2024 US Presidential Election

It doesn't mean I can't have an opinion. Besides, he may be the U.S. president, but the rest of us can't escape him unfortunately.
Trump doesn't affect you near as much as he does American citizens. Show him some love for what he has done for women's sports. Also he's trying to reverse the damage that the Biden administration has done to our country including the massive task of removing the illegal alien criminals, some of whom have raped and even murdered women.

Oh, @just1morething, that filthy rapist Trump doesn't give a damn about women!
I'm not in a panic @Luman. I think he's a despicable human being, but you know, whatever floats YOUR boat...

I think that the entire human race is pretty "despicable", so don't play the better-than-thou routine on me.

We had no war for four years during his first term, which went south shortly after Biden and Harris were elected.

The world's political and business leaders are lining up to meet and make deals with Trump, which would not have been the case with that idiot he defeated.

The United States has been subject to four years of millions of illegal aliens entering the country, which includes nearly a million criminals, thanks to Biden and Harris. This includes murderers and drug gangs; they are taking lives and destroying our cities, and have to go. Trump is doing whatever it takes to clean up this situation ASAP, by deporting them. The worst of them are being sent to our base in GITMO.

The worst thing about Trump is that he normalizes all the worst things—corruption, extremism, and extreme partisanship, among others.

Take the Bitcoin scheme he's running as president. It makes the news, yet no one seems to care or even bat an eye. During his first term, at least he pretended to divest from his businesses.

He talks about imperialism as if it's justified. But if it's acceptable to take over Greenland, Canada, or Gaza, what's to stop China or any other country from believing they can do the same? This kind of rhetoric is dangerous and should never be encouraged.

Remember when Trump claimed he had nothing to do with Project 2025? Well, most of his executive orders align with it. On top of that, the project's author now holds a powerful position in the executive branch. It's deceitful and represents extreme partisanship at its worst.

Additionally, all the filth, rot, and decay within the U.S. have the power to influence other countries as well because the U.S. looms large on the world stage.

Trump is not going to "take over" Greenland, Canada or anywhere else, in any illegal way. Canada would not survive without a relationship with the United States, mostly at our expense. Greenland would not survive without help from another country, and they are tired of Denmark. In Gaza, Hamas pays people to stay there, so that they can wage war against Israel.

Trump was accused of wanting to end or significantly lessen Social Security and Medicare simply because of some policies outlined in Project 2025. He said that he was not going to touch Social Security or Medicare. Democrats have accused virtually every Republican candidate for the past 50 years, of planning to cut or eliminate these programs, and it has never happened.

His approval ratings for the first two weeks in office are good.

I am glad that Trump has revoked the security clearances from NYS Attorney General Letitia James, Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg. and former Secretary of State Antony Blinken. These people, and many others, made a serious mistake by using lawfare against him, his family, and his associates. Leticia James should be disbarred, indicted, and tried in court.

@tpj, hi.

Agreed—you have every right to weigh in. Trump is all over the Epstein flight logs and phone records, which is why he didn't want the information released.

I follow politics around the world, including in Australia. The world is a mess.

That said, this thread is super toxic, full of memes and insults. It's bad for your tinnitus and emotional health. Take a break if you need one—I often do. I'll catch you on a more supportive and friendly thread.

Hugs from Laos. Wishing you a great day, week, and life.

Most sincerely,
Daniel

If Social Security isn't addressed, it will result in automatic benefit cuts of about 25% when the trust fund runs out.

Trump also wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would leave millions without health care.

Social Security has problems, this is not Trump's fault.

Trump recently said he has no plans to change healthcare unless there are better alternatives.

All we have to do is look at Trump's first term to see what he wanted to pass, and he still complains about John McCain giving the thumbs down. Those replacements and the skinny repeal were not improvements. The CBO estimated over 20,000,000 people would lose health insurance under multiple bills that Republicans pushed for, and Trump was eager to sign. Failing that, the Trump administration and Republican-led states pursued legal challenges to the Affordable Care Act, arguing it was unconstitutional. There was never a better plan. And Trump said most recently, after all these years, that he only has "concepts of a plan".

