Chit Chat and All That...

@aot 2 episodes away from finishing up Castlevania! Love it!!!

I also wrapped up The Dragon Prince and I adored it! The show has really stepped up from the first season and I'm so excited for a new season to drop this May.

Claudia's my favourite! She's just the best. I want her to run away and start a new life somewhere or something.

She's not evil, just misguided.

Also, do dreams effect your T? Whenever I remember my dreams (which means they have to be really, really weird) I wake up with louder T.

I love the humming birds. My cat brought a hummingbird up that had hatched without tail feathers. Caring for that little guy for 3 months was so fun. My cat just loved sitting beside him.
Humming birds are something else entirely. Such small, fascinating creatures. I absolutely adore the vibrant colours. I once saw a documentary that elucidated their unusual ability to remain airborne in one spot and even fly backwards. Nature is amazing. Also heard they are quite territorial creatures and hence, can be fairly aggressive.

I'm amazed at the fact that your cat didn't kill it. Did you release it into the wild after three months? I know they belong in the wild, but I think I'd be reluctant to let it go. I guess that's just me, haha.

I agree about Claudia, but I refuse to pick favorites! I love pretty much the entire cast. They all have fun quirks!!

Dreams can affect mine. If I have a nightmare it really drives my T crazy. I know that when I lay down it makes my T crazy and it won't calm down for a few hours.

Yeah, Smokey was a lover. I also raised baby chickens in the house and she adored them. My first chicken and her were friends. Unfortunately it was a rare genetic disorder in which the feathers never grow in on the tail. I was trying to keep him alive until his first proper molt. That was the only way to know for sure. He past though. The wildlife fish and game warden was impressed that I kept him alive for a week let a lone 3 months. Smokey was so sad. Smokey rarely toyed with her mice either. She'd kill them and wouldn't eat them.:bawling: I miss her so much. She was with me for 20 years.

Now my Mr. Peaches. He was a killer. Everything was a challenge. He tried and tried one summer to catch Hummingbirds. Then while I was sun bathing with him he reached his paw up and bam!!!!!! I hummingbird flew right into it. He was a pro at getting him. If I was around I'd make him drop them, but I"m sure many were ate. Until he grew bored and moved on to more challenging pray.

Cats are such a blessing. Here's Cinder. Keeping her feet up after stupidly walking across our wood burning stove. Of course I have to protect her modesty. ;) This is one of my fave pictures of her.

Aww p0or baby. Did she burn her feety bad??

Yeah, it was pretty bad. You see all that pink on her back paws? That's the burns. Her little pads are solid black. I call them my black berries. I thought she was fast enough. I tackled put her on a ice pack, because she does not want to stand in water. (Thinks she's gonna get her bum washed.) Then I freaked out. Bawled. It was so sad to see her in so much pain. Thankfully cats heal fast.

The first 4 days she had me hold her, which was hard working on computers, and then I put castor oil on. Then of course had to wipe it off when she wasn't on me. She had to pull the melted flesh off herself.

I just don't get it. My three cats before feared the fireplace. Even in summer time. Sneakers, my new out door cat, fears it. Mulan lightly burned her paws earlier this winter. I tried everything. Cinder fears it now. I just make yelping noises when I tend to it so they get it. Cinder even chitters at Midnight to get away from it.

It's weird. I thing indoor cats just don't learn common sense.

Oh gosh, so awful. I also have a wood burning stove...they get soooo hot.
Just a quick touch and its going to hurt bad!
I'm sure she won't be doing that again.
Hope she feels better soon, Shera.

She's fully recovered! Some pink bits still, but she's terrorizing the house at full speed. Sadly she hoped on when I had it stoked up for quite a while. I'm pretty sure she had 3rd degree burns. My poor sweet thing. For a week she just watched the other cats run around and play. Let me tell you a felt for her so bad when she used the litter box.

I once caught myself in a fall on the stove. Luckily I pulled my hand back, sadly burned my forearm. Phew. Only a second or two, but I was one crispy Shera.

