasal sprays since, both help with allergy (inflammation) but no change in my T.
