Chit Chat and All That...

I think that's the best way to be, I'm not as easy going as I was but I still try to be more chill haha I agree let people be who they be, everybody is different has different beliefs etc as long as they don't do harm to others I'm good.

Ha my language is not the best if I'm honest, I tone it way down on here as it's a public forum and I know not everybody likes that type of language (to me I don't blink an eye to it, a well placed "profanity"in a sentence, statement can make quite an impact )

I can imagine that haha you must of been going crazy at times especially when they come out with some of the most ridiculous polices, don't get me started on governments, injustice, rich making themselves richer while screwing over minorities :banghead:
Nothing like making an impact Jcb, and there are plenty of studies to support that swearing is actually good for you

I noticed you are from the UK, I am actually a dual citizen, Aussie and British. I was born in Australia, so I consider myself an Aussie.

We have been getting lots of media coverage on the royals and the Brexit stuff nearly everyday for weeks now, it will be interesting to see that happens with Brexit, especially if there is a extension till early 2020.

This world needs more people like you, Star. :huganimation:
Right back at you Emmalee :huganimation:

When I dropped my granddaughter off at kinder today one of the mums told me she had also baked the pumpkin pie and she gave it a 5 star rating. She has also passed the recipe on to several others, so you have started a pumpkin pie epidemic :) I knew that pie looked good from the picture you posted...

The lady informed me she managed to buy a can of pumpkin puree imported from the USA from a local supermarket, the brand was called Mississippi Belle, it was $5 Aussie dollars a can, so cheaper than Libby's....

My daughter inlaw who grew up in the states said she used to make them when she was younger but agreed the recipe you gave me was way simpler than the one she used to make ......and believe me I love simple;)

Can anyone recomend some Netflix shows?
I am looking for something light hearted

Hi Once,

I am seeing a theme here, :) I have already done a number of these and enjoyed them a lot so I will add the others to my list to pass the time.

Little bit lonely lately but learning who I am again

Haha, yes... but I also enjoy some action/adventure, sci-fi and comedy. I just watched Planet of the Apes the other day... hehe.

Sending you a hug. Take your time adjusting.... I learned to crochet, knit, kayak, disc golf and many other new "quiet" hobbies and they have helped me cope. Have fun watching new shows!

Your T still keeping you awake JCB?

SJ X

My sleep is terrible, some nights are better than others but I'm kind of used to it now. It's just every now and again I'll hit a bump where I am sooo tired. Last nights sleep was better so I can't complain.

I like your more "dark" shows sooo the ones I can think of that are light hearted are
The Good Place
Schitts Creek (definitely recommend this one)
One Day at a time
Brooklyn 999
Derry Girls
Arrested Development (this is not for everyone but I like it)

If I can think of anything else I'll let you know.

Yes there are a good few studies to back this is up, a good "rage" with words can be very therapeutic

Brexit  what an absolute sh*#storm haha this has got be the most ridiculous clownery I have ever seen haha I'm past caring now if I'm honest, I was remain because I thought the positives outweigh the negatives but just get on with it now ffs........

Nice, dual citizenship. I've been to Australia a few times absolutely loved it and the Aussie sense of humour is very compatible with the UK sense of humour as well from my experiences.

These are great quotes, Jcb. I especially like the Helen Keller quote. I can't even begin to imagine what life must have been like for her, being born both deaf and blind. Talk about strength, I am humbled. The movie, with Patty Duke playing the Helen role, was fantastic. I have watched it many, many times.

It may be loud, so adjust your volume.

Yeah she has a good few quotes and I've read her story a while back, she was a fighter and I know not everybody agreed with her views and thoughts but I think what she accomplished was so amazing, especially in those times. I haven't watched the film but I may well do, I like good biographies.

A five star rating, wow, I am very flattered.

 Oh my, the photo I posted was from Pinterest, Star.

The pie I made looked very similar, but it didn't last long enough to take a photo, lol! I put dollops of whipping cream on mine, 8 to be exact, a dollop for each piece. It did look pretty, I should have taken a photo.:)

I have never heard of Mississippi Belle, but with a name like that it would have to be tasty.(y) Yes, simplicity is bliss!

