2020 US Presidential Election

Impeachment of President twice only shows how crazy/paranoid the Democrats are, especially since both impeachments were basically voted along party lines.
Yep.

I saw that NYC had a riot but no MSM coverage yet? It's not a front page story, at least.

The MSM and big tech, we can rely on those pillars of integrity and honesty, right?

Before the virus and the killing of George Floyd, the country was in very good shape. Once the riots over the cop killings started, the Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans zeroed in on Trump as a scapegoat.

No president could have prevented COVID-19 deaths, or stopped a union-supported killer cop. If you believe that Hillary would have been able to, you are delusional and/or stupid - and this is far more dangerous than if you were simply honestly against the man for rational reasons.

The second one was actually the most bipartisan impeachment ever, so it's not like it didn't follow precedent. Plus McConnell seems to back it this time.
The Republicans who voted for impeachment are outcasts now. People in Wyoming are upset with Liz Cheney. Another newcomer Republican also basically said he ruined his future career. They do not have the support of the people.

Nixon impeachment was the most bipartisan ever.

Nixon wasn't impeached.

You are technically correct. However, the House had votes before beginning formal impeachment process.

OPINION: Was Nixon impeached? Yes, by a 412 to 3 Vote

It was a 412 to 3 vote for his impeachment.
Sure but I meant the impeachments that actually happened. That said, I didn't know the full House voted, that'd be a very interesting bit of history.

But since Nixon wasn't impeached the statement I made remains true.

Lol. I have a picture in my mind of what all of you look like and I was way off in your case.
Well... this is funny.

After some thought, I think my handsome image was my alter ego talking.
I looked like that in my thirties, in my 50s now and post tinnitus, I look like Marty Feldman with a lobotomy.

Is Marty Feldman with a lobotomy what you had in mind?

Peace out FGG.

Lol. No. That's even more off.

I was thinking more of a "beat poet" look. Like Lawrence Ferlinghetti in his younger days. No worries, my predictions of people based on their writing styles are never accurate.

Oh boy, what do you think I look like? :p
This is the last one I'm doing because I don't want to derail the thread.

I see you as young, thin but not wiry (like a distance runner kinda build) with dark hair (and not super clean cut) and brown eyes. I'm drawing a blank on celebrities but you wouldn't have the right look to say play a Mormon or something.

Oh boy, what do you think I look like? :p

BTW, some of us make our profile pictures our actual pictures, leaving no mystery.

Daniel, you remind me of a sexy male librarian.

EDIT: The same picture, but with hearing protection on.

Back to politics for a second. I have to admit even as a Bernie fan, Biden's EOs today have all been much needed.
Call me a glass is half full. Time will tell. I can't tell if Biden is going to be a good president or if he's just following up the devil's work.

I picture everyone as a talking version of their profile picture. So I really do imagine you typing away as that green guy :D

I imagine @aot as Humphrey Bogart (his old profile picture), @Lucifer as Drake, @GlennS as Archer, and @Daniel Lion as the little monkey in his 'mood' bar. I think I lack imagination

I pictured @Daniel Lion as a self-reliant, mellowed out, white rastaferian with dreadlocks, living off the grid like Woody Harrelson, lol.

And lowkey he uncontrollably shapeshifts into a Lionized warewolf on full moons. Just goes berzerk and mauls anyone approaching to a gorey end, regardless of their politics. Hence the need for his remote dwelling, lol.

Several months ago, I made a vow to help @PeteJ in this heavily biased left wing thread, despite myself having left leaning views. I still know how to argue from a libertarian angle.

I find it interesting that some leftists like to get a self esteem boost by making themselves look like civilized educated people, and anyone who disagrees with them (even on economics) is backwards and uneducated. I am a left leaning libertarian, but I noticed a trend in the far left is acting like anyone who disagrees with them is either uneducated or racist. In fact, I have seen a few people in this thread give off those tones. You should stop that because it's a snobby and bad habit to belittle people who disagree with you. I think the far left leaning media is giving them the illusion that they are smarter and more educated for supporting socialist policies. That's propaganda. "I agree with this socialist policy because I want to be a sophisticated smarty pants" propaganda.

If you've seen Jimmy Neutron you know how my character sounds and his theme as a crackpot father, who loves ducks, pie and watching over his genius son. I'm not a dad, I don't like pie and ducks, but I do nail the crackpot role.

I agree, I think the problem with American politics is that, Hollywood and mainstream media are on the left side of the political spectrum which is causing many of those that support Republicans to stay quiet as they will get judged by their peers and cause conflict with each other which may lead them to losing their jobs in the entertainment industry for supporting Republicans.

It is so easy for them to sway the vote one way with their social media following. I know the majority of them supported Democrats and it feels like those people that support Republicans are a needle in a haystack full of Democrats which make it hard for them to speak up without conflict as no one from the left seems to want to listen and hear them out and discuss on the issue. That's why those celebrities that supported Republicans in the entertainment industry had to stay quiet or risk losing their jobs and I don't think this is okay and no one should be forced to vote for someone that they don't want to.

Now this is causing a flow on effect to normal citizens and depending on who their friends are they may also get judged by their peers as well and what's happening within American politics is that in the media the Democrats are portrayed as good people and Republicans are portrayed as bad people. If your friends support the same party as you or if you are friends with people who support other political parties and both of you don't care then you're lucky but if you get those type of people that will disown you for supporting a different political party to them then we have a problem.

@just1morething -- Here's your chance. You can tell @FGG not to bother continuing to critique your videos. It seems pretty clear her diligent homework has so far been revealing the videos you've posted lack credibility by making some pretty specious claims. -- It seems ironic that FGG is finding herself in lockstep with the likes of William Barr and Mitch McConnell--when it comes to false accusations of widespread voter fraud. I'm guessing she's not so much in agreement on a host of other topics however!

I once ran across an idiom that went something like, "You can prove anything using statistics or the Bible". Ever since first coming across that phrase, I've seen it attempted to be used countless times, often by people with less than ethical purposes. I just ran across the following which highlights my point...

"You can selectively present cherry-picked statistics, or simply make them up, to bolster a false argument. We professional statisticians have a technical term for this technique: we call it "lying." Amazingly, you can also use the technique without any statistics whatsoever!"

We could iron out our differences over a cup of coffee. No butt-hurt here.

"You look like a good Joe."

(Also, this meme might actually be considered a diss if you know the whole context behind the scene. I just thought it was personally funny either way.)

This was a one time deal to try to duct tape over the massive holes in our social support structure that COVID-19 made apparent. This was a desperation ploy, combined with an eviction moratorium, to prevent a mass homelessness event during a pandemic.

In general the US has terrible unemployment benefits compared to the EU, including Spain, so your overall situation is better than ours:

I read on American real estate forums that some tenants were not paying rent but they got like $4,800 dollars per month in unemployment benefits. Is that true?

It may have been but that rent will come due after the crisis is over. The rent moratorium is not rent forgiveness. Meaning people that haven't paid the rent have had the bills piling up for a while now. Also that unemployment expired back in July.
