Hi my friends...
You may recall I live in Laos. I went out and bought some supplies for when the shit hits the fan here with the Coronavirus. There are more shamans than doctors here and the hospitals can barely function in normal situations.

Anyhoo... I bought noodles, pasta, instant soups, milk for the kids... honey etc.
The first night I had the stuff in the house we broke into our emergency supplies and had pasta and pesto and this morning the kids broke into the instant noodles.
I thought it was funny... my emergency supplies idea needs to be amended.
Gonna hide everything from the wife and kids and me.

@Labyrinthine praying for you, JCB, and " everyone". We suffer bad, I know. Just want you to know I care and you are all in my thoughts.

The best friend

Dave was a gold prospector during the years of the gold rush in Idaho. He had a mining claim 32 miles from Murray Idaho. Lived in a one room cabin, and panned for gold every day. On a trip to town by horse, for supplies, he had entered the Murray saloon for dinner before heading back to his claim. While enjoying a steak and taters he was encountered by a man who seemed to be a new prospector. The young man asked if he might sit and ask questions. After an hour of talking old Dave knew he was a trustworthy man..he told the young man he could join him and he could prospect on his claim. So they worked and slept in the cabin. The young prospector worked every day fixed his own meals, and never spoke a word the whole 2 years he prospected. One morning, sitting down having coffee he said to Dave, "I'm leaving."
Two years and that was the first he had spoken. When he gathered his belongings and sack of gold he walked out the door.
Dave, sitting there looking at the young man walking down the trail, said, "there goes the best friend I ever had."

We already have emergencey supplies, but I stalked up a bit more on pet food. I need to check what the chicken food is looking like. We've already had towns cut off due to weather, so if shit hits the fan worse I need to feed the critters.

That's probably a good idea to stash it!!! :D

Ah, that's sad. Murray still has a lot of the old mine shafts around. If you leave the trails in the area you've got to be careful.

This made me laugh Daniel, your emergency food supply plan certainly didn't last long
Don't forget to hide some chocolate ;)

:ROFL: It's so funny my mom and I grabbed chocolate while we were grabbing extra emergency supplies. The guy checking us out asked if the chocolate was part of our emergency supplies. We both looked at each other and where like "No, this will be gone by the end of the week. Two tops." We said it in sync! I wonder if chocolate addiction runs in the family.

I did make sure I had enough coffee though. In our area I know what supplies they won't deem necessary to move in. :D

I ate a bunch of chocolate last night, so we have an addiction in common.

For me it was Oreos and Kit Kats.

My chocolate fix is Dark Choclate Lints, or these Belgium truffles I get from Sam's Club at Christmas!!

I also have this super-duper-special-as-sin brownie recipe I make!! :rockingbanana: That's what I'm gonna make for my B-day this year!! I can taste it! I might have to make it sooner!

All other chocolate is simply acceptable.

I hope you are going to share that recipe Shera :)

Here it is, this is pretty much my recipe!! I use dark chocolate chips instead of peanut butter, expensive dark coco powder instead . I use dark brown sugar as well. I also use either Mexican vanilla or my sinful homemade vanilla. If I'm feeling super chocolate cravings, and ambitious, I make a chocolate fudge after the brownies have been sitting for a few minutes out of the oven and poor it on top!! If I'm lazy with my cravings I make chocolate frosting from scratch for the topping, but it's not as good as the fudge.

Let me tell you the grab and growl is intense! I have to portion it out and you better find a good hiding place for your portion. Sometimes I hide mine in the freezer and either eat it frozen/slightly thawed.

I love to constantly try knew brownie recipes.

Sounds delicous, @Shera. I wish I knew how to bake.

I mean... I can make a bowl of cereal.

It's not that hard to learn. I've always loved baking. Mainly brownies and my killer chocolate chip recipe. But eventually I just went crazy with cooking and baking. Though I don't bake as much because at the end of the day I'm so pooped I really don't need more dishes to wash.

Back in the 1960s we used to eat brownies damn things had some green stuff in them for some reason after an hour things got rather strange.

I accidentally ate a special brownie at one of my friends parties. No thank you. Apparently all drugs of no good reactions with me. At least the brownie was good. Before the green stuff hit.

Be back with more animal pictures later. Taking a break from Ttalk. Going through a really really rough patch. Take care everyone!
Good luck, man. We've all been there. This awful condition takes its toll. I hope you feel better soon.

Bought the Scott Pilgrim boxset yesterday. Had my eyes on it for months and I was finally able to afford it.

Since we are sharing pictures of animals here thought I'd share mine :) My lady who passed away last spring after bringing us 16 years of joy and cuddles.
