It's Me, emmalee

Hi Ema

Every morning, in my bath, I have 20/30 minutes
Meditation.
I use a perfectly simple little breathing technique which puts me out in about 20 seconds.
I then gently repeat (silently) my auto suggestion.

Wickapedia.
"Auto-suggestion is a form of self-induced suggestion in which individuals guide their own thoughts, feelings, or behavior.
The technique is often used in self-hypnosis."

The suggestion can also be reinforced consciously whenever "T" intrudes.

"Easy Dave - Hiss is Normal"

Breath Out........."Easy
Breath In.............Dave
Breath Out...........Hiss is
Breath In..............Normal"

Best wishes
Dave xx

Hi, Dave.

Thanks for your meditation suggestion, I will definitely give it a try. I woke up feeling better this morning and then I log in and find that there are, indeed, people who understand and actually want to help me. Now I feel even better yet.

@emmalee

If it's not working Ems, you could always try substituting your own name......
(...being a bit silly now..)
@Jazzer
Dave, once again you made me laugh! Thanks, what would I do without your sense of humor?

Yes, a warm welcome! ...And I'm a newbie as well - & realized this great group is a huge help & outa-the-blue blessing! Anyhow, 'glad you found everyone here that is super supportive + helpful, along with being very "real" so that when "connecting" here there's that calming feeling & good-knowing-element that says you're never having to be alone if struggling. ~ Cheers & ttfn.

Hi Emma.
Just wondering if you are ok.
Did not hear from you today and hopfully you were too busy doing good things.
:)
@David Dubros

Hi back!

I was doing good things, Dave. The day was another gift from the sun Gods and it was so warm, went up to 18 degrees in the Peninsula. I went for my walk, did some laundry (which I actually enjoy) and hung it outdoors to dry. Grocery shopping and a few other errands were on the list, too.

The T came along, of course, but there were moments when I forgot about it. Positive! This morning the "tea kettle whistle" has been replaced by an all over buzzing and I have some pressure on the left ear, where my T has taken up space. I think I prefer the buzzing over the whistle. We will see if I feel the same way at the end of the day.

How about you, Dave? Is the pain still an issue?

Hello @erinkath.:)

I have found a tremendous amount of support here and you are right, it is comforting to know that we don't have to struggle alone.

@emmalee
Wow were you ever busy and doing good stuff. I'm glad for you..
Your T sounds pretty active. Mine is usually low baseline whine.
Thanks for asking ...my back pain is still there and tough in the morning until the NSAID kicks in.
. Hoping your day today is as good as yesterday for you.

Wishing you a good day, too Dave.:huganimation:

Well this afternoon my pain has subsided. Not anywhere near what is was yesterday. I think i might have done a fair bit of healing in the past 2 weeks of this injury by remaining in bed with pain killers,NSAIDs and my heating pad. I am praying i have work to go back to by next week.
I would give anything to be back on my feet and busy again.
But just for today i have a sense of hope without the pain.:)

A sense of hope is wonderful, Dave. You will be back on your feet in no time, just be sure not to rush things and risk a setback. Just feeling that you want to get up and get at it is a good thing.

~Look for something positive in each day, even if some days you have to look a little harder. Let the challenges make you strong~

A wonderful, rainy day. It is warm enough to open the window some and listen to the rainfall.

Welcome spring rain!

Rain and more rain. It didn't stop me from going for my walk, though. Raincoat, boots and umbrella and away I went. I love spring, and even more, I love my little pink pig! I found him at a garden centre near Stratford, last fall. He was on sale. Room had to made for shovels and snow-blowers, so he had to find a new home. He is loving the rain as much as me.

The T is ticked at me I think, I hardly noticed it during my walk. I think it was still a little peeved because I actually slept through the night.

Gratuitous pink pig photo...

@emmalee
Love the pink pig and better yet love the fact that you stood up to your T.
You sound great and you've obviously got a grip right now.
Stay in the moment.:)
@David Dubros

Hi Dave. I am having a good day, it is surely because I managed to sleep straight through last night. A good night's sleep can do wonders for your psyche.

I will surely stay in the moment, thanks Dave.

Take care of yourself, I hope you are doing better today. One day at a time.:huganimation:

I have a sense of peace tonite.:)

You are so kind, Dave, thanks for the well wishes. I hope the rain continues through the night, it is supposed too. I love the sound of it on the roof.

I just got back from getting my blood work done. Pre-ENT visit blood work to be exact. When I went to my MD about the fullness and ringing in my ears he asked if I had had any earaches, infections, head colds, etc. I answered yes to the head colds so he wanted me to have blood work done.

Now I sit and wait for my appointment. When my doctor's receptionist called she said that my first visit would most likely be just the hearing test, followed by another appointment to discuss the test and have my ears looked at.

So, the waiting game continues.

Sending prayers of hope your way:)

@David Dubros

Thank-you David.:huganimation:

As you are probably well aware of, the wait times to see a specialist here are extreme. I can only imagine how long it will take to get the appointment, after the hearing test. I could be looking at June before I see the ENT.

Wishing you a straightforward diagnosis and speedy recovery.

Yes it could be but don't get your hopes up too high for a miracle.
Be realistic in what you might expect to hear from him.
I was told by my ENT to get used to it.
Very cold diagnosis.
I am really hoping you have better indications.