Glad to hear that you had a restful night, Jcb. :huganimation:

Guess what? I came down with a sore throat and an annoying cough, last night. This may have contributed to the latest spike. Other than some discomfort from the "yuk" the spike does seem to be getting a little less noisy.(y)

That well could be the course of the spike, when you get bunged up I've noticed mine goes into hell mode. When your eustachian tubes get all blocked it can play havoc with us. I'm hoping it'll pass soon for you. Have you ever tried NAC? That seemed to help me some last time I had a cold, as well as garlic and ginger tea (homemade tastes as bad as it sounds unfortunately )

Emma I love Janis Joplin, I love her voice, so much pain and emotion when she sang like all of her feelings, doubts, anger everything just poured out when she sang. Maybe, bye bye baby, all is loneliness are a few of my faves. I always wonder how she may have sounded if she got the chance to grow older, she did go all out vocally, such a shame.

(Yes I sound like an angry OAP )

Two questions, Jcb.....

What is Guy Fawkes night...and...what does OAP stand for???

I will be honest, the meme still has me trying not to laugh, that kid is not happy.

I sympathize, though.:huganimation:Stay indoors and keep your muffs on.

I have yet to try NAC, tonight I will research it, cause I'm not busy...at all. I need a life.

Ginger and garlic tea. Not going to happen, lol. :p Thank-you for the suggestion, though.

I wish Janis Joplin would have lived much, much longer, too, Jcb. I love her for all the same reasons that you talk about. It is hard to believe that she would have been 76, if she were still here.

My favorite...

 It's also known as bonfire night, basically people make a figure to burn (supposedly Guy Fawkes) on a big fire and set off fireworks to celebrate the plot that was uncovered to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605

OAP = Old Age Pensioner hahaha

It's really not nice to drink but does help (or may be placebo) haha

Yeah her music does stir something up in me when I listen to her, I have all her albums on my playlist. It's very sad, she lived a fast life and died way too early, personally speaking I think she had a lot more to give musically but sadly the drugs got to her before we could see more music from her.

I've always been drawn to those hearty, husky soul renching voices that just hit you right in your heart when they sing, guess that's why I love the more bluesy, soul types of music.

ps love that song as well.

Hey Jcb, is tinnitus keeping you up or you think is the anxiety?
Have you tried any meds to help you???

Glad you slept better last night. :huganimation:

Good ol' pinterest, LOL, Well emmalee, that is an even better compliment if the pie was eaten before a photo could be taken.

I love that song by Janis Joplin that you posted, I found myself singing it throughout the day after listening to it this morning.

It certainly brought back nice memories for me emmalee. :huganimation:

Guy Fawkes night, I used to love this as a child, It is not celebrated here anymore as bonfire night has long been banned. The only time you here fire crackers now is new years eve, people still let them off in the streets illegally till all hours of the morning.

I have had a very nostalgic day thanks to both you and emmalee :huganimation:

I just saw on the news, it is back to the polls for you in December. I would have thought staying in the EU was a better option too Jcb. I am glad you liked Australia, and yes I think the Brits and Aussies sense of humour is very compatible. Nothing like good laugh, I am getting plenty from you all on this thread.

I thinks it's a mixture of everything Once, my anxiety, the noise, finance worries etc etc....

I'll get through it :) just hard at times.

I've tried every herbal tea, herbal tablet haha some relax me a little I suppose. I'm just not a medication person (loooong story but I'd rather stay away from them) maybe they will help but maybe they may make me worse, that's my dilemma haha

I've never been a fan of fireworks, they look pretty for a few seconds but I always thought they were obnoxious things ( I sound like a such a kill joy haha) I did enjoy the whole burning things on the fire though, that could be worth seeing a therapist for I think ha

We never actually did the whole bonfire thing in my family, we used to drive to this field and there would be a huge bonfire were we would all throw things on. There was always food, drinks, a big huge gazebo (obviously well away from the fire) music and fireworks :)rolleyes:) always had such a good time, good memories.

I'm glad you get a chuckle off us all Star, I agree laughter helps me a lot at times.

it's a mess, parliament is in such a way they don't know what's coming or going, this deal is supposedly not good at all from I've read and much worse than the one that clown Theresa May put forward. It's all going to end horribly I think, it's going to be interesting times.

Same with me. In the song I posted above, there is a line that says "I'd trade all of my tomorrows for a single yesterday." When dealing with my tinnitus, this is often how I feel.

I get that so much Emma, I think it's a longing in all us.
