I was actually thinking that about Trump way back in 2016, and it became more obvious with time. He's a danger to democracy.

Well, I heard the same thing in 2016 and voted for Hillary. As Dementia Joe would say, "Guess what?" - he did not destroy the country, start WWIII, or do anything else that the Democrats said he would do. The Democrats had riots all over the country in the summer of 2020.
We need to end "early voting" and mail-in except for those who cannot go out.
The Democrats have been extremely dishonest about so many things, that it would take volumes to name them all. Their day is coming, very soon, and I hope they have learned something.
Those who still want to rant about Trump may have another four years, in fact it's a sure thing the way things have been developing lately.

The Democrats have known for a long time that Biden's situation was beyond the point of no return, but they kept making excuses, claiming he was fine, etc.
Trump and the majority of Republicans do not want him to drop out, which says a lot about the way the Democrats have handled this.
Many of those who insisted that Trump would not be able to run, would be in prison by now, is a "failure," etc., are not saying much, if anything, now.

I don't think very many people want a soon to be 82-year-old with cognitive issues to be POTUS again. Biden can't defend the southern border mess he and Mayorkas intentionally created. I've read deaths from Fentanyl and other drugs are up by about 30% since Biden took over.

The judge dismissed the case because the prosecution withheld evidence.
I'm certain those 34 felonies that Trump was convicted of are only a small fraction of the total he has committed, but they had to draw the line somewhere. "Lock him up."
Trump is a grave danger to democracy. We're still trying to recover from his last presidency. Biden has done a great job bringing this country back so far, but there's more work to be done. We can't afford a second term for Trump.
They have slandered, impeached, silenced, indicted for petty charges, tried to imprison him, and now he has been the victim of an assassination attempt.
He will win, and when that happens, we can restore this country to its former glory before Biden started destroying it.

First of all, you don't know that this is not a case of mental illness as with Ronald Reagan, a personal vendetta as with Shinzo Abe, or whatever else the motive might be. People who allegedly went to the same high school as the guy say that this is most likely mental illness. The FBI has said that they currently don't have a motive. Let them finish their investigation before you jump to conclusions to score political points.
Second, the guy has been a registered Republican since he turned eighteen. Try fitting that one into your narrative.
Third, don't act like there haven't been any assassination attempts on prominent Democrats, like Obama and the Clintons, who received pipe bombs in the mail, Nancy Pelosi, whose husband got beaten up with a hammer in their home, and Joe Biden when a literal Nazi drove a truck into a White House barrier with the intent to find and kill him.
Fourth, it's fascinating how now, all of a sudden, the MAGA crowd agrees that rhetoric matters. Because surely, Trump's rhetoric and actions after losing the 2020 presidential election up to January 6 didn't cause an insurrection at the Capitol. It's almost as if all you do is deny and attack whenever you find it convenient, disregarding consistency completely. Which, by the way, has been in the fascists' playbook since the beginning.
Fifth, the Democrats have for years tried to ban sales of AR-15s, and if the Republicans and the NRA didn't block common sense gun legislation, this never would've happened. And neither would all the mass shootings that occur daily.

It's terrible news to hear about an attempted assassination, whatever your politics. It's really anxiety-provoking stuff, guys. Let that sink in. It does not leave a good impression, does it?
Can you imagine the stress that Trump has been dealing with for the past 8 or 9 years? Now he's been shot at and injured, with one dead and critical injuries to attendees, but he continues to press on.
Well, in the UK, we get political divides for sure, but we don't really get fanatical in large numbers. Farage is kind of trying to start a similar movement. America looks so divided with radical groups. I've noticed when meeting people with tinnitus through Facebook that some are hard-line Christians and seem religiously extreme. It's not a good place or time. But then, I don't live there, so maybe I get the wrong impression.
I have no religious associations at all and oppose religion in government. If people want to believe that prayer works, that's fine with me as long as I am not forced to partake.
Donald Trump's views are not extremely right-wing or ultra-religious and never were. He is a New Yorker. To get votes, he has had to pander to the religious conservatives and others on the right. However, some of the policies he previously supported have been modified for this campaign to reflect a switch to more mainstream Republican politics. There used to be Liberal Republicans, and I believe that Trump, in his mind, is still one of them.
As of now, he is on the path to win this election. If he does, the United States will no longer be used to support an unwinnable, expensive war in Ukraine. Biden has screwed up on that, the Middle East, the Afghanistan withdrawal, and more, so it's time to dispense with him and re-elect a leader who is not politically corrupt and weak.

Yeah, Trump has really sowed divisions in this country. The MAGA Trumpers are the worst group and are clueless. Think January 6th and the Capitol invasion encouraged by Trump. He is a threat to democracy and says he will be a dictator on day one if reelected. Trump was rated the worst president in U.S. history by 154 scholars. Most of his policies are bad for the country. He totally mishandled the pandemic and suggested people inject bleach to kill the virus. Really, we could go on and on about countless negatives about Trump, the convicted felon. It's nearly all bad news. We can't risk another term of Trump.

What's lost in Trump's assassination attempt is that Corey Comperatore lost his life in the crossfire, trying to shield his wife and two daughters. He was a 50-year-old former firefighter. Also, two others were shot but are in stable condition.

Agree. Trump has said that the left lives like vermin who are poisoning the blood of this country. He has repeatedly called the media the enemy of the people. He has said he would pay the legal bills of his supporters who knock the crap out of protestors. He made fun of Paul Pelosi for getting beaten up with a hammer. He said there were "fine people on both sides" after neo-nazis ran over a group of people with a car in Charlottesville, killing a woman.
He is the sole reason for all of this violence. Just look at the 2008 and 2012 elections for comparison. It's only when the gaslighter in chief himself is affected that the Republicans go, "Oh no, the rhetoric has become so vicious!" but apparently, it is only the Democrats' fault, even though the shooter was a Republican. All the Democrats have done is to point out all the insane things Trump has been saying for years.
This assassination attempt was an inside job. It is impossible that this 20-year-old kid could outsmart the Secret Service and come that close to killing Trump.
The Democratic Party is finished, and thanks to their extreme persecution of Trump, he will be a shoo-in in November.
