If you find one, let me know hahaWell and true but there's got to be some doctors, even if only a few who can see past that

Unfortunately we're still very far from that step...If you find one, let me know haha
unfortunately. I am depressed, angry and feel like every day is the same.Unfortunately we're still very far from that step...
It's difficult to believe life has come to this.unfortunately. I am depressed, angry and feel like every day is the same.
Ya, it's fucked. Funny because I would probably not being doing anything much different. It just that all downtime in my life sucks considerably. I'm not sure what makes me more angry, the noise in my head. or just the fact I have itIt's difficult to believe life has come to this.

If FX-322 ends up working, those of us with HL 8-15/16 khz will be able to find an ENT with a brain on their head who will be willing to give us the medicine despite passing the 8 khz audiogram.
Because, there are simply so many doctors, there's gotta be one somewhere with a brain. We'd just have to fly to them that's all.
Agree or disagree?
@Jack Straw Hi, I'm fine thanks. What about you? My tinnitus is fading day by day. I think in a year or maybe half I will be tinnitus free but this is so unusual. I did some research. I did some vestibular tests and caloric test say that I have damaged left labyrinth but I have also ear canal asymmetry so it is not objective in my case. I did VHIT and they said it's all in normal range. Maybe it's all neuro lyme and it's all HERX reaction. Maybe lyme test is false positive and it's all ototoxicity. I don't know. But I know one thing... I hate this forum and it is so hard and depressive to read all these people post full of suffering so I avoid it. This forum is like hell. It's like dwelling with people that are suffering from fire and brimstone day by day. Hour after hour. It is crazy thing. Many topics and posts look funny but it is just expression of desperation and madness.
I wish I could say the same for myself, but that's another story.
Demand experimental medicine, tell the doctors what they think about Frequency Therapeutics, Otonomy or Decibel Therapeutics active research to cure hearing loss and tinnitus. Let them know how you feel about the year 2018 being primitive and backwards time in human history where a man can lose his hearing without the right to try experimental medicine. They probably won't know because they just want to sell hearing aids.
Current research on hearing loss
Company name : Otonomy
Research : Repair cochlear synaptic ribbons
Status : Pre-clinical (trial begins 2019)

Company name : Decibel Therapeutics
Research : Repair cochlear synaptic ribbons
no drug announced yet
These companies are making medicine that should improve speech in background noise which is the most common form of hearing loss. Everyone has some degree of this but more degenerative damage is noticable.

Cochlear hair cell regeneration
Other clincial phase drugs like FX-322 are regenerating cochlear hair cells by tricking neighboring progeintor cells in the cochlea into regrowing new hair cells. This is meant for more degenerative forms of hearing loss because current research indicates that ribbon synapses die before hair cells.

What to do now?
In the mean time take magnesium and b-12 along with the steroid to atleast get the most recovery possible but once again this is a bad scenario to be in. Due to the fact that cochlear ribbon synapses are the most vunerable element in the inner ear even if the hair cells recovery your hearing will not be able to make a full recovery with current technology.

You always have more hearing loss then is shown on the tonal audiogram. (standard hearing test)
Do your best to ask for these extended test as well
Most audiograms do not test for the following
Speech in Noise test (request this test)
Extended Audiogram (request this test)
and simply music is a very effective way to check for hearing loss in background noise, you can do this one yourself.
Basically they consider these forms of hearing loss to be "clinically unconcerning"
When an audiologist tells someone they have "PERFECT HEARING"
they actually mean you hear perfect in a silent room within the human voice range and 8khz in pure tonal beeps.
Hearing loss is more complex then that.
and it causes problems. For example people will be very upset if music sounds broken or the sharpness of their of hearing goes, but because it does not effect the bare vitals of hearing to communicate they don't care.
Also if it wasn't obvious damage to hearing outside of human speech range can also generate tinnitus and hyperaucis's.

hearing loss caused by death of ribbon synapses comes first

followed by the death of the hair cells

No dude science will restore your hearing.
So basically the whole auditory business is so fcking complicated and convoluted, even leaving T aside I will never hear music the way I did before I went to that stupid bar, is that right?
Kindly KMN, what is life without that beauty of music? Nothing, for me.
Seriously. I screwed it up and it's over. Wow. The finality.
@Contrast
wow, this is disgusting.
Fcking Levo sh!t. what a greedy ass "doctor"
PLEASE BE RIGHT XXXXXXNo dude science will restore your hearing.
That's what they do. It's a common procedure.I don't think I'd let an ENT poke a hole in my eardrum.
I'm just picky about doctors.... as well as auto mechanics. That's what they do. It's a common procedure.

Why not go to a Otolaryngologist / Neurologist if it cost the same.
Good question. However, would you rather go to the one with more experience in the procedure as opposed to some title?I'm just picky about doctors.... as well as auto mechanics.

More experience as well as reputation and acceptance among peers. The titles are merited, they're excellent technicians who do surgeries and procedures on a routine basis. I'm not a big fan of "doc in a box" but I do realize there are many good doctors out there, auto mechanics too.Good question. However, would you rather go to the one with more experience in the procedure as opposed to some title?
what is MPP doing for Christmas?
shitposting on a tinnitus forum is good enough for me.
yeah man it's the only thing that makes life worth living.Me too. Might as well spend New Year's Eve here too. I live a very exciting life these days. The people are good though.
That might be an exaggeration or you're being sarcastic... I still haven't figured you out, which is a good thing, more interesting.yeah man it's the only thing that makes life worth living.
I'm like the most mentally ill person on this forum. That might be an exaggeration or you're being sarcastic... I still haven't figured you out, which is a good thing, more interesting.
Maybe you're serious, which is okay too.
Whichever it is, it's all good....
