Too many discoveries, too many advances, but no option for those affected. Come on, put that machine in my brain.
Maybe they do not want my money?

Shows how long I have not visited Tinnitus Talk, I thought MuteButton was long gone and I can't be arsed reading through anything, so if anybody can give me an update that will be splendid and much appreciated.

Long story short:

Positive data from trial 1:

There has been positive talk about the 2nd trial also. No data officially released. But some of the staff on here have given hints. According to the data they showed it helps with both tinnitus and hyperacusis.

They have submitted their data for peer review. I have heard from some on Tinnitus Talk that they plan on releasing it next year.

@Steve is also trying to set up an Q&A with Neuromod, the makers of the device.

Now we are just waiting to hear more form them.

Thank you for the reply my friend, excellent news.

I was under the assumption that these devices (MuteButton, University of Michigan, University of Minnesota) could not be used if you have hyperacusis as they produce sound... is that incorrect?

Does the paper say also hyperacusis gets better? Could not find that statement.

@Steve said this some pages back:
The results presented at the BTA conference from the first study stated that it worked especially well for reduction of hyperacusis. Need to see it replicated in the larger study but it was an interesting finding.

How is it going with the Q&A @Steve?
I chased them this weekend. They are going to fix a date very soon, once I know I'll post it and we can start to gather together questions.

I've been a bit off-grid with work, sorry I haven't updated more.

Maybe I am a bit dumb here...

How can they put it on the market so soon... They haven't released any information which proves this works, right?

This wait is driving me crazy. I'm dying to hear the results of their testing. Even more important will be the results reported by those who get their hands on it in a clinical setting.

Did ACRN or TinniTool prove that the device worked? All they really have to do is prove it's not gonna harm you.

As someone who has watched new treatments unfold over the years, I now know to hold my money back before a strong evidence base builds up...

Yes some news alright. I got an email from Susan Shore this evening also... I too hope that at the very least it doesn't make it worse...

No faith in Neuromod?
