Chit Chat and All That...

Hey, how's everyone doing???
Crazy whats going on with this corona virus.
Lots of local stuff being cancelled. Crazy how much stuff this is affecting. My job might end up being closed for awhile, but no one knows for sure.
I'm still in my teenage nostalgia phase.
I'm currently watching/re-watching:

INOWT (the Sophia Lillis show. It's good. It keeps getting compared to The End of the F** World, but TEOTFW is much better in my opinion. At least the first season. That's truly amazing.)
The 100
Anne with an E
SexEd
The Good Wife
And I always try to fall asleep watching Friends
Anne with an E looks cute. I read the book in school and I loved it.

It definitely is! But it's actually quite different from the books and the Sullivan-version. A lot more grittier and it admittedly deals with a lot of current days issues as well. The creator is Moira Walley-Beckett who won an Emmy for Breaking Bad (Ozymandias), and it has a very strong ensemble cast, and the lead actress is fantastic. Sadly, got cancelled after just 3 seasons.

That sucks. Did they at least get a chance to finish up all the plot lines?
No. They didn't know prior. Or at least not when they were shooting. It's a Canadian show, a co-production between CBC and Netflix and quite possibly some business problem got in the way. Netflix was really classy... The finale was broadcasted on CBC 25th of Nov. and the next day on the poster for the Netflix premiere they announced that it had been cancelled. One of the kid actor got the info about cancellation while sitting in math class. The last episode is somewhat satisfactory tho, opens a window for a new chapter for Anne, but there are some unfinished plotline. Sorry for ranting about it, the show has been kind of a lifeline for me during the first months into tinnitus, and I'm disappointed that it's over.

Netflix handled that really poorly. As if Math class wasn't bad enough, you find out that you're out of a job right in the middle of it. Shameful.

@Kriszti Oooo, The 100 is good. I also enjoy The Outpost! The Good Wife is one of my all time favorites.

@OnceUponaTime Most of us around here have a good stock pile of goods. Thankfully when the toilet paper went on super sale at Sam's Club last year I bought a ton! I feel vindicated now cause everyone complained about it!! I braved the store for extra kitty litter and cat food just in case the trucks stop coming. But for the most part I feel secure. People are going a bit cray-cray. I've been going over the seeds I need to replenish for my garden and people are buying everything as well.

We went up to Yellowstone to enjoy the beautiful day! And to buy some booze to make stuff like normal. Jackson Hole felt normal as we went through. People shopping. The jets flying in to deliver people. Photographers stopping after I spotted a coyote. It all seems normal. Except when we went to the Burger King the employees are talking about Cornavirus measures. The Everclear is going like crazy. And you see everyone coming out of anywhere they can get toilet paper.

My sister just got back from Disneyland and suddenly clued into whats happening. I think her hubby was just telling her it was nothing so they could go. But they're out of toilet paper now! She sent me a pic of her last square.

@aot It was funny every thing local is getting canceled as well. Schools, church, everything. I wasn't too fond of taking my mom to her doctors appointments in the big city. Because they weren't necessary.

Man, I need to get back into nature one of these days. It's been ages since I was out in the country. It's very relaxing. Yellowstone looks beautiful in the pictures I've seen.

Schools are closed for two weeks here. The fair and whole bunch of other stuff is canceled. I've never seen anything like it.

What do you mean when you say the doctor visits aren't necessary, if you don't mind me asking?

We are good here bought enough to last a month, but its panic shopping here, never seen so much toilet paper being bought up. Dont people know this virus doesn't give you the shites but hey a bad curry might. If you are out wash your hands use a hand sanitizer after pushing a shopping cart around, hands washed after handling anything, use good hygiene.
For us we live way out and away from people so if it gets bad or worse we can order food online.
Stay safe all my friends
Elmer x

Are they serious 150 dollars for 5oz bottle of sanitizer, or more? You can make your own. We surely did because we couldn't find any.

If you're lucky enough to have aloe plant growing in your window good. Because you need some.
If you have rubbing alcohol good also, if not alcohol over 90 proof. Mix 2/3 cup alcohol to 1/3 cup aloe, add 10 drops tree tea oil got it at a health shop or same amount of any pure oils like lavender mix together and put into small bottles for to carry.

