Hello there!
I'm V and I'm rather new to this. I have been battling with Tinnitus and Hyperacusis for a year and 1 month. I developed Tinnitus from my daily maladaptive daydreaming since I was 14 . It was my only way that i personally found to cope.

However I live with guilt everyday because unlike most.. I actually caused my tinnitus and hyperacusis unintentionally. It's been one insane ride since I've developed both. I don't want to be a burden to anyone here. I would just greatly appreciate it if i could get some guidance on what to do now or even some support. I wouldn't mind if others shared their experiences with tinnitus or hyperacusis. Heck, anything at this point ... I just don't want to feel like an alien anymore.

Anyways thank you for the read. Hope all is well

@Seamad, you're not a burden. I caused my T as well. I'm 4 months in. You say you're new, if you're like a days new, go to the doctor immediately and try the steroids. There are other things that may improve your chances of recovery if you act fast. When you see this thing called habituation, don't think that it makes the sound go away. This is a hardware problem, not a software problem. Also, if your tinnitus is noise induced, there may be a viable treatment/cure coming soon and it is in phase 2 FDA clinical trials in America. Hold on. You're in for a wild ride, but you're not alone. This is a great forum. It has helped me a lot. Come check out MPP, we are going to meme-ing our way towards a cure.

just thought I'd share this with you because it has given me great optimism that sometime, potentially soon, we will be restored.

Welcome to the forum.

John Adams - Thank you so much. You have no idea how just knowing there may be a cure is so beyond words. I've been so scared and felt like no one cares at all about it except for us suffering with it. There's hope and Just reading that filled me with such happiness I started crying. Again Thank you words can't describe my joy.

Enjoy your stay on the forum

FX-322 is a drug to restore hearing by a bio tech company called Frequency Therapeutics
and should help tinnitus patients as well (if SNHL caused their tinnitus)

How did you get your tinnitus?

Did your painful hyperacusis get better with time?

Research indicates that tinnitus and painful hyperacusis together guarantee some hearing loss I don't believe at all that day dreaming causes tinnitus.

Welcome to the forum.
duude uh seriously I appreciate your optimism but FX-322 is a stage 1 1/2 clinical trial for the treatment of sensori-neural hearing loss and it should also help with tinnitus, however it's too early to get this hype. No offense.

Are you saying that you think that you caused your T by daydreaming?

Have you experienced any fading compared to how your T was say 9 months ago?

Welcome here!
For your maladaptive daydreaming, I can understand, I had that too. And don't worry, we won't judge you! I you like like you need to talk, don't hesitate ok? :)

maladaptive day dreaming did not cause tinnitus and hyperacusis period.