One Thanksgiving, my dad was taking the Turkey out of the oven, and accidently spilled a bunch of Turkey juice on his bare foot. He had to go the hospital and it was super gross. :grumpy:

When I worked in the ER department this type of burn was common. Many people drop hot oil from roasting meats or even drop the whole tray on themselves and get serious burns. You are right they look gross and they are extremely painful. It is so easy to do though, the kitchen can be a dangerous place for accidents to happen.

Aww. I tend to forget cats are still predators--little tigers. I love nature, yet I get upset everytime I see animals killed in documentaries (when tigers hunt gazelles for example). Same with the humming birds and your cat. The hummingbirds never had a chance being so small and fragile. Anyway, more humming birds:

@aot Oil burns are the worst!!! Ouch!! Especially on your foot!

@Star64 They are one of my favorite things about the warmer weather. I love them so much!!! I constantly feed them until it's time to migrate.

@Labyrinthine Yeah. Most cats actually do not have the patience. Mr. Peaches was a top hunter though. After frantically jumping at them and chasing them didn't work. He studied them. Realized they fly the same flight patterns over and over. I literally just laid in the grass, put a paw up, and bam they flew right into it. If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have believed it.

I guess being a country/farm girl you accept death. Still guts me though. Especially if your the one that has to do it.

Took a walk down main street today. It was nice. Florida is full of old people, so it's not really as loud as other places.

I want a tattoo but they're so expensive. :arghh:

And the people who do great quality charge even more. I've always flirted with the idea of a tattoo, but have never settled on a design I'd want forever.

Oh, I finished Castlevania! Loved it!! I'm super excited the next season comes out in March. Great timing for me. I hope they drop them all at once instead of a slow release. But I have a suspicion it's the slow release.

I think seasons 1 and 2 both released their episodes all at once, @Shera. I see no reason why season 3 will be even different.

And yeah, it's not set in stone, but I've always wanted a tattoo. Both my sisters have them. I'm the only one with bare skin.

I was just thinking they might change since they last few shows they've released have been one a week. Here's hoping!!

Fun! What were you thinking of getting? The only design I've really stuck with is a moon and star. I've always liked it and even my poor book blog has it as part of it's logo. I almost got it back in 2011. I had a design I drawn up, that and this really cool heart dragon thingy I was so proud of. But between the price and the idea of it being forever I chickened out!!

Part of the cover of an old paperback copy of We Have Always Lived In The Castle, by Shirley Jackson. As you can see, it'd cost a pretty penny. (Great book, highly reccomended.)

Do you still run your book blog? I considred making one some years back, but I got lazy.

Lovely!! Too many books to pick a favorite cover for me!!! That would be pricey, and the only guy I know who'd do it justice costs a couple thousand, probably more now.

It's still online, but I haven't posted anything since August 2017. My T and insomnia just made me so mentally exhausted. I've been thinking about it a lot. I book blogged faithfully for 7 years and I really miss it. I started writing up some reviews for the books I've been reading lately. It's not flowing like it used to, but I'm working on it. I used to immediately write a review after every book I finished. My mind would have notes while reading and even before typing it up I'd have this flow of thought about what to put in.

Recently I even dreamed up an updated look for my blog logo. I put it on paper and I do really like it. I'm thinking of finishing the design and maybe starting up my blog again.

It sounds like it'd be good for you to do that, Shera. Try to distract yourself the best you can. If you do, send me a link?

I think so. Early last year I was having so much fun watching my Dramas and writing episode reviews. I can send you the link now. Just in case I don't get to blogging sooner, and most likely forget!! ;)

Ouch!!!! Same thing happened to my dad!:cry:

Ahh... I'm not fond of tattoos so I can't comment.:meh:

I think this is a great idea, Shera.
Doing what we love and enjoy is always a great distraction from tinnitus and everything that comes with it.
Get on it girl! And post the link.
:huganimation:

Hey, where's @Emma and @jimH ???

@OnceUponaTime Yeah. I'm working on my book reviews!! A few have turned out decent enough I think they're ready. Some of them . . . are . . . ugh. I realized I hadn't even installed the blogging software on my new laptop yet! The shame.

I can email you the link if you want.
