Chit Chat and All That...

Just had my first can of Soda in I think three or four months, and my Visual Snow is not having it, man.View attachment 39779 Also, has anyone watched the new Perry Mason show? Any good?
Wow, does drinking soda effect your visual snow? Never had that before. It only gets a bit out of hand at night if I had a lot of stress during the day (which happens a lot thanks to Covid).

Perry Mason is quite ok. Not exceptionally thrilling when it comes to action or acting (although I love the way John Lithgow acts), but the themes are interesting: racism (officer Drake is very competent, but undermined by his superiors) , religion (everybody seems to think Sister Alice receives visions from God, but she's probably epileptic), personal trauma (Perry Mason has experienced a lot of sh*it during WW I). Don't know if it's loyal to the Perry Mason novels, but it's definitely worth a watch if you're into traditional detective stories

From what I know, it's a very in name only adaptation. Not that I mind. But from the trailers and from what I know of the original, it's not accurate at all. Perry is a P.I here as opposed to a Lawyer. He fought in WW2 as opposed WW1, Paul Drake is a white not black, etc. Makes me think they just wanted an original series and they just slapped the Perry Mason brand on there for name recognition. Like I said though, I don't mind. I'll give it a watch once I'm done with Penny Dreadful.

I haven't shared a picture of Sneakers yet! She's the cat outside of the cage. This is a rare shot in which all four of my cats are in the picture. (Midnight is in that little play tent, you can barely see her looking out.

This "doggie cage" is something I've wanted for a long time. Especially now that I've got three leash cats. (Though Midnight loathes the leash and harness and prefers the cage.) When I'm outside working it's too much work keeping the cats untangled because cats on leashes don't believe they need to not wrap around things! Mulan is on the left, Cinder is on the cinder block :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::p, and Midnight is on the right rolling around like a fool.

Also no one has said anything, but that's really cool! Did you build them yourself?

Nope. Homedepot had it marked down $200 less than everyone else, so I splurged.

I will, however, be making the shelves for it. I can't decide between wood, or a PVC/hamock type.

Had my first day back at work after months of being at home. Doing short shifts with different work, but at least it's a way to keep busy...

Still gutted I've had to give up so much due to my health just giving up completely this year.

Why do some people post little signatures under their posts?

Is it cool? Is it hip? Should I start doing it?

Aot.

Oh man, a forum I was on as a teen had signatures for everyone. I'd always put mine full of lyrics in really bad Photoshop edits and inside jokes with friends on the forum :D good times. Still friends with some of those people, known them for close to 10 years now! It's also how I got fluent in English when I was 14 lol.

Damn, that explains why some people are so devout about going to church on Sunday, hoping to listen to the priest's weekly sermon about how the nuns of the Order of the Cruciform Sword kicked the devil's butt and saved earth for the umpteenth time. Oh well, we can always catch up by watching the tv series;)

I haven't watched all the series you've mentioned. But I agree that not all of them are super duper balanced. I do have that feeling with Daredevil. Well balanced between humour (a goofy side kick like Foggy Nelson), action (who wouldn't want to see a blind man fight 100 people all by himself), and romance (for a devout catholic, Matt Murdoch surely is very loosy goosy when it comes to women). It sure is a problem that nowadays they need to rush a production of a season by filming everything in three or four months, which is definitely not good for quality. Hope Netflix will learn their lesson and don't do the same thing to the last avatar(y)

Ha yes you can, I'm sure the show will catch you up on all the secretiveness of the church, give you hints and tips Incase you ever come face to face with the devil.

Ah man I hope they don't ruin the last avatar, you only have to look at the film, that still gives me nightmares. Yes that's one of the the major problems, high demand so they seem to rush the filming, writing and it shows as the series seem to lack any heart and story.

It's attitude my friend. I had a bad experience with a dog when I was little, hated them. (Plus, people let them run lose in the country and they'd run in packs and tear other animals apart.) While herding some cattle I fell in love with this Australian cattle dog. It was my first time and that dog looked after me. After that experience I noticed that dogs liked me better because my attitude towards them had changed.

I can now make any dog I want obey me if I put in the work. My neighbor had this naughty one in within an hour there was an invisible line that I trained the dog not to cross.

Attitude my friend. Cats are the same way.

My mom will flinch and she will get clawed and buzzed. Me they can growl and sound like mountain lions and I don't flinch, plus I'll get after them, and it's A-Okay.

That does makes sense but I can't help and be wary when they are around, I'm scarred mentally and physically by those little demons :LOL::ROFL:

I'll have to change my attitude and see if they are more receptive to me :eek: most dogs are easy to train as you said as long as you put in the time and effort, most don't and wonder why they are so disobedient. Tbh my dog was unruly but he was so so dumb, we even tried to get him trained by two trainers and nope too dumb.

Thank you for the much needed laugh!!! I feel dumb, but I was literally screeching with laughter at the witch doctor one. Next time they ask me that at my Doctor's surgery I'm going to crack up :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Listen I'll take any laughs were I can get them, the more stupid the humour the better :LOL::LOL: we need our sense of humour

That's actually amazing to hear about teaching yourself English. I'm impressed with that. I love languages anyway.

It's an attempt at sincerity, probably practiced by the "older generation" schooled with traditional stylistic forms, tones and grammatical structures appropriate for different literary situations. Probably not cool or hip like the boring ass sentence I just wrote.

Take care,
Daniel...

@Shera
Your cats have cool names. I never had a cat, so do they actually listen to their name?

@aot
I don't know. My father doesn't really know how to send text messages on phone, so I write and send them for him when I'm available and he always insists on putting his signature at the end of each message. I told him it's unnecessary, but he thinks it's rude without it.

Has anyone else seen The Old Guard on Netflix? I wasn't expecting much but was pleasently surprised. :) I swear, Charlize Theron is like a fine wine: The older she gets, the more she kicks ass.

(Not a fan of the super out of place soundtrack though:cautious:)
