Chit Chat and All That...

I had 2 days of quiet then yesterday the damn ringing and hissing hit like a brick wall. Thinking back I believe what fired it up was the honey I added to my porridge, which probably wasn't pure but a jar of sugar. Now it's tough to ignore the ringing. Ya dumb ass Elmer!!!
I'm so sorry! I hope it fades/goes back down.

Hopefully it will go back down Elmer, I know sugar, coffee, salt etc can wreak havoc on people's T but they normally go back down to baseline.
I've quit coffee twice now and I never could see that it spiked mine. I actually find it can ease a headache or even my T temporarily. I've backed down to one cup a day, but it's so tempting to be naughty!

Me taking my Magnesium everyday after I get home from work.
I'm going to start up again. Mainly for my spine vibrations to see if will calm the muscles down. I'm gonna pay attention to see if it helps with my tinnitus. I've taken it off and on for my muscles, but never noticed anything with my tinnitus.

We'll see.

Have you noticed a difference with your hyperacusis and tinnitus yet?

Nothing with tinnitus. Hyperacusis is a little better, but tbh I don't know if that's related to the Magnesium, or if it's just a natural recovery over time.
But the Magnesium makes me feel safer and there's no downsides to using it, at least as far as I've encountered. Mine come in a Gummy form, which is pretty cool I guess.

Is there any particular type of magneisum you guys take @Shera, @aot and @anyone else?

I've been very slow to the game when it comes to supplements. What about NAC?

My oldest shouted in my ear today, which is becoming a regular occurence, so I think I need to be prepared more.

I'm curious if anyone has tried certain CBT books to help with T?:bookworm: I got a few and right now I'm listening to The New Mood Therapy by David D. Burns.

I've decided I need to try different things clearly, cause what I have been doing isn't helping. Just took the "Burns Depression Checklist" and . . . it was eye opening. :cautious:

I take Magnesium Citrate from Spring Valley in the afternoon. (Some people have reported a laxative effect from Magnesium Citrate, but I haven't encountred any problems.)

In the mornings I take NAC from Jarrow Formulas. Take in the morning, on an empty stomache, half an hour before breakfast.

Awww bummer! Hope it settles down for you quickly. I know I have to be careful around sweets because the hissing gets bad.

July has been rough for me with loud hissing and headaches. But the last couple of days the headache subsided and I felt a little better.

Hope you are all doing well.

It looks horrendous there Star I'm sorry so glad I live in the wet miserable UK to be honest.....

Haha who am I kidding it looks fecking glorious there, am not jealous honest :cautious: yeah we will get one or two days of nice weather then the usual downfall

Hope you and your lovely family are ok and the little ones are keeping you on your toes.
I used to love visiting the UK in the winter, it was a novelty for me to wear a coat  My Grandma was Scottish but lived in London so I spent many winters as a child there hoping to see snow.

All well here Jcb, we are back in lockdown so once again I am helping with the home schooling, sometimes I wonder who's helping who though  can't believe how tech savvy these young kids are these days, they outdo me.

I did try and upload you a British summer, but I even failed at that :wacky:

Wow, that looks lovely!
We have had a very mild winter so far but the weather in Melbourne has always been known for giving us four seasons in the one day, especially during our summer.

The photo is from a walking track right behind where I live, I walk 5 km on it everyday, I have to walk with a mask on now, they have made it compulsory, but if you jog or run you get an exemption from wearing one.

Hopefully that might spur me on to pick up a bit of pace

Hope you are keeping well and are enjoying your summer :huganimation:

I feel you on the four seasons in one day. We had that yesterday! The snow on the mountain tops is renewed! Snow!!!

I wish I had an easy access trail that close. I love to hike and walk.

I"m also curious what kind of tree that is. Wondering if it's just native to Australia?

Thanks Once, I am still suffering with the ringing and hissing, it's not backed off, usually I'm able to ignore it, not this time.
Wishing you well and hoping you and your family are safe.

I stopped for about 1 week made no difference but I'm not if I quit long enough even though it did get headaches. Not much spikes my T in terms of food, drink etc so I'm lucky in that sense. It's crazy what affects one doesn't affect another.

Scottish grandmother eh that explains a lot about you now and your feistiness hahaha it's a novelty if we get to wear shorts my poor legs look transparent 11.5 months of the year haha

I know they pick up all on most things technology based so quickly I suppose they are teaching you a lot of new things haha you'll be the cool grandmother now (I bet you were already tbh) I bet they are loving you teaching them though  sorry to hear about the lockdown it's a blessing and a curse ha.

I quit for 3 months each time. No tinnitus difference. I was just grumpy without my coffee.

Same, well more grumpy I should say. I have about 3-4 cups a day which I know isn't great but I don't drink anymore or do much tbh so it's my treat haha

I made a lemon drizzle today for the first time, it looked a bit er sad but it tasted amazing

Has anybody watched Wentworth? It's a remake of that old Aussie prison drama. It's got me hooked, I'm only on ep 4 of season 1 but so far so good.

Oh, I cut myself back on coffee. I was relying too much on it to stay awake. Plus, it may have been affecting my sleep patterns. I was super surprised I didn't get withdrawals or headaches. Though if I have a headache coffee makes it better!

That sounds yummy! All that matters is that it tastes good!

What channel/streaming service is this on?

I have quit coffee several times over the years and it made no difference to my tinnitus either. I have not had any alcohol for nearly 17 months, I only drank an occasional glass of prosecco anyway so I have not really missed it.

But coffee, I need coffee :D

Due to lockdown I bought myself a coffee machine and I have been practicing my latte art skills.
Don't think I will be winning any latte art competitions in the near future :LOL:

Hi Star,
That's an impressive tree in the photo... what kind of a tree is that?
Hugs
It is a gum tree but I am not sure what species of gum. Most gums are native to Australia and apparently Papua New Guinea has them too.

The track behind where I live has so many different shapes and sizes of gum trees, The Kookaburras love them ;)

Lemon drizzle, now that sounds like a British cake :LOL: As long as it tasted amazing that is the main thing.

I have been baking a bit more lately, nothing much else to do when you are in lock down, baking ingredients were hard to find on the shelf for awhile though here because of panic buying.

Glad your enjoying Wentworth it is a remake of the Aussie drama called prisoner which aired from 1979 till 1986.
I loved the original prisoner, I watched every episode but I have never watched Wentworth.

My sons all rave about this show and they have watched every season. Apparently season 8 is just airing here now and a season 9 is due to commence being filmed but as Wentworth is filmed here in Melbourne it has to wait till restrictions are lifted.

A picture of me from 78 years ago today.

I should mention that my aunt was present at the time of my birth, and informed me that my poor mother had no idea she was carrying twins.
I was born second, and was a complete surprise.
I was a 'breach birth,' so the first the world saw of
'yours truly' was my arse.

Apparantly, the midwife took one look at me, and slapped my mother!
After that, it was all down hill.

I take mountain "dew" made in the mountains, it cures all. About 99 proof.

I love your latte art!!! I feel you on the " But coffee, I need coffee"

I was never much of a drinker any way, but wine is not my friend anymore for sure with T.
