I'm going to liaison with @Ed209 on this.

I'll ask BTA if they can earmark the funds for research purposes, in addition to providing their seal of approval for the fundraising campaign.

Following that, I hope BTA will promote the campaign on their channels, as well.

Update

Helen (Head of Major Giving for the British Tinnitus Association) will discuss the fundraising campaign tomorrow with David Steele (Head of Individual Giving).

We will then know more details about the allocation of the raised funds and BTA's support for the campaign.

Additionally, I will attempt to gently reach out to @Danny Boy's family. This is naturally a time of immense grief for them and their wishes need to be respected. They may, for example, request privacy.

I will post another update when I know more.

He could have atleast tried to wait until Frequencies trial and Susan Shore's device, surely he had known about this, it's ashame tinnitus makes people so miserable they'd do anything to escape it.

He had a lot of integrity and his threads were very useful but ultimately I don't think tinnitus can't be solved by any drug currently available.

So sharing his personal life is not a good idea, and the real reason is the family that did its all to kill his life or what remained of it.

I don't know the details regarding his family, and I know he had problems with visual snow. However, I think we need to do this for Danny so that it doesn't happen to anybody else. We can honour him by being vocal about what tinnitus can do to a person and help stop this happening to others as best we can.

Hello all, have to say I usually let this sort of thing go without comment just thoughts for that person as to me it can come across a bit me me me to comment if you get me.

Thing is I can't let this go, Danny Boy gone, that's really hard to take, gone, he was part of this group, a big part. We don't know the circumstances but if it's a possibility he could have been helped, it's too late. This is bad bad bad.

Hopefully there is another life somewhere and he's living it Tinnitus free.

Logged back on to pay my respects. Danny Boy was always responsive to my messages and posts when I first developed tinnitus in 2016. He was supportive and kind. I will always remember him for that, because those were dark times for me. We need a cure or at least a good treatment for this horrible condition that silently impacts so many of us..

For those of you especially @Christian78 - I understand your grief and pain losing your internet/facebook/TT friend Danny. A loss like this cuts so deeply into one's heart and soul. Very few (outsiders) understand the depth of pain. This grief will hit you in many ways.

The empty space inside your soul. The blank computer screen where you once spoke with Danny - the knowledge of his life and unhappy relations who hurt him in too many ways to count. This is for his young daughter to one day read and understand - her father's importance in our world. She will someday see how he helped so many of you despite his own horrible living conditions and personal financial situation.

Maybe create another thread and take time to grieve and talk with each other about the pain. This is so important.

Be patient for the fundraiser to get established and grow.

OMG! That is really sad to hear!

He was a really nice boy and he was the one giving me a lot of hope, when I first came on here 3 years ago. He had a very investigative mind and was not afraid to test things out and tell about it. Kinda like "Viking".

If you go back 2-3 years, you´ll even find the words "I love you" in some of my posts to him.

RIP Danny Boy. Jeez, this was sad . He really gave a lot of people hope!
