Great to be part of the Forum. Mindfulness teaches us to stop the "war" with ourselves. Kind of stops the tinnitus vs me dynamic. Glad you are interested in this new approach.Dr. Gans!! I will add my welcome to this thread! I, as are many here in the T community, are hungry for input from knowledgeable people who actually understand (as much as one can without actually having T) what we are going thru, and can offer credible treatments or therapies!!
I like your moniker of: looking for a new way to live with rather than against tinnitus!! I am glad you found our little corner of the world here at TT!!!

Good to hear from you. Hyperacusis I work with in the same way as tinnitus--with a mindfulness approach + education. What have you tried?Welcome Dr. Gans! I read your website. You mention hyperacusis but do not mention how you treat it. Can you explain how you treat hyperacusis? Thank you, it is great to have you here.
Hello Dr Gans just want to say welcome to the forum. Can I ask you if you also have Tinnitus? I've had it for 7 months and its been one of the most challenging things I gone/am going through in my life. This forum has truely been a blessing tho glad you can join us.
I am happy to be here to speak about what is really happening in the medical/psychological community. It's also a great way to alert people to new approaches to healing like Mindfulness Based Tinnitus Stress Reduction (MBTSR). I'm happy to be here to share what I know. Thanks for the warm welcome.
Dr. Gans, in your opinion, why is that websites like webmd as well as ENTs never mention that most people eventually recover from tinnitus (https://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/spontaneous-recovery-stats-over-70-recover-3-studies.21441/ )?
