Well, I'm all about the research.
Excellent. Let me know when research comes up with a predictably effective cure so we can all celebrate together.

Very vague.
You say that the TRT protocol for treating people with "reactive" tinnitus is "very vague." Well the oft heard statement "Everybody is different and everybody's tinnitus is different" is very vague as well. What is it that you want here - a highly specific non-vague description for how to treat people with a totally amorphous subjective vague condition? TRT when tailored to the needs of individuals with "reactive" tinnitus is very effective. It is not perfect. Nothing in this world is. But it is nonetheless very effective. Period. End of story.

Well, there's things upcoming so, we'll see. Just getting ahold of these things, will be difficult.
Talk about vague! Now THAT'S vague.

I'm not here to argue against TRT. I just believe tinnitus could've been solved ages ago. I looked up the history of KV3.1 modulators and there's research and documents from 2003 suggesting that they could treat tinnitus. That was 12 years ago.

Well tinnitus wasn't solved 12 years ago. And although I would love to be wrong, in my opinion 12 years from now it still won't be solved. More to the point, if when I first developed severe intrusive tinnitus back in 1994-5, had I decided to wait for tinnitus to be solved instead of looking outside the box for some effective practical answers, then I'd still be suffering today. And to my way of thinking that would have been just plain stooooopid.

Well, I did look outside the box and I'm in a better position. By 12 years, we'll have a treatment, not a cure, that's for sure.

People it was the trobalt but he took it early onset. Thats why we try to encorage people to act fast.

Yep. I still want to see someone within 1 week taking this, see what it does. Interesting.

If only I had it within that time...But hey, getting it, is hard.
If only ... if only ... if only. Well there are plenty of if only's on this board who are truly suffering. Suffering terribly. Read @Street Spirit's posts. Read @Telis's posts. They are really and truly hurting. Big time. What are they and the hundreds upon hundreds like them supposed to do? Just wait around and be miserable? I don't THINK so!

Well, the point is, to educate them and give them hope. And we've managed to give people hope, so we need to press on and continue to do so.

I'm sorry, Danny Boy. But when you are totally miserable TODAY hope for something that might or might not happen at some vaguely defined time in the future ... well that doesn't mean jack spit.

I'm not miserable? I have sorted out most of the issues I have. My tinnitus is reduced to a 3 from a 10, no hyperacusis or reactive tinnitus. That's quite the accomplishments.

How nice for you. But it's not helping the @Street Spirit's of the world one hairy bit.

What do you propose those who suffer do???

My style might be a bit indelicate at times, but I want them to know that there are real answers out there and people who really do care.

If the general advice offered on this board does not help, then I would suggest that they personally contact a knowledgeable and experienced tinnitus clinician to discuss in detail the particulars of their individual cases. And if that proves fruitless, then they should contact another ... and another ... and another. At least that's what I did back when I myself was suffering so terribly.

Not everyone has those kind of resources.

Right. But I bet if you really put your mind to it, you could find a few who would at least be willing to listen and offer some suggestions at no cost at all.

Well, why not start with the four who willingly and freely share their knowledge and expertise on the Doctors' Corner.
