My only suggestion about salt, sugar and other things we consume is, we need to make sure our digestive system is in the best working order possible. Salt is widely used everywhere in foodstuffs simply because it makes food taste better, and you will continue to buy this food and ingest it. Your sodium intake really is your responsibility. Sodium amounts for recommended daily intake are listed on pretty much everything now, or listed somewhere on a chart in a restaurant etc. You see this on most food items you buy at any market, store, etc. A little chart is there. plain as day, written small but if you focus you can read it, that tells you what percent of what item you are ingesting in a recommended daily intake level. If you eat 12 potato chips of X brand = 1 serving = 49% of recommended sodium intake.
Sugar has no recommended maximum daily intake level. It will simply tell you how much sugar is in it eg. 14g sugar per serving. Want to know why sugar is not listed under a recommended daily intake level? Because its a TOXIN. There is no recommended maximum intake level for toxins. Then we get to the part of, how toxic? Well it depends on the sweetener. Many different forms of sugar. When you think of sugar, you think of the teaspoon of the white granular sweet sugar you dump in your coffee. That sugar is a tad less toxic, or less harder to break down than other types of modified sugars we use now. High Glucose Fructose. Sounds innocent enough. On a molecular scale, our body needs to go to WAR with this stuff, yet it's in everything. Why? Because it's so super cheap to manufacture, and so super sweet that less is needed, and hence more profitable for the company selling the goods. Ah OK well Mike, I use artificial sweeteners so I'm perfectly safe!! WRONG! Research in depth what artificial sweetener you are consuming. Where does it come from? What does it do to our immune and digestive systems? Answer?? WAY WAY worse than sugar!!
So back I go to keeping your digestive system healthy. Not only are you what you eat, but you also are what you allow to take place in the digestive system. So lets say for a moment you eat decent veggies often. Awesome!! Good nutrition, great fiber. Feels good knowing you are eating better. You try n cook with less salt etc. Super!! If the food still tastes decent than your awesome. Then you grab some potato chips once in awhile. Grab a snack at a cafeteria with your coffee at lunch that is barely nutritious enough to be called food. Hey, it's a ham sandwich on whole wheat bread with cheese!! Cant be all that bad right?? WRONG! The bread is processed. The ham preserved til 2099, the cheese processed, etc etc. So are you REALLY eating well? Probably not and neither am I. Just too hard too with all the processed and ready made stuff today. Inside our digestive track are billions and billions of good bacteria. These little critters are what break down what we eat and turn them into ENERGY! So after say, 10 years of eating processed foods here and there, and trying to eat better here and there, we thing we are probably in A OK shape. Nope! There are also billions and billions of BAD bacteria that grow in our system. In what is known as a healthy digestive track, the good should outnumber the bad by at least 2 to 1. We let it go past this and we slowly become ill. Headaches, irritable, catch more colds, sore joints, cranky, feeling yukky. But its a slow progression so much ignored. Well hey Mike, I eat a lot of yogurt and everyone knows yogurt is full of the good bacteria! TRUE! However its also full of sweeteners. One cancels out the other!!
Trying to maintain your digestive track is so important it isn't even funny. Myself I use a Probiotic supplement. I swear by them and so do all my family and friends. My skin looks better, I feel better, enough energy to get thru just about any kind of day, cannot remember the last time I caught a cold........? My immune system must be working somewhat better. Placebo effect?? NOPE! Not a chance. I know what this does, and know when I have stopped in the past taking these probiotics, how I felt. Thats me. Thats my story and my theory on how to better cope with what ever life throws at you. It will not help Tinnitus at all in my opinion. But staying balanced should make it easier to deal with this and sure does for me!! Too hard to keep the good bacteria going with the foods today. They need a little help??
I am Mike and I am completely deaf now. My Tinnitus is so loud its impossible to describe! I can cope, as long as I feel well! Good luck everyone!
