I mean, it is how he makes money, so I can appreciate that.
I can't appreciate that, sorry, have absolutely no issues with you my friend. Health care workers, like teachers, which I am, are not and should not be capitalist scum. Sadly they often are, but there is and was an idea of helping people in need. I know he has to make his living, I get your point, and begrudgingly accept it. You're probably right. But wouldn't it be swell if somebody could give a tinnitus or hyperacusis sufferer a break with some free advice occasionally. May keep someone from killing themselves. Steven Heller, from Stanford, responded to my email for free and didn't want jack. Nice guy. It's all about money. I can just see the unemployed mentally traumatized tinnitus and hyperacusis sufferers being spit on, while they sit on the streets with cardboard signs begging for scraps. Julian would have told you to take a hot bath anyways, be grateful you didn't give him your money.

wake up satanic cabal billionaires none of you are going to heaven you better find a cure to literally everything in the coming years
fucking chinese and saudis spending billions on shark fins and giraffe dicks but can't finance research when their life depend on it

Does anyone else sometimes have the evil hope that many more people get tinnitus, so awareness and research will increase. I'm secretly a bit happy if I hear of people going to another festival without earplugs

Oh yeah. The sad reality is that more sufferers= more drive to cure it.

That's more what I mean. My understanding is that he does the tinnitus help full time (right? correct me if I'm wrong). It's unfortunate. I've dealt with a few audiologists, one of them has answered a few questions via e-mail for free.

Great to hear about Steve Heller being kind enough to offer some advice for free!

LOL. You know it. Or get your feet massaged. He gives away quite a lot in his videos, I do wonder what you get beyond that from talking to the guy directly.

Enough with the pep talking self help gurus. Enough with the TRT.

They have learned the mysteries of regenerating mammlian hair cells and regrowing auditory nerves. All focus should be on this. The ATA and BTA arent helping raise awareness of these things and these things will deliver us from tinnitus hell.

Contrast has hit the scammers where it hurts and has put in due diligence researching the pathophysiology of tinnitus and hyperacusis. I have spent a small fortune and traveled the globe and offered up my own body pursuing a cure for this.

What are the ATA and BTA doing? Holding us back?

"We're raising awareness!" We need to take our destiny into our own hands.

I watched a star is born last night. That scene where Bradley cooper is talking to the rehab guy about tinnitus so casually, "yeah it's just a tone" he calmly mumbles, and the rehab specialists just hammers in "yeah there's no cure"... Christ did that ever give me a panic attack.

Lol, thanks for the synopsis. I already figured anything with Lady puke face would be absolute garbage.

me last night

Some people get it.

I just sat down at the bar at a Thai food place and ordered some food and a drinky poo. The bartender saw I was wearing earplugs and turned down the music for me without even asking.

Note of historical interest:
After I got this condition I recalled that the only instance wherein I had ever heard of this occurred
about 30 years ago. I was reading our American author Kurt Vonnegut and he mentioned that the 20th
Century French novelist Louis Ferdinand Celine got fairly severe tinnitus from a World War I injury and that
it ultimately drove him mad. I recall having reacted with utter horror: "Of course such a condition would drive anyone
to the extremity of mental dysfunction." Little did I know that 30 years later I would be in that same Underworld Tinnitus Realm.
Also, recent British documentaries about WWI have noted how prevalent this condition was among a whole generation of Vets. I still find it utterly unconscionable that no really effective drug and/or treatment is available 19 years into this new century.

Anyone keen to see TT member @ryand showcase his DIY bimodal stimulation device? He's starting today, the 25th February and will be posting a running video series on YouTube. Gotta love a bit of biohacking on TT!

Amazing that we have drugs to solve headaches, migraine, to treat Parkinson's and loads of other conditions, but nothing to alleviate noise.

I don't know that we can blame anyone?
Who's to say that it is cureable anyway?
Maybe the problem is too complex?

It's too complex until it isn't

Buddy that movie stunk

It stunk!

What makes me LOL is despite the constant episodes he has of tinnitus he just sits there and doesn't have a breakdown like all of us

Eh it stunk and Lady Gaga stinks

MPP should be the global voice for tinnitus and hyperacusis.
If Tinnitus Talk and all of us would be the global voice that would be good, but no instead we have the American "for most people it goes away" Tinnitus Association.

You do realize that when people had a choice (socialism in the USSR or Cuba, China, or Eastern Europe vs. capitalism in the West), people were voting with their feet, and they were voting for capitalism, right?

Most recently, folks like you had been celebrating Venezuela getting rid of capitalism. Now they have been reduced to eating zoo animals there. So are you ignorant (of history and economics, and a lot more) or insane, or what?

I'm going insane, MPP should I consider trying out low-dose benzos as a temporary holdover (Neuromod?), maybe they'll help somehow?
May I get opinions please.

This isn't as simple as capitalism vs communism. There's more at play. It is actually more about organizational ability and controlled dissemination of knowledge. We may as well be communists. They just dress it up differently here.

FYI I recently flew through that picture.

I couldn't agree more. This wasn't been the case in 1980s and it mostly wasn't the case fifteen years ago. This is the reason our standard of living has been falling like a stone. I expect it to get a Lot worse and soon.

Good advice RE: how to speed up cure... from an anon?

* * * * *

Step 1: Find stories, facts, and statistics about veterans with tinnitus. Document the connection between tinnitus and every other condition plaguing veterans, including increased risk of suicide.

Step 2: Email journalists with your findings. Got a veteran friend? You two are two well-meaning amateurs who believe you have found the cause of all the chaos at the VA and its healthcare system. Give the journalists the clickbait they so desperately desire. "Is this 'brain infection' to blame for woes at VA?" - or - "Could a strange ear disorder explain why so many veterans are committing suicide?"(Of course, it's not an infection. Hence the scare quotes. But you could present it as a form of neurological infection that spreads, and infects the rest of the body via the mind-brain connection. Or at least do so enough to give the journalists some mainstream headlines.

Step 3: Once you get some stories published, all of you should start emailing your local politicians. Calling works too. They NEED to pick up and document your emails. It tells them they better do something or else they will look bad and cowardly. Example: demand answers about this mysterious ear illness and ask how they are going to protect the veterans who suffer from it and demand something be done about this tinnitus villain that increases suicide rates. Before it spreads to the children and our schools. Logic goes out the window.

Step 4: Plant the idea of a Priority Review Voucher reward for the company that solves this ear-brain suicide-causing parasite for good. Politically, who can argue against the cause? Politically, who wouldn't gain by presenting a bill that is addressing that scary ear virus (or was it a parasite? eh whatever) and saving the public? Who could be against incentivizing big pharma to cure this widespread but little-known tin-eye-dis condition? If you've properly executed the 3 prior steps, the answer is no one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priority_review#Priority_review_voucher_program

Step 5: Keep applying pressure until they are so sick and tired of getting emails and phone calls that they just sign the damn bill. FDA Priority Review Voucher essentially lets pharma companies skip the approval wait time. And they can stockpile them. So that when they cure a big moneymaker, they can get 4 extra months onto the market and possibly even skip ahead of competitors who are racing to offer treatment to market.
