I was shocked to read yesterday on Facebook that the member @Danny Boy has passed away. There are no details disclosed about what have happened. In the past I had spoken with him over the phone various times. We all knew him by his radical threads, negotiating about medication effectiveness.

I wish he found peace and I hope for him to be in a better place away from the inhumane torment of tinnitus and visual snow. Goodbye Daniel.

Oh so very sorry. I didn't know him. Can those that did - share some good memories for everyone to know Danny Boy?

Danny Boy was a much loved and respected member of Tinnitus Talk.

My thoughts are with his family at this devastating time and they will need space to grieve.
We all will be shocked and saddened to hear the loss of our dear member Danny Boy at such a young age too!

We can all support each other through this really sad time.

love glynis

May God Rest his soul. I am going to miss you Daniel. I am going to miss talking to you about England and European Union. I hope you are happy wherever you are :(

What I will remember most about Danny was that the motive for most of his posts was to help others by providing useful information and encouraging them. At His very core he was a decent and good-hearted man who cared about others.

For those of you that did not know him, you can check out his profile page. Since He joined the Forum in October of 2014, he has 60 "followers" and a very significant number of positive "Post Ratings."
That and His "Hall of Fame" rating should tell you something about what an asset He was to the Forum :

Dear Danny, I will miss you a lot. We met on tinnitus chat 5 years ago and since then we spoke regularly, sometimes every day, sometimes once a week.

You told me this could happen to you as your tinnitus was destroying your life. You were sad because the people around you did not understand you. But I did. I am shocked cos you went before me...

You often told me about your Ex Alicia. She really killed your will for life. She forbid you to see your daughter, then she reported you to authorities that you work on black, that was far away from the truth but she wanted to ruin you.

And she did. The government suspended money you received, you stayed poor living on maximum 300£, and with tinnitus, you were sad, isolated, you had no money.

There was this medicine called clonazepam that helped you survive. Your mom took it from you even though that neurologist said it will help you. Your doctor did not want to give it to you.

I remember talking with you and you telling me you have no more money and your mom really does not care, she cares about her boyfriend and tells you to forget about tinnitus and start learning Italian or was it Spanish like tinnitus is something we can wish away.

I do know you had your mistakes, but that money, few games and survival medication with love toward your daughter were all that kept you alive but you said you were heartbroken how you can't buy the proper birthday present to your little daughter. How her mother is doing everything to ruin you.

You know I am the most honest person, you said it so many times, and also you knew me as the person who spoke his mind directly and did not hide things.

You had a hard life, the life we don't deserve but people around you definitely did their best to turn it to hell, and to kill any will for life in you.

I am sorry I did not come on your invitation to the UK when you said there is place as your mom left you alone and went to travel with her boyfriend and to check papers and fight for you... you were left to fend for yourself... that is sad truth and people who should give you life gave you hell...broke you

feeling heartbroken.

Logged back in for the first time in ages to pay my respects. When I found out Danny had passed my heart dropped. I haven't really talked to him since 2015/2016 when I was having the hardest time with my Tinnitus, but Danny was one of the main reasons why I didn't give up back then. I remember a skype call with him how we ranted about tinnitus and we made fun of each other's accents (he started it haha). Regardless of how he died he would want us to carry on helping others who are also suffering. I've been contemplating joining a new Tinnitus study that is local at the university of Michigan, I think I am going to follow through with that in honor of Danny.

Rest in peace friend. I never got a chance to thank you properly for helping me through my dark times. I will find you on the other side someday...

I was friends with Danny on Facebook. He video chatted me about a month ago but I was sleeping (it was wee morning hours) and I never got around calling him back which I deeply regret now. I'm shocked to have read he passed away. I hope you're at peace now Danny Boy. Gonna miss you.

He could have atleast tried to wait until Frequencies trial and Susan Shore's device, surely he had known about this, it's ashame tinnitus makes people so miserable they'd do anything to escape it.

He had a lot of integrity and his threads were very useful but ultimately I don't think tinnitus can't be solved by any drug currently available.

PLEASE USE THIS AS A CASE TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR TINNITUS AND HEARING LOSS RESEARCH SO DANNY'S CAUSE ISN'T IN VAIN. HABITUATION IS NOT THE ANSWER, LET THE ATA KNOW!

Yes Christian 78 a beautiful tribute to Danny Boy. Sounded like his life was hard and he was struggling... no one knows what a person is going through especially with an invisible symptom such as tinnitus.

I only knew him of reading his many informative posts and few messages in conversion where we talked about his experience with anti-seizures drugs, it was too sad to read from him that he was taking Carbamazepine to improve the side effect of Trobalt, but it only worsened VS.

Recently he asked me to send him link to my fb account to continue speak in voice chat, unfortunately I sent it too late.

I'm sure Danny was a very nice and caring person.

This is a shock. I was wondering what happened to him. I did see he started posting again recently. He was really smart and was able to find incredible info that he would post. Very sad.

It seems highly likely to me that these heavy drugs make everything ten times worse.
Experimenting with drugs is highly dangerous in my opinion.
Once you have gambled on a course of drugs, you can't go back and "untake" them, can you?
'Light the blue touch paper - and stand well clear.'

Yes, we need a treatment,
We need a cure,
Habituation is not the answer.

Until there is an answer sufferers will often need therapeutic support, otherwise those that go looking for help will simply be told,
"Hard luck - there is nothing for you,'
- and be thrown on a tragic rubbish dump!

Often people have given their lives, their marriages, their everything, and have nothing left.
They need humane treatment.

I have not been back to TT for some time but have just logged in to see this news. I was shocked to my core and so saddened to learn that Danny Boy has passed. You tried to help so many others. I hope you are at peace now Danny. This is just too sad for words. I'm logging out as this brings me to tears. God Bless you Danny.

I heard on the grapevine that something had happened to Danny so I logged in to see this! I feel like I've been stabbed in the heart; it's made me feel sick. I'm so shocked that words don't even come close. When I first signed up here Danny was a true hero and was always trying to help others. He was the epitome of what a member should be in my opinion.

I'm so shocked and saddened that I've decided to take action, today, because enough is enough. I've set up a fund in Danny's honour and have made the first donation. Please don't hold back because no gimmicks are required on this one.

Please donate anything you can:

Giant Kudos to you for taking action!

I have donated, and I urge each and everyone on this forum to give to this donation. Let's make Danny's death count for something! Even if you can only spare a few pounds, DONATE IT NOW! I did not have much to spare either as it is the end of the month and I am low on money, but if we all gave a few pounds it could really amount to something. GO PEOPLE!

Can you share the fundraiser on Tinnitus Hub's Facebook page, Ed? we need to get the message across on several platforms I feel.

Already started the dialogue with Markku. Just waiting for him to log in now.

I want us to blow £10,000 out of the water, and to generate a significant number, because Danny's death is not going to be in vain. This needs to start a major ball rolling and I want to see every active member contribute where possible. Enough is enough. It's time for us ALL to take some real action. Let's make this the catalyst.

RIP, Danny. You'll never be forgotten.

Totally agree. This is the big one this fundraiser! If this can't raise money, nothing will!

I want to give a little more money, next month.... can I do that?

I have shared the fundraiser on my FB page.

Such sad news, rest easy Danny. Gone way too soon.

Danny also suffered from severe visual snow syndrome which was making his life extremely difficult, along with the tinnitus and hyperacusis.

May he Rest In Peace.

Downloaded app to phone and joined team and made first donation.
As moderator of Tinnitus Hub Facebook group I hope it's put on our group.
