I'm so lazy i have to get to backing up all my files on one OS, install a new OS and put the files on their and reinstall all my programs.

Here's the OS I am planning on using instead of Linux Mint.
right now i've been using windows for the past few days and it's really unsafe

Heres a scary thought:

What if all cochlear damage isnt just death to the hair cell. What if it just breaks off half way down the hair shaft? It would take half the energy to stimulate it which would explain loudness at certain frequecies. How could current experimental tech adress a half shorn off hair shaft?

While this argument does sound right to me too, a major operative word in your post is "all cochlear damage". In fact, however, there are plausibly different types of damage, some of which could be fixed with regeneration and some not (unfortunately).
Ultimately the proof will be in the clinical trials.

I thought of the solution. Just blast your ears with broadband noise across the entire hearing spectrum until you are completely deaf and then use fx322 on a clean slate. yes I've gone insane.

Haha was thinking that bro.

We are proof that God is dead. If he was alive he would have cured all our problems, including tinnitus long ago.

I grew up in a church from birth to age 18.
When I eventually realised that the cement holding the congregation to the church was in fact the fear generated by the blackmailing threat of hellfire for the unbeliever, this all loving god lost credibility for me.

fx-322 won't repair damage to the auditory nerve
and that would destroy the supporting cells used to regenerate hair cells. lol

guys im going through a crisis right now I installed a new OS similar to Linux Mint "Kubuntu" they both use the same desktop enviorment "KDE Plasma' but Kubuntu doesn't allow dragging and dropping files into an application or multiple start menus, it's weird Kubuntu's taskbar allows multiple start menus but they are all a copy of the original.

I'm freaking pissed I spent the whole day trying to repair my broken Mint and gave up.

Mint also doesn't support KDE plasma any more :(

I need plasma

this damn tinnitus isnt enough I have to go throught some of the most intense and crazy heat wave registered in my zone yet...thats just my luck :x

nah

Why do people always assume that a god is

1. benevolent by default
2. something that must go out of its way to make your life as carefree as possible

The existence of suffering doesn't make it more or less likely that they exist.

You could make the argument that a god is much more likely to be indifferent to your sufferings than the other way around. After all, you don't really give a damn about all the bugs you unknowingly squish while you walk around, nor do you constantly stop by their little nests to deliver them food and make sure they're all happy and healthy. The same is likely true between gods and humans, only much more extreme.

Just my view......

From Tinnitus D. Therapist ehView attachment 20621

I totally agree with all those habituation refuters that shout loudly that we want a cure.
This condition is pure fucking hell on earth, no question about it.
Of course, the fact that we need a cure does not necessarily mean that we will get one.
We need to help fund, and push for as much research as we can possibly get.

In the mean time, has any therapy, psychological approach, or treatment, proved itself to be efficacious or helpful in any way at all?

Perhaps those who have benefitted from any therapy could join in here.

It was a relevant and reasoned question.
Your answer is just another piece of 'shit' from your cynical shit factory.
Perhaps others will be capable of more intelligent responses.....
Well how many times do we have to teach you a lesson old man?

This is your fourth time "proselytizing" for lack of a better word, on MPP. Which is ironic considering your recent trend of memes. You want people who are pro-therapy to come on the post, when this is the one post on the site that doesn't operate like that. I wonder why that could be...

We're not even going to say you can't comment here if you want to focus on habituation or whatever. MPP is diverse and you don't have to agree to like memes. But if you try to convert the thread, then you're going to get the responses like that.

Once again you have failed to appreciate where I am coming from.
Tinnitus is a second by second, minute by minute problem.
I have serious doubts as to whether any type of therapy can achieve anything at all.
So the question is relevant and not loaded in favour of therapy.
I have had no therapy for Tinnitus, though I did learn about personal meditation many years ago to help me with my infant neglect.
Meditation to me is a bit like sleep.
It gives me some respite for a few minutes.

I hadn't realised that your site would erupt if any counter questions were posed.

As to my age - I have no more control over that than you have over your venomous personality.

For the record we're not actually calling you old. It's from a scene in spongebob where there's an old fish who people thought did something wrong. So when people use this reaction image, everyone is "old man" regardless of age.

And we wouldn't erupt at all. Again I didn't say you couldn't post your viewpoints here if we disagree. In fact I encourage it. But if someone disagrees there's nothing wrong with that.

I appreciate where you're coming from. And I agree therapy isn't always the answer. But contrast disagreeing isn't a bad response in itself. He's right we've already been there, done that with this debate.

Okay - I've actually understood a few things here - don't look so surprised! - the age thing wasn't essentially personal.
You're right about memes - I don't usually 'get 'em' as I don't watch children's television.
(Ooops sorry.)
My god-doubting cartoons seem pretty relevant to me.
If we have to rely on god for help
- well - god 'elp us - that's all I can say !!
I hope you realise I could end up on the barbecue for my lack of belief.
I still think my question is relevant and will be careful to ask it elsewhere.
In view of my new found enlightenment, I will downgrade my 'venomous' to pertinent.

I had to smile - slightly TFF.

I never understood the idea that every thread strictly needs to stay on a certain topic. A lot of threads are redundant threads, and if they didn't stray, then every similar thread would be a carbon copy of eachother.

MPP is based on that principle and it's the best thread on the site. I'm not saying threads like this should be deliberately detailed at all, but stifling tangents that arise from thread discussions (like this one) are part of exploring the idea further.

I really didnt want to get into religion here. I come here for support and especially mpp for a good dose of comedy and irony, but if people are going to mock the Bible, then I have no other choice but to defend it. There are simply things about the Bible that, in my perception, basically prove that it is true. I posted that Isaac Newton book. He saw it too. A very rationaly minded individual that invented calculus and was the first to mathematically describe planetary motion. Modern Christianity went off the rails between 200-100 years ago and most of what people are exposed to today is a garbage dump of idiocy. Im here to say that there are truths in the Bible, regarding the rise and fall of world empires, and descriptions of major wars, and developments in human society, things that were written hundreds of years before they occured that in my mind prove it to be impossible to explain without including an all knowing God communicating these things through angels to man. You are not going to hear any thing I have to say in any church, because from my experience, thats where the devil actually resides. This is way beyond Nostradumbass crap. If youre going to debate what Im talking about, then you better know history. Youd do youself wisely to read that Isaac Newton book I posted.

God is good and if you understand His prophecies then what that does is it endows you with an understanding of what is going on with humanity, and our governments, in the big picture. We are nearing the end of the age, and the coming world system is going to be very good. We are about to see the downfall of the current world power structure and it will be replaced with one that is just. Plus there may also be life extension technology and cures for all diseases. This is not Heaven, this is going to be here on the earth. I can explain it.
