    I Don't Understand My Tinnitus

I went to an outdoor festival with my college for 3 days. I wore earplugs, and I was standing far away from the speakers. The music was loud, and my earplugs didn't even work properly. I don't understand why I didn't get a spike as I expected. I can listen to music at any volume, and it doesn't...

I Think My Tinnitus Is Fading!

From 1-10 I would say 2. I think I got my T due to loud music or stress -- or maybe both. Not much really. I have tried to go to bed earlier so I could get more sleep which seems to help. I've also tried meditation and hypnosis videos. It has also helped a lot and it is really effective for...

I Think My Tinnitus Is Fading!

I don't think it will fade in the near future because now it's louder! I've just received some sleeping meds and I wonder if that could be a side effect? I was celebrating Christmas with my family today (yes in my country we celebrate Christmas a day earlier) and I was with them the whole day. I...

I Think My Tinnitus Is Fading!

I have mild T (please don't judge!) so I don't know if this will help at all, but I'm so happy right now. My T has been barely noticeable for the past two weeks, and I've even woken up in (almost) silence! My trick was that I stopped caring about it - literally. I stopped looking for it because...

    Tinnitus Got Louder ;(

I've been living with mild tinnitus for about 7 months now, but yesterday I came up with a pretty stupid idea. I wanted to test how much noise my ears could handle before I eventually would get a spike or something, so I decided to listen to music at the same volume I used to the whole day. It...

Does Tinnitus Mean No More Headphones?

I still listen to music, but not as loud as before. I usually listen to music with 25% volume, and I never have any problems with that. Of course I also take breaks 2 hours before I go to sleep, and then I listen to isocronic tones and other relaxing sounds, which makes it easier for me to fall...

I use relaxing sounds to mask my T. I lay my iPad next to me and just listen to the tones with headphones. When my T really bothers me I use this Headphones are required, otherwise it won't work. I don't know the reason for that, but it definitely calms down my T a lot.

Is This Normal? My Tinnitus Changes Volumes at Odd Times

My tinnitus changes volume at odd times. It mostly gets louder when I go to bed, and when I manage to relax then it goes back to normal again. I think I might be habituated to it because I already know when my T changes in volume. And it's quite in the morning but gets louder during the day. I'm...

Tinnitus for 5 Months... Will It Go Away?

I agree with meeruf. I don't know how much help I can offer because my T is mild -- at least it is now. I was in the exact same situation, except that I don't have a job. My ears were literally screaming, but I learned to be focused on something else when my T was worst. That decreased my T...

Anyone Have Very Bad Tinnitus Combined With Extreme Acute Fatigue?

I don't think that I'm more tired than usual because I'm always tired every day, every week, even if I manage to get a good rest. And that's because I'm born with insomnia (I think).

    Bad Day. Tears Are Back.

Your T sounds similar to mine. My T is low but annoying at night when I'm not tired. When I'm tired I fall asleep just as quick as I did before, (which is rare because of my insomnia :() but I guess that's a part of habituation. Have you heard of acoustic neuromodulation? I use that a lot, and...

    Tinnitus and Sleep Meds

I've had insomnia since early childhood (I'm 20 now), and my doctor gave me some pills that should help me fall asleep. A Question About Loud Music

Yes, I think that we may get T from any loud noises. I think I got mine from listening to too much and too loud music. Luckily mine isn't very loud, so I can still function normally during the day. But my T is annoying at night when I'm not tired.

    Huge Positive Difference Today

Your T sounds similar to mine. My T is usually very quite in the morning (sometimes I wake in almost silence but it depends on how much I've been sleeping) but at night it gets louder. It's tolerable but sometimes I just wish I would wake up and discover that it is completely gone.

    Fear of Going Deaf

I agree with everyone here. It's important that you protect your ears! I have a question to ask: I'm 20 years old and on good days I can hear up to 13kHz... Is that normal or do I have some hearing loss?

A Positive Thread: What Calms Your Tinnitus?

I went to a festival too this summer, but oddly enough, it didn't make my T worse. Just make sure that you use earplugs (very important!) and that you stand as far from the stage as possible. I know it sucks, but that's better than going deaf :) If you do so then it shouldn't be a problem...

I finally got the nerve to talk to my mother about T. She was worried but as I expected, she would support me and take me to the doctor after the holidays. But I'm so scared. I fear that earwax removal will make my T worse, as it already is in my left ear :( I can't sleep anymore. It's fine...

I think it's because you're anxious about T. It's natural to feel this way, but I continue live my life as usual, because that's the only way I can stop thinking about it. Is Anyone Currently Doing "Nothing" for Their Tinnitus?

Well my T is pretty low so I don't hear it often. Most every day sounds mask it. Honestly, I don't really care about it, as long as it doesn't get worse. Besides turning the music down, it hasn't really changed my life. I guess I'm very lucky with this condition.
