I wonder what the profit margin is.

It is prob HUGE since it will be the first effective treatment for tinnitus and they know people will pay whatever is needed to get relief from tinnitus.

TBH I'm surprised more people aren't freaking out about this on here.

I agree, but god do we need at least something so I don't jump off a bridge!
This is true but will this be unaffordable for some people? $3,000 is alot of money for many. I bet the cost to make one of these is less than $200, easily and may be as low as $70.

My suffering from T is infinite. So I paying $30 or paying $3000 dollars for relief is exactly the same.:cool:

Did you guys see this pamphlet from Nueromod? The hype train is seriously on a roll now without any breaks. They are releasing their official findings on the 9th. I am so optimistic yet so terrified that it isn't as good as they are leading on.

thoughts?
10/9/18: Neuromod breaks the internet. MPP phones and computers explode with notifications. Top MPP officers gather to assess the critical status of of the long-awaited tongue candy. TRT funders huddle in fear, feverishly rehearsing alibis. Levo stands naked, stripped of its ®®®s. Somebody hand PJ his PJs cause he'll be unemployed.

Yeah maybe a tad overly optimistic. But hey.

@Jack Straw saw the pamphlet and chatted to the lady at the stand. She said they had tried to get the pricing right - if my memory serves me well the device would retail at £2,000GBP.

I presume you'd have to go to Ireland to get it "fitted".

Thank you for popping in! I will definitely go to Ireland if it means I can get this device sooner.

I have a BS degree in electronics and I have designed electrictronics for machines used in automation. I know very well how much money goes into a device like this and this is absolute price gouging bullshit. It is a tens unit for the tongue and headphones that have a unique switching patter and there is nothing special about the generation of sounds. This thing should cost $100-$300 at the most and that would still include a good profit margin. They are charging a premium just because they can. It's infuriating.

I still play my acoustic guitar and sing but satanittus has spoiled me on music production. I like your music though, it's good.

What kind of guitar do you have? What kind of music do you like to play?

Downloaded and listened. You're quite talented!
I'd be more talented if I could heal myself of this horrible disease. What in tarnation why did God give fish and chickens the ability to heal but not us????????? And why can you legally go to a doctor in the US and get a suicide potion and kill yourself but you cant have an ENT inject your eardrums with experimental medication that you and the doctor agree upon?

hyperacusis with pain seems to have some evidence to suggest it has peripheral aspects
directly related to inner ear damage.
https://neurosciencenews.com/inner-ear-neuron-damage-3033/

not to say there is not neurological reason's as well. I'm already making an assumption correcting peripheral damage will undo the faulty neuro-plasticity. I could be wrong i'm not a neuro-scientist.

other conditions like dypacusis, recruitment are interesting and need to be investigated

some hypothesis of recruitment suggest inner hair cells are detect sounds and outer hair cells amplify them (this is true), and damage to the inner hair cell causes soft sounds to be amplified due to OHC's replacing their role.

others are more central assuming the brain acts as an internal hearing aid to listen harder to damaged frequency ranges. both could be true.

I don't know if hyperacusis with pain and recruitment are the same thing or if there are several unrelated conditions

One thing is certain. inner ear conditions are NOT taken seriously by audiologist and ENT's, a super complex organ of hearing and balance is prone to so much going wrong is only treated through fancy microphone/amplifiers and cognitive therapies is an injustice.

It boggles the mind. This is criminal. These people took the Hippocratic oath.

I actually already checked out your YT channel and listened to this one. Music is (was) a huge part of my life which is why I have satanittus in the first place and probably why it bothers me so much.
You and me both. It was like half my income(only when I played country music)- calgary has deep routed cowboy culture
