New Here, Five Weeks In. Life Completely Changed.

I was so worried for my baby after that, but her hearing came out normal from a hearing test, so I think that I have to trust that she is ok...
You might consider looking into whether it is safe to give NAC (N-acetylcysteine) to your baby.

Thanks for your suggestion. But isn't it a little to late? I read that acetylcystein only helps (if it helps) within the first 72 hours. I tried to find it everywhere when this happened but I couldn't find it. In Sweden you also (stupidly) need a prescription for that. I couldn't see a doctor until thuesday (that happened on the friday). And that ignorant doctor said to me that this would go away. Maybe it will go away, but I can't believe all the doctors who are telling people that, "oh you got a little tinnitus, that haven't killed anyone yet", or "sorry, you have to live with it, no cure, goodbye!" :/

A baby is probably a lot more resilient than an adult. So perhaps a baby's body is capable of healing itself for a longer time than an adult's body.

One could be more vulnerable during the first few months after an acoustic trauma, and sounds that others are ok with can give one a second acoustic trauma. NAC might help one to get over any shocks that one might encounter in the future.