Bahahahaha... She must be panicking...:LOL::ROFL:

Schools are cancelled here for a month! Not that it affects me, I homeschool my girls. So for us is business as usual, although my girls said we should cancel homeschool! (The nerves!):LOL::love:

@aot Even with people moving in around us, we're still very much in the country here. I like living so close to all these beautiful woodlands, rivers and stuff.

Well she went to a few appointments in which she told the doctors nothing is acting up and all is good. The doctors kind of gave her this look like "why did you drive down 3 hours then?" The one doctor basically said "if it makes you feel good we can schedule a yearly, but your doing so well we can just go on a as needed." Only one doctor was legit, the cardiologist. But she spends so much time at every appointment talking about the fact that she can hear her heart beat in her head. *rolleyes* I had to tell the cardiologist why we were there and he agreed with me to run the tests that we needed. We went to 7 appointments. The ENT was fine, it makes her feel better. But the cardiologist was the only one I think she needed and should have taken seriously. I love her to death, but shes got an addiction to going to the doctor. More appointments coming up.

@Elmer B Fuddled We're in the country too. I'm not to worried. Even if our 3 month supply goes out, we can hunt and with the weather warming up foraging is looking good this year!

@OnceUponaTime Huh, I think our school year has been canceled until they decide what's going on. Oh, yeah. My sister is freaking now. And she's a bit ticked at her husband. Cause who says no storage and uses the most?

Hey, it was worth a try!

My mom's the opposite: She hates going to the doctor, even when she really needs to. She has a lot of health problems so doctor visits are common, but she keeps putting them off and trying to cancel them.

Much appreciated, Elmer. Will keep this in mind.

So, I just finished reading this great comic called Low, written by Rick Remender.

I really needed this right now. It shows how hope can keep you going, even in the darkest, most depraved circumstances. Fear and distress are okay and natural, but letting them overtake and control you will mean that you'll be blinded to chances to fix things.

The comic expresses it better than I can, but it really spoke to me.

I have to wait untill next year for the next volume though, and it's killing me. They seem to be setting up a romance that I really don't like and my fave character seems to have just dissapeard from the plot, but I can't wait to see how it all ends. (Forwarned, very nsfw.)

Up next is The Master and Margarita.

Sounds like my mom. :eek::confused::cautious::facepalm:

I'm thinking you would have said the same? LOL...

@aot My mom has a ton of health issues as well. But I think if she spent as much time pouring over all her tests and going to doctors and directed that energy living well she'd do better. And a therapist. She could really use a therapist.

Ooooooo, Low sounds good. I'll add it to my list. I hate unsavory romances and when a fave character just vanishes!!

@OnceUponaTime I feel like most people's instincts are to avoid the doctor.

Ooooooo, Low sounds good.
It's super good! I liked volume one, but volume two sold me completely.

Vampire mermaids. Enough said.

Sorry that your mom is so sick. It can be really overwhelming.

As promised pictures of my baked goods. I think I metioned the before . . . maybe not. Anywho I'm trying to figure out how to get some healthy things into my parents' diets. So Spinach Muffins. I told them they were Hulk Muffins in honor of St. Patricks day.

Yum!!!! They look delish! I want one now!:wacky::LOL:

Ooooooooo. Word just came in. (Or my mom just got a call tonight.) Looks like all Major hospitals are closing up and no appointments. To be honest I'm so relieved. Maybe they realized some people are just too addicted to doctoring to quit going while the outbreak is happening.

My mom is freaking, but they're doing a phone appointment. Which is what I wish they would do anyway. That's too long a drive to just sit there while they look at the tests and results to give you the verdict.

Wow they're really going all out with this aren't they? What are people supposed to do if they get hurt?

You know I'm not sure if they've closed down the ERs. Just the specialty clinics.

Done looking it up. The ER is still up, but they have new screening processes in place.

Huh, what is your allergist going to do? Don't they have to give you those shots every week or they start all over?

uh, what is your allergist going to do? Don't they have to give you those shots every week or they start all over?
I have to go every 2 weeks., and trust me, I faithfully go because they work for me. I stopped going for 3 months thinking it was ok and had terrible allergies. I restarted my treatment and I am better again and no allergies. (Nock on wood.) You don't have to start all over, just repeat some shots you already had just before you stopped treatment. Basically, more money and more shots... ughhh. (Did I explained that right?? hahaha)

My job is closed down until further notice. (Now I have legtimate reason to sit at home in my pajamas and watch cartoons. ;))
