    Tinnitus 95% Gone

It's been 5 years. My tinnitus might have been increasing the last two years, although I can't tell, It's just how I feel. The frequency, however, has remained steady the last two years. And that's a big plus because it allows me to ignore the noise.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, but robots have no problems hitting bullseyes while blindfolded. They'll hit the target each and every time.

Thanks, I'm flying tomorrow. I'll bring my Peltors.

Acoustic trauma. I fell asleep with my headphones on and while sleeping I pressed the volume button up to the max, which didn't wake me up as I don't have the genes to register sound while asleep. Nothing. I'm lucky to not have my ears damaged too much. The only things I've tried to do was -...

    Tinnitus 95% Gone

I'm pretty tired, so I'm keeping it short. It's been 8 weeks. I've been able to get back to work again after 5 weeks. I can still hear it, but it's no more than a whisper. The worst day was after 2 weeks when it suddenly went downhill again. I tried listening to white noise on YouTube and...

Getting Spikes from Electric Appliances, Computers, Lamp Posts, Everything

Since I live in a metropolitan area, I'm now living in a tent in a large garden. I can't use the computer or phone for too long.

    Computers & Tinnitus Part 2

My appointment with my ENT is in Octobre. No idea why they think it's necessary to wait that long. Hyperacusis from tv, phone, computer, alarm clock? Are my ears even equipped to detect such frequencies? It's not that they make loud noises. All I have to do is turn it on and voila, the spije...

    Computers & Tinnitus Part 2

@Michael Leigh Can't you find out what a Raymaster is? It's in the Science report article you posted. I tested various things. Here are my results: It's not the fan that spikes my T but EMR. Aluminum does not protect. What triggers spikes for me: phone computer tv satellite computer in car...

    Computers & Tinnitus Part 2

Did away with the fan. I get the feeling even without the fan I get a spike, but not sure. @Michael Leigh What is a RayMaster? And if EMR spikes T, then does Aluminum foil protect us from T? I'm already wearing an alu-hat right now just in case. I'm not even kidding.

    Computers & Tinnitus Part 2

I have problems of my tinnitus getting louder at the pc I'm typing at right now. I have an almost silent PC, still do, but its bit louder because the power supply fan broke down and this one's louder. I'm thinking of using my other mini-PC that's completely silent but a lot less powerful. It's...

    I'm Worried I Might Lose My Job/Work/Hobby

I went in calling sick today, again, because one day of work was enough to make my tinnitus worse and I don't like taking chances. I don't know what noises cause it. I work in IT, so was it the background music, despite being soft? Loud crowd talking during lunch? Driving my car? Fan noise from...

    Since Yesterday... :-(

I ended up with louder T from just being at work :(. I guess soft music, computer fans and car noise was enough. Used Audispray and it immediately went down a notch or two. I really don't understand it, but I'm staying home again.
  14. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

First day of work. Music is playing softly, but despite that it definitely contributes to spiking. I don't want to spoil their fun.
  15. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

The last few days it's just been mild. I'm doing more things and so I get more spikes. Hearing someone talk or watching tv at normal volume is enough to get one. I'm thinking of going to work tomorrow and see how that goes.

Inner Ear Hair Cell Regeneration — Maybe We Can Know More

This seems like the most interesting thread about curing tinnitus. Is there any thread as hopeful as this one? Can someone start a new thread #2 with the same topic summarizing what has been going on so far? I'm reading about starting a Phase I on page 2-5. I still get tired quickly and I think...

Hello, I'm a Violinist and Guitarist. I Just Got Tinnitus Over the Dumbest Reason.

There is no cure. There is no treatment to this. Your only hope is your own body. I'm taking days off to rest, opened my windows a bit, to let some noise in but not too much. The first days I also walked around and stopped at a fountain or park benches. I avoid headphones, cut down on tv...

    Since Yesterday... :-(

To me that was the progress I felt last week going from Sunday to Monday. While it was more disturbing, at least it got quieter. What I found more disturbing is the layers. I thought it was just one ear, one sound, once it's gone, that's it, but oh no, we've got layers upon layers. Just a...