Their biggest wet dream has always been to privatize social security and other social programs. There's a lot of money at stake in social security, we're talking trillions.

Our corporate masters want an opportunity to access that wealth, and their enablers, mostly Republicans, are trying to make that happen, little by little chipping away at it without drawing too much attention. That's how the ruling class operates in this country.

And when they do get caught in the act (by a few well-informed citizens), they will simply deflect and use their media to trick people like you into blaming immigrants and aliens from Mars for the mess and highway robbery they commit. Because the plutocrats know all too well this is a misinformed country that can easily be manipulated.

Social security is a bit tougher for them to tamper with. That is true. So they currently have shifted their focus on education instead. It's a bit more easier without sparking major backlash. Yes, privatizing education on a national scale is another wet dream for them too.

You're talking to the wrong person, lol. I got royally screwed by Obama, for healthcare. He said that we'd be able to keep the plan we had. I believed and voted for that liar twice. The result was that he eliminated the fine health care plan that I was paying for, and then I had to buy a more expensive Obamacare plan which was not as good. Democrats screw the middle class, to get votes from people that they reward for votes, with free stuff (at the taxpayers' expense).

On another note, DOGE has discovered that FEMA sent 59 million to NYC last week, to house illegal migrants in luxury hotels. This funding for illegals is against the law and the Dept. of Homeland Security will fire those FEMA employees who did this.

The more corruption and illegalities that are revealed, the better it is that Trump was elected. He's doing even more than I expected. Tomorrow is three weeks since he was inaugurated, and new things are happening daily.

Donald Trump demands $500 billion worth of minerals from Ukraine for continued support.

Ukraine should pay us this amount immediately; a deal could be worked out for at least one trillion worth of minerals from Ukraine over time.

More than half of those minerals are located in land that is currently controlled by Russia.

Maybe Trump should deploy troops to secure them.
Ukraine itself has trillions of dollars worth of rare earth natural resources. Trump said that the United States should be paid 500 billion, "So, we don't feel stupid."

If Ukraine uses some of its natural resources to pay the United States, these assets will be permanently out of Russia's reach, which is important.

Zelenskyy has "essentially agreed" to the plan, according to the news reports.

Zelenskyy should do as Trump has suggested, settle the war with Russia, and start rebuilding the country. In addition to business opportunities in Ukraine, there will be plenty of room for more corruption, for him and his cronies, without further bloodshed.

Well, at least he has some level of self-awareness.

Maybe you should use the money to fund a federal rehabilitation program for Americans with superiority complexes.
Anybody who can rise to the position of POTUS should have a higher-than-average self-image.

Trump's personality, and his taste in art, music, etc., are not important to me - nor is his ego. He is doing things that he said he would, or at least is trying to, and that's all that counts. It would be impossible to agree with everything that any president does. So far, his approval ratings for this term are better than the first term.

Trump is urging peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. Biden never once tried to get them to do that.

The Democrats have major problems with hate for Trump and Musk. They are trying to cover themselves for waste, fraud, and abuse. They have total disrespect and no regard for the people of America, including those who vote for Democrats.

Trump is trying to help our country, not ruin it like demented Joe and his handlers. So far so good with the Trump administration. It figures that the Democrats don't like DOGE as they are probably getting kick-backs from some of the ridiculous government spending of the U.S. taxpayers' money.

Their budget resolution is indeed a joke, but this was to be expected if you had a brain, which many Americans don't have unfortunately.

Not only is there a $4.5T in tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy, but their budget also:
  • Increases debt ceiling by $4 trillion.
  • $300 billion in new spending for border security (including judiciary/immigration judges and border patrol)
  • $880 billion in Medicaid program cuts
  • 20% cut ($230 billion) in SNAP program funding
  • Ending school breakfast and lunch program (very Christ-like!)
  • $330 billion in education cuts

GOP have actually managed to convince people that they are the party of working class families. Clown world.
Literally on Putin's side. Really disgusting.
