This conversation has become very interesting for me. I am a bit of a philosophy nut, and I am also trained in the "hard" sciences, so this is right up my alley. I will say that the problem of free will has always been fascinating to me, and my stance has been that free will simply cannot exist within the framework of materialism as we understand it.

However, if consciousness is somehow able to break the causal chain and actually cause antecedent effects, this would undermine the notion that free will is a non-starter. I am open to these theories, not because I want to see the concept of Free Will proven or dis-proven, but simply because it would solve one of the oldest problems in philosophy, and that progress is tremendously exciting to me.

retro causality is the only way for free will to exist. Regardless if materialism or panpsychism is true.

Evolution of the nervous system and brain must have found a way to make use of quantum retrocasuality to allow organisms to have agency of their own. I'm assuming lower animals like pigeons make decisions of their own as well.

Thank you for compiling this. It's actually some of the most valuable information available on these forums. His aggressive DIY research has been the most productive response to shitnitus and HL that I've seen. I've had the same hunch that there could be a cure existing in a variety of basic shit that's somehow always eluded us.

What happened to him? Wish he was still here pushing for progress.

I think the word "free will" is kinda rude, since I agree we are mostly slaves to biology and environment. I think a better word is conscious agency.

What would happen if ACT was replaced with Julian's routine? As a palliative treatment for tinnitus?

What if people with tinnitus and chronic painful health problems were encouraged by physicians to disconnect from reality, emmerse themselves in fan fic, and make dumb retarded graphical art as a way to deal with anxiety and suffering?

This could be considered a genuine treatment option by the state's absurd standards and fit right in with CBT, TRT, and ACT. But it's NOT economically feasible. The goal of ACT is to prevent people with tinnitus and any other horrible non life threatening condition from collecting disability income.

Julian is a special needs disabled person's special needs disabled person" parallel to the statement (he's a man's man" )

This person not only survives but THRIVES in a fictional psychosis world they have created. In which most people would consider a meaningless depressing life of a retard. It shows the power of the mind, and reality is what you make it. Principles of chaos magick.

However once again if Julian's lifestyle became a palliative treatment for tinnitus, it might alleviate suffering and seriously compete with CBT and ACT. But it won't payback the tax payer, therefore it's not taken seriously by medical academia and Government.

That's right, acting like a fucking retard unironically may be just as effective as CBT, TRT and ACT on tinnitus. It just has ZERO economic value, and since he's on disability unemployed. We already know why it's discouraged behavior.

I wish I was fucking around when I say this but I'm starting to think some form of panpsychism is real.

I wish someone would snap me back in the stone cold materalist mindset, I didn't know atheist denied the existence of free will until recently, or the controversy behind dark matter. I feel like a dumb new age quack that needs to be schooled. Like seriously no one even told me what subjective idealism or panpsychism was. I always use to think in the back of my head either atheism or deism is true, but panpsychism involving consciousness makes a lot ore sense. There really could be a mental part of reality. Every particle has a tiny tiny bit of subjective experience.

I have debilitating health problems, my life is objectively profoundly ruined. But I won't give in the the NIH's CBT, TRT and ACT propaganda.

Drawing cringe art is more worthwhile then "rehabilitation strategies" that's just how they milk you for the State's interest.

In the 17th century Christian theologians taught the Universe (then a few planets) were material and unconscious so their fictional God could exist beyond the Universe as a clockwork God. They did this so early scientist could investigate the natural world without contradicting scripture. God existed in the realm of angels and souls, and dumb particle ball matter was the material. Fast forward four centuries later and mainstream cosmology is a continuation of Christian theology.

Now we are in a scenario where dark matter and energy (96% of the Universe) goes undetected for 90 years. Hypothesizing the Universe as if it were an organismic process is a super taboo. But atleast it's more valid then this illusive "dark matter/energy.

Existing as a conscious agent is virtually impossible according to mainstream science.

You would have been "nothing" without ever knowing it, if it wasn't for virtually impossible odds that lead to life on Earth all the way up to you. Any other irrelevant event would have been different particles (not your consciousness)! They even call it a miracle, because making consciousness fundamental is taboo to them.

Does the human brain show evidence that matter has a mental property 'just like spin, charge, and mass?

If materalist want to disprove mental reality aspects of panpsychism, show evidence of mental activity in the physical such as the following mock up illustration I made.

If science could show the mental as physical, that would be a huge strike against panpsychsim. But they can't!
