How exactly is it disheartening? The trademark is simply a formality and I don't know why there's this handwringing over it. Even if by some extreme case someone comes around and claims they have the trademark
(which is doubtful), they just
rename the damn thing and continue. So the trademark is
inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. There are a lot of ways for Neuromod may wind up being vaporware but the trademark is the least likely.
Now is probably the worst time to write off Neuromod. Those who do will look silly if they really are weeks or only a few months away from delivering.
Meanwhile, good luck trying to ram yourself into a (presumably out-of-state) clinical trial that probably only allows for a few hundred participants at most and may not even be running right now (just as Susan Shore's trial doesn't look like it's running). I know we have a couple people here who have been in trials but that doesn't mean everyone who wants tinnitus relief can just automatically get in on them. It's like winning a lottery.
Again, let's see if things are still in this limbo state with little explanation through July-August.
