Advice for Severe Hyperacusis Caused by Microsuction / Medication?

There's no hearing protector in the world rated at 75 dB. I think the maximum you can achieve is around 40 dB. Hearing protection isn't additive, so if you wear earmuffs with 30 dB NRR and earplugs with 30 dB NRR, you don't get 60 dB NRR, you're still close to around 30 dB NRR.

Fasting/Diet to Reduce Inflammation for Hyperacusis?

Logically I think messing up your electrolyte balance is a big one. Also, some people with Meniere's finds that it worsens their symptoms. I would recommend trying a shorter fast first (1-2 days and then building up to 5 days) if you go forward with it.

Does Anybody Else Have Hyperacusis That "Flips" from Ear to Ear?

Which brand of circumin did you buy? Btw, I am fully deaf in one ear from birth, and sometimes my hyperacusis jumps from my hyperacusis ear to my deaf ear, which doesn't have any response to sound at all.

My understanding is that there are limitations on what frequencies OAE tests can measure. This would have been interesting data for them to gather though because OAE tests are typically very consistent between tests.

12 business days people, 12 days! The pain of waiting is real. I don't think we can deduce anything definitively by the stock market or the company's actions so far or the lack of numerous subjects flocking here with news.

    Prednisone for Severe Hyperacusis? Thoughts?

No, I decided against it. It seems it doesn't work for most people with hyperacusis and I didn't want to deal with any potentially severe side effects when I'm already in such bad shape. How are you doing?

That stood out to me as well. I think there is also just natural test variability, so the fact that they showed no improvement in the control group is very comforting that the results are meaningful.

Ear Pain from Walking in a Park with Earplugs — Was Bone Conduction of My Footsteps the Cause?

Hi all, I have been dealing with hyperacusis for a few months following an MRI. I went for a walk recently with earplugs in a park for an hour and had ear pain afterwards. It seems like the bone conduction of my footsteps irritated my ear. I did have them in fairly deep so the occlusion effect...
