Chit Chat and All That...

@Star64 ....Watching the videos of those wildfires in Australia has made me concerned for you and your family in Melbourne. I hope that you are all safe from both the fires and smoke. Please let us know how you're making out when you get a chance.

That is so sad.
Yes, let us know how you are doing @Star64.
I'll say a prayer for all those affected by these terrible fires and for all the firefighters and emergency personnel working non stop to put out these fires. God bless them.

I live 20 minutes from Melbourne central business district so luckily the only thing I am noticing is the haze from the fires..

This is Melbourne at 12.15pm meant to be clear and sunny but the haze has been hanging around for days now, not good for asthma sufferers.

The volunteers and fire fighters are working non stop, even our navy is involved in rescuing people and animals. It's very sad, this year nearly every state in Australia has experienced bad fires. Thanks for your concern. @OnceUponaTime. Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays as best they can :huganimation:

You mean H.A.A.R.P.?

No. I mean with gas and lighters or incendiaries dropped from planes.
Oh hell when I worked in the woods in the US the Forest Service (government) they dropped ping pong balls that had a chemical in them, when they hit the ground they ignited. Used for back burning, crazy stuff to see.

If a natural fire from lightning, the Forest Service won't go to extinguish the fire until it has burnt 5 acres of land.

"As firefighters remain on high alert, police revealed 103 of the destructive fires that have lashed Queensland since September were deliberately lit."

You think those particular fires were "climate communists" and not run of the mill arsonists?

Where they have caught similar cases in California, i don't recall any being politically motivated. Just seemed like destructive kids and adults.

Who knows? Here in Appalachia some huge fires almost destroyed Gatlinburg. They were obviously started in multiple places and they claimed it was a couple of kids running through the woods lighting matches and throwing them. They kids got off and the government laid the blame of the deaths that occurred on the firefighters for not working hard enough. Who are those kid's dads? There is just some fishy crap going on.

That's scary. I know some of our most recent fires around where I live have all been man made. Some from campfires, but too many were done on purpose. We've had bad fire seasons. And then the government is all like "let's prescribe burn everything!" They just did our beautiful mahogany groves and now they're talking about tearing up our pinon trees to make way for sage brush because they killed the sage brush ecosystem in another area. Our pinon trees take over 100 years to mature.

The fires in Australia are super scary. Who knows how much longer they're going to keep burning and how the ecosystems are going to recover.

I know that He was going through a difficult time. He hasn't logged on since near the end of November. I sure hope that he's OK.
Thanks. I hadn't heard from him in a while in the chats and I try to only drop in every now and then on TT.

Hey guys and gals, I'm ok. Life has been a shitstorm the last month but what's new eh.
Hope everybody is doing ok??
Absolutely devastated about Allen, hit me hard logging in to see that news.

Anybody who I speak to outside of here I can't get into my emails as I'm not at home and it won't recognise me  so not ignoring anybody.

Totally random, but I've been wondering if reading has gotten any better @Jcb?

Hey Shera, long time. How are things? Nope reading is still on the back burner for now, I'll try again I'm sure in the future.

Thanks, my man ;) Again, I won't die in peace without petting an owl at least once. Where will this owl outing be held?

Same. I think it really depends on what you're buying; I wouldn't risk it with electronics for example, but something like jewelry should be fine.

Whoooooo knows mate ha I'm sure we will find a nice sanctuary somewhere and pet them glorious creatures. Hope you are doing ok mate.