    Since Yesterday... :-(

Right after I said "I'm hoping the half will cure as well." I felt an urgent need to lie down in bed and heard my brain slowly "fixing" the ringer. Static electricity moved all through my head as if my brain was busy fixing stuff there. Then my ears hurt as if two sides of it had been "turned...
  20. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

That's good to know. I still feel dismayed at the fact that one sound has all but disappeared, yet there was another "underneath" in the other half of the brain. :( I'm hoping the half will cure as well.
  21. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

I'm also able to think a bit more clearly now. I've gone from wanting to do nothing but sleep (tinnitus doesn't affect my sleep), to being able to do simple tasks, to concentrating a bit on solving things again. It's been even difficult to navigate this forum without losing attention this week...
  22. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

Definitely progress today. The whistling now sounds like a distant dentist drill. The softer ringing is now taking over the baton as most noticeable.

How did you get your second trauma? Looks like I can't watch any youtube videos with sound on. I think I got a spike from just watching a tinnitus hub youtube video (oh the irony). Perhaps that's understandable because of what I fell asleep with was on the same wavelength (tutorials).

    Since Yesterday... :-(

I'll add that I've also described it as an argy musquito buzzing around in the room and a radio station trying to find the channel at some point, but today it sounds just a bit too muffled for that, but still annoying at all times. I'll ask him what he knows if I see him again. He's a retired...

    Since Yesterday... :-(

Another day, another tinnitus. I think it's gone down yet again, but it's so hard to tell. Because it never seems to go down to the whisper you want it to be. The only way I can tell that is has gone down from later than Sunday is that someday after I described it as a vaccuum cleaner at the end...

    Since Yesterday... :-(

My uncle (retired surgeon) told me that my nerves are only bruised and that it will disappear logarithmatically in three to six weeks. I hope he's right and so far it's how I experience it. I still feel it got a little less when I woke up, but it's hard to tell. All I know for sure is that it's...

Searching for Hope with Only Darkness on the Horizon

I regret to say that I've heard this information second-hand and hearing it first-hand turns out to be a regular masking device (making you deaf on a certain frequency with anti-sounds) and he did not know anything specific. :( I'm sorry. The only thing left I think can help is to do the same...

Searching for Hope with Only Darkness on the Horizon

You probably already know and have tried this out, my uncle who is a (retired) doctor told me that there is a earpiece device that can ?mask? your noise up to the point that you'll be deaf as long as you wear the device. I'll ask him what the product is called when he gets here tonight.
  29. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

It's back again. I still feel better though. Perhaps it's softer. Looking back at my first post I failed to mention that I di think I listen to music responsibly with headphones... when I'm awake. So it wasn't loud when I fell asleep. I wasn't even listening to music, but youtube programming...

the whistling has stopped! hallelujah! All I hear now is normal ringing. It's still there, but barely noticeable. The ringing is louder. I want to scream, but then again, I don't. Not now.
  31. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

Yeah I've noticed that. After using ear plugs and ear muffs it got worse. So I took them off, concentrated on the ringing (glare) and started to get used to sounds in the house again without getting scared. I called up my uncle who is a doctor and he told me that tinnitus can not be noise...
  32. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

I finally got my ear plugs and ear muffs. It allows me to hear my glare and whistle better, so I'll know when I'm cured, I think. Also, I feel safe walking around the house and using the computer again.

He must have tried it all. He's been having it for 51 years. What I can say is don't give up. The disease you have is going to be curable within your lifetime even at age 51.

Searching for Hope with Only Darkness on the Horizon

 I feel for you man. I couldn't drown it out yesterday. It was horrible. Even today is bad, but it's getting better. I don't want to go back to the state I was yesterday ever again. It's cry-worthy. Don't ever apologize for your light Barbara. Your experience is terrible and...
  35. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

I fell asleep, woke up again. I think it's gotten less bad again. :) The hell is going to be over for me. I'm gonna sell my headphones of my computer. I'm not sure about my phone though. I just ordered new ones to jog with. Bone conducting ones, because I wanted to hear what's going on outside...
  36. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

Half of the doctors are with vacations. I managed to get an appointment though. I hope they'll be of more help than a mom's advice. But they'll probably just do some ear tests and send me home right? I get the feeling next to being less loud the frequency also increased today.
  37. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

It's gotten less severe already. Masking it is almost working and I can feel like I can do stuff again. I'm going to call in sick today and visit the doctor.
  38. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

Perhaps I can do the tutorials without sound. I'm mostly reading off their code anyway. I just bought some Peltors. I don't care if it's somewhat quiet in my house. I want total silence for the night.
  39. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

I can't quit my job. What about buying active noise cancelling headphones/ear muffs/whatever for when I'm at home?
  40. Roger_S

    Since Yesterday... :-(

I can't. I need to use headphones at work to listen to tutorials. I'm not allowed to work at home.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just wanted to get that out. It's ringing like crazy.
