Chit Chat and All That...

@Orions Pain Ah, I didn't corealte that him having Lyme disease and chronic mononucleosis he might get T and H. Huh, Avril Levine has Lyme and that's where she disappeared for a while.

There's lots of musicians who have talked about suffering from T. Both lead singers from Cold Play and The Who. Will.I.Am has been more vocal about it, and there's a whole slew of them that do.

I always wonder if musicians don't talk about it because they think people might start protecting their hearing or not go to shows. Concerts are where they make most of their money. Though I doubt they'd have to worry. Most people think T isn't real, or it simply won't happen to them.

So I got a InstaPot a while ago (cough, October, cough:oops:) , and I was just too fuddy to try it. So I found a clearance brisket and decided to be brave. Never cooked a brisket and never used my InstaPot. I researched how best to do it. How to also cook the baked potatoes while cooking the brisket!

Total success! :rockingbanana:I could not believe how sinful the potatoes were. Not to mention that I really do like brisket!:D It's not a common thing around here. I think I'm gonna try InstaPot cooking some more. I've been feeling so much better it's nice to get out of my T funk.

Next InstaPot meat. I think a nice pork round rump roast. I think I might marinate it in beer. Some of the recipes for InstaPot even said to cook it with the beer. Decisions, decisions.

You mean when she was replaced by her clone Melissa? :X3:
But yeah I wonder if Biebs also has some form of it. I'm guessing no because he's gearing up for a tour I believe.
I'm just surprised more don't have hyperacusis. Maybe this is why many artists seem to just drop off the face of the earth for a few years or so.

Look into Elon's Neuralink. Already working on it.

https://www.icoolkid.com/article/musks-neuralink-aims-cure-permanently-impaired

Even if this doesn't work perhaps through research they'll be able to learn more about tinnitus and hyperacusis.
That's pretty Sci-Fi. I think the Hough Ear pill (forget what it's called.) Is the safest bet for tinnitus and hyperacusis caused by hearing loss, but maybe this could help tinnitus caused by other problems.
Elon Musk will be rich as fuck if he solves tinnitus.
Musk is already rich as fuck, but I'm sure he won't mind a bit more. :D

Yeah I think we are years and years out from something like Neuralink actually being functional but it is good that it's another venue for research and maybe they'll stumble upon helpful information in the process.

We still know sooo little about the human brain. And so many cures/medicines have been found accidentally (or while looking for something else)! So who knows.

In the meantime let's hope Jeff Bezos develops debilitating tinnitus and hyperacusis lol.

That sounds delicious! Post a pic next time so we can dine with you in spirit, lol.

Nah. Bezos would be more likely to keep a cure for himself. Good Ol' Musky would give away just because of memes.

Beer works very well but open it and let it go flat before cooking with it like the night before.
Recipe for using red wine. 1 spoon for the pot 3 spoons for the cook. Add 3 more spoons to the ingredients then add a tall glass for the cook. Continue until wine is gone, now what the hell was I going to make?

@aot I'll try and remember. I'm always so bad at taking pics of the things I cook/bake. Now cat pictures I'm on it!!

@Elmer B Fuddled OH! Thanks for the advice with the beer.

Red wine can do that! He-he. Though I had to give it up it drives my T wild.

This is good Shera. Cooking always helps me get out of my tinnitus funk for a bit. I'm happy for you...these moments we celebrate. :) Big hug!
Ah, thanks. I even took the cats out on their leashes and they "helped" me trim some of the fruit trees!:) Got half of them done, so today I plan to take the fur babies out again and finish the rest of the trees. AND to remember to put poor Cinder in one of her sweaters! I forgot to yesterday and I could tell the instant she was like "Human, it's too damn cold!" I can't believe I forgot.

I'm also trying this delicious spinach muffin recipe my sister makes. Trying to sneak fiber into my parents diets! I swear they're worse than children.

I had to go on the dry no alcohol @Shera after heart surgery but as I've said, I drank my share and yours also. Alcohol never bothered the tinnitus, but chocolate sure fires it up.

I always liked a beer now and then but I've never been a big drinker. I also live in the only dry county in the state. So I don't mind giving it up for T. I'm just thankful coffee and chocolate don't affect it. I gave up coffee for 3 months since that's the only thing the doctor could agree on for making T worse. It was not a pleasant time for me or anyone around me. The magical chocolate though, you poor soul!

Coffee used to affect my tinnitus, but it doesn't anymore, thank goodness. I gotta have my fix. :coffee:

My tinnitus is super low in volume today, but also high in pitch. Kinda giving me flashbacks to my old baseline.

If it could go back to that, it'd be great. But I don't think I can ever forget how hellish it's been since November. It's like those awful, incomprehensible, cosmic horrors Lovecraft wrote about. (Aside from all that really uncomfortable race stuff.)

Anyway, what TV shows are you guys watching? I've been meaning to give Stump Town a shot but I keep putting it off.

Stump town, I read the book, its created around Dublin Ireland not seen it though.

@aot Gosh if it could go back to what my T first was . . . :rockingbanana: Let alone silence again. *sighs*

I've been watching Stumptown. Not sure if I really like it or not. I do, but I don't. I have not read the comic. For network television I watch 911, 911 Lonestar, Bob Hearts Abishola, The Neighborhood, Mixish, Blackish, Grownish, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Grey's Anatomy (at this point because of foolish loyalty), Station19 (because I'm a freaking idiot), Moms, Brooklyn 99, Superstore, Perfect Harmony, Good Girls, God Friended Me, Charmed (reboot) and Rookie. PHew! I watch a lot of shows. I'm thinking about checking out zoey's extraordinary playlist.

Right now I'm on a asain drama binge, K-dramas to be exact!!

Quite a list!

I actually started StumpTown today, and I mostly liked it. Made me nostalgic for all the old crime novels I read in high school. (I actually wanted to be a private investigator for a while, but you can't be licensed in Florida if you have a history of mental illness. Ironic, since the popular image of the profession is of a bunch of depressed alcoholics.) I haven't read the comics either but I plan to.

I do most of viewing on Netflix these days: Castlevania, Star Trek, Hilda, Stranger Things. Been meaning to give that new Sophia Lillis show a shot.

Oh! And The Owl House on Disney, which is starting to fill the Gravity Falls shaped hole in my heart.

My sisters and I used to watch the original Charmed and they told to skip the reboot. Do you like it?

@aot Yep. I've got a serious addiction/obsession. That's only my network tv stuff!! Haha!

Glad you're liking it. I enjoy Stumptown, but there's something that keeps holding me back from totally loving it. Though it did take me about a season and a half before I was totally onboard with The Good Doctor. Oh, I always loved the idea of being a private investigator too. I shadowed someone once for a paper and loved the work. I'd have to move though to get a decent amount of clients, and to be honest it's a lot harder to collect pay than even my current computer business. That is ironic. I wonder if every state is like that?

I'll have to look into Owl House. Though I refuse to buy Disney's channel.

Um, I didn't care for the old Charmed. I even made myself watch it to season 4. I do enjoy the new Charmed. First season needed work, but you could tell they had great ideas. This second season started off amazingly, but they keep sliding with these latest episodes. I'm in though.

I'm still in my teenage nostalgia phase.
I'm currently watching/re-watching:

INOWT (the Sophia Lillis show. It's good. It keeps getting compared to The End of the F** World, but TEOTFW is much better in my opinion. At least the first season. That's truly amazing.)
The 100
Anne with an E
SexEd
The Good Wife
And I always try to fall asleep watching Friends
